I appreciate your $270 price thoughts. My family and I are also still struggling a bit with the price hikes, and am reminded of the Jazz Club's $230 price tag - which really stung! Especially since I don't think that set is exceptionally great. We'll end up getting this new entry, since we own all of the other 18 modulars, and IMO, this new set is fantastic! But, we'll wait for a good GWP or Double VIP point opportunity.
The Natural History Museum is $449.99 in Austrlia which is absolutely disgusting. What's worse is that LEGO Stores started selling modular buildings exclusively when the Boutique Hotel was released. Prior to that big box retailers and large toy shops in Australia sold Modular Buildings also and they would occasionally be sold at a small discount. Those days are long gone and they are tough times for LEGO fans down under!
It does look fantastic in that placement. Well done on that. Also, thanks very much for taking the time to place the minifigs in the museum in little scenes. I'm not picking this set up, but because you created all the minifigs scenes like that, I get a little more fun from your review and the set. I appreciate that! Also, glad Lego sent you the modular after going through all those stunts sets 😊 Thanks very much!
Really loving this new modular. I was going to make a moc museum for myself but now that this is out, I wont bother. lol! I always thought a museum would be a great idea for this line. Thanks for the great review.
OMG Alex the Natural History useum is Spectacular and when I saw all of the mini figs. all of the animals and the numerous goodies I was in AWE I think it IS a Great price and it's something one has forever and you sure did give is a Magtnificent Presentation and totally enjoyed hearing all about it....KIDDO YOU SO ROCK!! Joan Smith
I pre-ordered this set on November 13 because it's a present for myself (+ I wanted gallileo GWP) (I know I missed out on the 2x point and the new GWP but I like the gallileo GWP better and I'll still have enough points on the lego promotional pirate adventure ride set)
By far the most detailed part of the build is Dr Cyber's office. The rest of the museum should have been fitted out like that. When they had Brick Bank I bought 3 extra sets so I could have an extra story to a moc, with different insides. I used the surplus pieces to build a museum on one baseplate with all the lovely exterior detailing of that set (one of the best, both exterior and the ground floor interior). My museum also had the wings proud of the main line of the building. I stocked it with historic minifigures from the minifigure collection, as statues. It was much more detailed inside than this one. A suggestion: can you weigh the modular collection to see which is actually the biggest, and provide a ranking by weight, then inflation-adjusted dollars per Kg. I have my suspicion that Town Hall will still be #1. In my view this is the best way of ranking actual value for money, since even Lego thinks that all those tiny 1x1 tiles are essentially worthless.
That's amazing work on your MOC. I haven't done any weight comparisons for a bit, but with this one being as big as it is, I think it would be interesting to find out. Thanks!
Awesome review and placement Amazing set I'm not sure about the color. I think the main color should have been light nougat with white and maybe other colors as accents Its awesome that it fills up the whole baseplate for the first time in a while. IMO the dinosaur takes up too much space, I would probably replace it with something else That's the beauty of the set though, its perfect to customize. I agree the price should have been around $270, Assembly Square was originally $280
I think they put that skeleton of the dinosaur to help sell this thing. They are very sure to show it in every picture they can. Kids love dinosaurs. Thanks for checking it out. Have a great one!
Great review. Like always there are so much different opinions about the new modular. My opinion only from the pictures and video I saw is some where in the middle. Not good and not bad. Back to your video and especially the place of the museum next to the Town Hall. ... the Museum screams for a extra floor. It looks now so lost.
Thanks, it is amazing how we see such a huge modular and then realize it isn't as impressive when placed to other modulars. It does seem like it would benefit from another floor. I think this is super easy to do, but it all comes down to the cash to buy another.
Some good thoughts on the new modular Alex - I can't help but still wish the release date was Jan 1st - for me that was always a big pull for going to the LEGO store. I really like the look of the build from the front ... the back is rather bland but who really cares it is after all the back! ... I may even consider getting another one in time and building another floor to make it that little bit more imposing - good choice of colour IMHO and nice placement in your city too.
I do agree, it feels a bit off getting it released in December. Adding another floor would be easy enough to do with a duplicate, but that's a lot of money for an extra floor.
The new modular looks great. With the release date being December this year, if I get up to 322.11, I am pre-ordering it over double vip to have it in time forvmy birthday in December.
There are some areas I can't reach unless I actually get up on the tables. It is actually just that one area. I have an access hole just behind the Green Grocer. I don't use MILS. Lots of reasons, but the biggest is cost given the scale of the city.
Hi alix .guessing your in LAN if got the set .over all its not ton bad ..just for a musium...add .not the ushal type moduler like asembly squar .i did think it was going to be jam packed with more ..but i guess if haveing to much desplay s. Might of made it to cramed ..as i do.with every moduler add my own tuche s .to each moduler .i got a good thort on what i going to add to it 😊
Yes, thank you! So far it has been a good experience. I want to represent my community the best I can so please let me know what you think of these sets.
I’m tempted to buy 2 and make it bigger to make room for ideas set dinosaur fossils ( 23120) has to be done doesn’t it? 🤔 Also the new Jurassic park t-Rex skull set coming in January might look good as a display out the front
Interesting point. Where did all those pieces go? I will say that the Museum does have a more detailed interior though. Hard to top Town Hall, that's for sure.
All in all this modular is one of my favorite ones. Probably also because I really like natural history museums. 🙂 I have to say, though, the olive color really doesn't fit for me. It's way too dark compared to the white pillars and ornaments and I'd also say that's the reason why it's a bit lost at 10:30, as you mentioned. It would have needed a brighter color or less elements distracting from it in the front and darker pillars. Saying that, I'm happy with it overall. I'll stick to my previous MOC plans for a natural history museum and can get some more nice exhibits from this set and a bunch of olive parts to use in other MOCs.
Great review. My income isn’t keeping up with Lego’s price increases so I most likely won’t be able to purchase this. It’s just the nature of the current economy and not Lego’s fault. Fortunately there have many great creator and city sets in that $100-$150 price range that I can enjoy!
Love the new placements, although the police station sticks out like a sore thumb. Have you tried swapping it with the sanctum or the Parisian restaurant?
I have tried a few things, the main issues is getting a modular that looks good next to Boutique Hotel. It has a very wide base and I hate how far it sticks out next to the others, especially Parisian restaurant. I'll keep moving them around.
Grats on being the first in my feed with with a review. Yeah this set is not for me.. too modular for someone without a city. I wish the front was transparent so you could see the skeleton from the outside. As a standard modular tackle box its a pass for me ;(
Excellent review. I am already loving this set. Will there be room in Fiverton? We’ll leave that to the city planner to decide, as there are no plans to expand at this time. (I’m talking to you, Mardigrasman23).
It took me awhile to adapt to the color. When I first saw it I stood there looking at it for awhile with a confused look. It wasn't until after I built it that the color no longer seemed like an issue.
This set disappointed me. The design of the facade does not exactly look like something in the classical style of the museum. The color scheme also raises questions. But perhaps the biggest disappointment was the contents inside. From the name Natural History Museum, I was expecting a real museum of nature, with skeletons, stands with minifigures of animals and plants. what's the result? - one brachiosaurus, a reference to the skull and fossil of an ammonite. Half a floor of the universe, rockets, etc. and a room with historical eras of man. Is this really a museum of nature, not history, or just a museum? Why then was it necessary to give such a name to the set? But it would be a great idea to make a modular planetarium in the future, where these models of the solar system and rockets would be much more appropriate.
I'd like to see what Sanctum looks like next to this.
Edit: The Museum is incredible. It's a definite step up from the last modular.
It was pretty close to it there. seems like the height is very similar.
My exact thought
I got this set for Xmas, it’s my new favorite Lego set ever looks amazing in my City right next to the Sanctum Sanctorum.
I appreciate your $270 price thoughts. My family and I are also still struggling a bit with the price hikes, and am reminded of the Jazz Club's $230 price tag - which really stung! Especially since I don't think that set is exceptionally great.

Good call waiting for double points. The price hikes are a tough reality. I refuse to adapt. I'll complain until I am old and gray!

Great share this set amezing

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback about the minifigures. I'll be sure to keep doing that. Those stuntz sets were...fun. lol.
Fun fact correction: The curator is actually Dr Charles Lightening from the Lego adventures series!
I think the Orient Express train that is coming out in December is also $299.00 with a much lower piece count.
You are correct! 2,540 pieces to be exact.
Really loving this new modular. I was going to make a moc museum for myself but now that this is out, I wont bother. lol! I always thought a museum would be a great idea for this line. Thanks for the great review.
Yes, it is about time we get a museum. Glad they went big for it.

Thank you so much! It was a fun one to build and show off.
I pre-ordered this set on November 13 because it's a present for myself (+ I wanted gallileo GWP) (I know I missed out on the 2x point and the new GWP but I like the gallileo GWP better and I'll still have enough points on the lego promotional pirate adventure ride set)
Yep, ill be getting this one. Great review, and great job
Thanks, you'll love it even more as you build it.
Great video and great review! I have pre-ordered this set.
Thanks! It's always fun to do reviews of sets you are excited about. The annual modular is one of them. Enjoy the build!
Seen your tall building in the background that said Mike's on it. I should get some royalty from a building in my name lol
Oh, man! For sure!
it turned out to be a very cool detailed modular, it took the first place in the modular sticker list for me
No stickers is always a plus!
Really nice review! I like the Assembly Square placement at the road “T”.
Thanks, there was a lot of moving modulars to get to this point. And it will start all over again next year. yay!
This is amazing! I cannot wait to get this. I've been saving expecting it in January so I won't be able to buy til then sadly.
The statues count as minifigures imo
I'd have to agree with you there. I guess we'll say it's 9. Yay, tied for first!
This is another solid looking modular. Honestly, it looks a little boring when compared to Assemble Square or Boutique Hotel, though.
The set is great. I’m a bit sceptic about the color choice of olive green but it is what it is. Overall, It’s a good addition to the city. 😊
Thanks, I think I have a thing for symmetry. Town Hall and this are taking center stage.
@@alexnunes it is good to see a symmetrical building at this scale 😊
1:53 Are you sure? Other reviewers stated it was Dr. Kilroy from Adventurers.
Not as sure as I was when I made the video. A few others have let me know as well.

I love the new museum
That one employee minifig looks way too similar to Krux from Ninjago. Coincidence? I think not!
I doubt this will ever happen, but imagine if Lego still released a 1st January 2024 modular building with an Christmas day reveal 😮
Wow, that would be crazy!
Great review. Like always there are so much different opinions about the new modular. My opinion only from the pictures and video I saw is some where in the middle. Not good and not bad.

Nice, double VIP (INSIDER) is a good time for this one.
How do you reach the middle of the tables? Also, do you use MILS?
There are some areas I can't reach unless I actually get up on the tables. It is actually just that one area. I have an access hole just behind the Green Grocer. I don't use MILS. Lots of reasons, but the biggest is cost given the scale of the city.

Thanks, I missed that one.

Can you share the dimensions of the banners?
I agree there should be railing along the roof. If safety isn’t your first concern, it will surely be your last!
It's Dr Kilroy from the Adventurers Theme!
Ah, nice! I was off then. Darn. Thanks for letting me know.
Modulars seem to be getting shorter
This thing needs its own shelf.
I love the museum but i think it needs a third floor. I may just pick up 2 sets.
Yes, it definitely seems to need that additional floor.
Looks great, but funny how the biggest piece count modular got dwarfed by the surrounding modulars. I expected it to stand out more.
Interesting point. Where did all those pieces go? I will say that the Museum does have a more detailed interior though. Hard to top Town Hall, that's for sure.

Great thoughts on this, thanks for sharing. At the very least it does offer some great exhibits.
Nice placement next to an open square visitors can walk through the square then stop at the museum.
I am glad I went that way. Having it along a street would be a traffic hazard.
Why would a natural history museum have pottery made by the person living above the Parisian restaurant? That makes no sense.
LEGO seems to enjoy making connections to other modulars. This one was a stretch.
No roof railing? Must've used Imperial contractors.
Right? All they ask for is one railing, right there! But then they'd be leaning on it all day.
Great review. My income isn’t keeping up with Lego’s price increases so I most likely won’t be able to purchase this. It’s just the nature of the current economy and not Lego’s fault. Fortunately there have many great creator and city sets in that $100-$150 price range that I can enjoy!
Very few if anyone's income is not keeping up with these prices. I miss the days when they were $150. Of course they were much simpler then.
I'd count the statue minifigures as they use minifigure pieces and that is basically what they are counting
Yeah, I'd have to agree.

Thanks! Just like my city, Fiverton will need to make some sacrifices to fit it.
Just add more square footage too the city
What's going to happen to your Avengers tower ? ... 🤔 (Spare parts)
I think I will make a new building out of it. Not sure what that is yet.
id be asking for a color change to tan or white, the olive green looks horrible
Yes, it is way too dark and uninviting.
It took me awhile to adapt to the color. When I first saw it I stood there looking at it for awhile with a confused look. It wasn't until after I built it that the color no longer seemed like an issue.
am i the only one who thinks that this modular building is missing a floor?
This set disappointed me. The design of the facade does not exactly look like something in the classical style of the museum. The color scheme also raises questions. Ugh. Enormous amount of wasted space. I really wanted to like it, but this will be a pass for me.
Not for everyone. And yes, there is a lot of space in there.
