@@CrispedRanger96 He's not Thel Vadam. Silver Timeline n stuff. I am curious as to how this Elite became Arbiter. That's what this show should cover, not filler on Aleria.
My favorite part of the Halo series: they came out of the gate and said “yeah it’s not canon, it’s an alternate universe” That was super considerate of them, because before it even aired, I was able to throw it out into my mental landfill with all the other bad adaptations that just were just wanting to swindle money out of its fanbase. That really enabled me to laugh at it from day one, rather than go through the stages of grief before being able to ridicule it
6:20 The hologram is from Halo Wars but now yellow and without the symbols. It's the "button" used to active Forerunner technology in cutscenes on the shield world. Edit: i think this implies they're having this conversation on a forerunner ship. Idk tho i won't touch this show with a 10 foot pole.
The original story of Halsey getting the coordinates for Halo from the crashed Forerunner ship on Reach, that Noble Team gave their lives to get this information - and Cortana - safely to the _Pillar of Autumn,_ and the _Autumn_ then making a blind jump to Halo which just happened to be the turning point in the war for humanity in many ways is so much better, because it ties into a central theme of Halo: luck. It was just incredible luck that humanity even got to Halo in the first place.
I think if you go off the books Cortina devises the coordinates for halo from the relic Chief recovers from Sigma Octanus IV. Either way and either story leading to halo is more believable than this POS "alternate timeline"
This show presents a conundrum to me. The writers seem to want to write new things that aren’t related to Halo lore. Cool. Go do that. Write new things, we need less reboots and more new things. Have them go do that. But hire writers that want to adapt the literally pre-written lore for things like this. A tweak or two is fine (see The Last of Us). This would be a win-win. We get faithfully adapted franchises with built-in fan bases being adapted, but also new things. But nope, we get whatever this “Halo” show is.
IF they went out and tried to create something of their own, some shitty B rated sci fi nobody would give them the time of day. The only reason people even acknowledge this show existing is because it has "Halo" as the title. Nothing more.
Totally agree. To me, any screen with ‘Han’ I skip because it has absolutely no use to the main story. Everything with her is Filler and should be removed
The episode had me saying wtf twice which is a huge step up. I mean the worst one for me was Kwan magically using a shovel to dig in frozen dirt to bury the one guy. I can’t believe we will not see chief in the pillar of autumn. The very first time we ever see chief and the show doesn’t wanna do it
Just finished watching the episode. Bruh. The decisions are just so obviously made from a non-Halo knowledge base. The interactions between the Arbiter and Makee were actually really good, if they're going with SIIIs then I wonder if we'll get dedicated Arbiter storylines!!! As a Sangheili main, I can live with this.
100% the Kwan scene is setting up for the Flood, they need something equally mystical to set the tone perhaps. She's definitely gotta be a blessed one or something even more specific to the Forerunners, possibly.
Dave Filoni would've done it better, the man helped produce a show where only one dude voiced quite literally the largest cast of characters, all with the same voice, while at the same time making each one sound so unique and immediately recognizable. Give us a Halo TV show that follows the story of either an ODST or a squad of marines in which we see them take part in some of the most pivotal moments in Halo history while also giving us a fresh take on just how screwed humanity really was if not for the Master Chief.
Dave Filoni might have been great at one point but frankly he's fallen off with his more recent work. More over that's the work of D. Baker your giving credit to Filoni for lol
@@helljumper_212th7 Filoni is credited as the director the clone wars as a show, Baker was the VA responsible for bringing all the clones to life with his incredible work, Baker wasn’t even their first choice to voice the clones but Filoni insisted on having him due to his work in extensive animal and monster vocalizing, he even voiced the Gravemind in Halo 3 and Waddles from Gravity Falls which is quite funny when you think of it.
It's so sad... They had an established story and formula (one that is loved by at least two generations of gamers). And royaly, absolutely, fuck it up. Like looking at Halo and just being like "nahhhh".
They sure did I really wish they would get rid of Kwan and Makee. because they seriously don’t belong in the halo story I mean yeah there’s really nothing more. I could say that really annoys me the most.
They could have made all 8 shows about the Fall of Reach with the cliffhanger being Chief and Cortana making it to the Pillar of Autumn, it getting breached by Covenant, and humans making it to Halo's surface. Season 3 would then be right in line with the video game.
Kia-125 will never match up to be Kurt-051. People liked Kurt, and his clairvoyance made him an important member of Blue Team. This Silver TL is "Bizarro World."
This was definitely a filler episode that didn't need to be stretched out as long as it did. There were some good moments of this episode, but they could have summed it up in the first quarter of the episode, and then the rest of the episode have Chief go find the ONI and meet up with Kai, etc. Here's to hoping that the rest of the episodes show Chief getting suited up again in full armor and reuniting with Kai. I've seen enough of Chief without his armor.
They mention in the show that Chief was actually unconscious for about 2 days. So he wasn't sent off during the fall of Reach. He missed it entirely lmfao. But dw, I'm sure they're going to the Halo ring justice, right?? Right?!?!?
Im glad you mentioned older school TV here. Shows like LOST were brilliant because they were able to include small, quiet character moments without derailing from the main story or the episode's plot. The small moments filled in the broad strokes of characterisation so we get to know the characters while feeling like we are peering through a window into who they are.
Couple of things I'm mulling over. Will give the built points. - Shamans in the show = the librarian in the game - Kia v Cheif showdown = Spartan Lock vs Cheif - the Dr is a permanent clone of herself ( her age is bothering me and Rizz comments on it in this ep)
Btw Quan talks about shield worlds when she's digging vanaks grave she says something like "you can't build an entire planet, its too big, u feel me?" And in season 1 when she goes the the weird which people on magical u can see a monitor so she probably got told all about the halos, shield worlds etc
I sometimes forget when you say "regular timeline" you mean the bronze timeline I was like "fuck u mean by Librarian chose humanity" then I was like right 343's lore
This is why the creators used Halo to tell their story, because they knew that Halo fans would be gullible enough to go and watch it and suck it up and continue watching it, even if it was more horrible than feces at the dump. If the creators made their own show, us Halo fans wouldn’t be watching it, but since it’s get the title “Halo” attached to it, they know we’ll all be dumb enough to check it out.
Another part is the arbiter is talking about how they failed their mission and are just coming back, but the whole point of the arbiter is either they succeed or die trying they don't fail
Oh also, way to completely disregard CPT Keys' final speech. "Oh look at John, his gonna fight and defend Reach without his armor!" Meanwhile John's thinking "fuck that I never cared for Keys or this planet, I'm gonna run away and find 1 kid"
I hope they don't give Kai Kurt,s death, I don't need to be reminded that Gary Stu existed and took all the attention away from other Spartans like Will.
I know who the monsters in the cave are supposed to represent. It's not supposed to be the Flood or the Alliance, because of course the producers have watched a video and know that the Zerg are lurking inside Onyx, waiting to be freed by the MasterChief. True story
With all the shamans and mystic nonsense it really seems like they (The writers) had their own story but needed to link it to the Halo I.P to it to get it made. And it was stupid to go back for Vannak honestly also I'm guessing Kai will now have her pellet re implanted as surely the new leader of the Spartan threes will have had a full medical. As for the Fall of Reach I guess it was just too expensive to film so easier to just leave to go to a frontier world.
One thing I haven’t seen talked about is that Soren’s kid (orphaned) got taken by the UNSC (ONI) which will probably mean he’s gonna become a spartan 3. Which Soren clearly doesn’t want.

I always wanted to see more of the Insurrectionist/other factions and their part in the Human Covenant war, and this show absolutely made them one of the worst parts that sideline the main plot to point it does so during the fall of Reach. It’s such a missed opportunity.
I will … eventually watch this show. Not looking forward to it but I gotta see it for myself. What seems to be the case is that the designers of the show from the cgi, the sounds, the sets, the props and costumes legitamtly love halo. The show runners on the other hand, the people making desisions on how the show plays out, don’t. They wanted their own sci Fi crap show and used halo as a sleeve for it.
When they arrive to the planet looking for Kessler it’s been 5 days since the attack on Reach. They say that chief has been out for 2 days, then 3 days when he wakes up the second time. Reach has done fallen.
I never thought about the fact Cortana had the coordinates for halo when she arrived on pillar of autumn, then minutes(or hours) later “ we made a -blind jump- how did we- “ Cortana steers the convo to the covenant ships.. it would make sense her being a copy of Halsey that in the midst of everything, she would endanger everyone pursuing knowledge. Crazy!
Aleria has been mentioned before in Halo canon. For example the bad guys in Nightfall were from there. As for the Kwan storyline, its clearly setting up the Flood. That's the Gravemind on the cave walls, devouring planets it looks like
The only way I can imagine the flood being in the tv series was with Keyes getting his face punched in by cheif once he was captured. The other missions with the flood could be written off entirely just by focusing on the covenant. (For the tv series) so my dreams of seeing the flood in the tv blew up with captain keyes in the hangar bay.
I always thought that cortana got the coordinates of halo from the rock that blue team recovered on signa octanus 4. That’s, i think, what it says in the fall reach book. Am i wrong with that? Is it confirmed that halsey found the coordinates in the forerunner ship on reach?
I don't watch the show, I wouldn't pay for it because I see reviews first and if it's worth it then I'll watch it. I just watch your reactions to it, they are gold! I would pay for that actually hahaha

Yes I cant even LAN halo infinite they deleted LAN completely…. 343 even promised never to delete splitscreen again after halo 5 then surprise after we paid for the game they did it again
This is just consistent with 343i vision with Halo. The reason why it seems ok in Halo 4 is because 343i was subtly retconning everything Bungie did, especially the story. Original Halo fans during Bungie should never forget that Forerunner’s were humans in the original story not a different species. The term reclaimer was meant because you were reclaiming what humans once had. 343 Guilty Spark even says in Halo CE “Last time you asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed.” So 343 guilty Spark doesn’t know the difference between a forerunner and human in the new lore 🤔. C3SABERTOOTH has great videos about the original Bungie story and 343i retcons. 343i just loves the generic “chosen one” well in this case “blessed one” stories. Look at the drastic change when Frank O’Conner took the lead from Bungie’s Joe Staten. Forerunner’s retconned. Master Chief gets told he was the culmination on the Librarian’s plans 1000’s of years ago. Makes our hero into an untouchable being. When before it was, just lucky. It’s all like a superhero story. Oh look Halo 5 was written by Brian Reed who wrote Marvel comics. 343i lacks originality. Everything with these stories has been intentional. Kiki Wolfkill the 343i producer of Halo 4, Nightfall, Halo 5 is running this TV show. It’s all consistent with 343i behaviour and it is done by design.
"lets make a halo show but strip it from literally everything the millions of fans love and appreciate. oh and it will be an alternate universe so we can fuck it up even more" paramount seriously needs to STOP while they are ahead. IVE WAITED OVER 20 YEARS FOR A DECENT HALO SHOW AND THIS IS THE PLATE OF WHALE SHIT WE ARE HANDED? absolutely disappointing. the word "disappointing" doesnt even come close to describing the amount of disappointment this show brings
The interior of the Covenant ship reminds me of the bridge set from the recent iterations of Star Trek...but given that they're both produced by Paramount, it's probably them borrowing the set to save costs.
Season 2 Finale in a nutshell: Episode length: 3 minutes and 43 seconds *camera shot of Installation 04* *camera pans out to show a MASSIVE guardian sized slipspace rift appear* *Kwan (no starship, literally just Kwan) emerges from slipspace and uses neural physics to contact the Chief and the entire UNSC fleet* Kwan: “I’ve found it.” *SEASON END*
Definitely the Hopium talking here but I really like the idea of teasing “the monster” with Kwan’s story as potentially being The Flood but it’s probably just The Covenant which is unfortunate because the discovery of The Flood in CE was awesome
Well, if you want to watch a short film on the Fall of Reach that has a great story, SODAZ did a fan animation called Remember. It's about 30 minutes and unlike the show, it actually sticks to the source material. If you played Halo Reach before, you will cry.

Non halo fans have zero clue anything about the covenant , why is it just elites , until one moment jackals appear. And one random lone brute ? I’ve played the game and don’t remember brutes partnering with cov before hunters , woulda been cooler to see.
Anyways audience has no clue who the cov are, or why the arbiter is special. An episode dedicated to why he his with makee in first place would have been better than this 5th emotional dealings of reach episode we got.
This reminds me a lot of the Witcher tbh. Show had problems but audience made it clear how to improve. S2E1 starts out absolutely perfect… then bam, straight downhill every episode after.
Guess we can forgot about the Great Schism
@@wimvangelder I didn't even think of that..... Man....
@@CrispedRanger96 He's not Thel Vadam. Silver Timeline n stuff. I am curious as to how this Elite became Arbiter. That's what this show should cover, not filler on Aleria.
Kwan is going to become the gravemind
My favorite part of the Halo series: they came out of the gate and said “yeah it’s not canon, it’s an alternate universe”
That was super considerate of them, because before it even aired, I was able to throw it out into my mental landfill with all the other bad adaptations that just were just wanting to swindle money out of its fanbase.
Because corporations hate fans, and they don't want to take risks nor accountability.
IF they went out and tried to create something of their own, some shitty B rated sci fi nobody would give them the time of day. The only reason people even acknowledge this show existing is because it has "Halo" as the title. Nothing more.
@@lolimadethisvid Indeed, why make something new and original when you can just rely on a franchise that already works? Shit's fucked.
Totally agree. To me, any screen with ‘Han’ I skip because it has absolutely no use to the main story. Everything with her is Filler and should be removed
Maybe if the show is so set on being progressive we could get a kwan and Perez scene 🎬 😮
The episode had me saying wtf twice which is a huge step up. I mean the worst one for me was Kwan magically using a shovel to dig in frozen dirt to bury the one guy. I can’t believe we will not see chief in the pillar of autumn. The very first time we ever see chief and the show doesn’t wanna do it
And not to mention I don’t think she ever met vannak 😂
@@helljumper_212th7I think he struggles with live action and is probably better working with animation.
I honestly couldnt recognize this episode as halo at all, it was just so bizarre to see what happened
The community needs to come together and make their own halo show that’s true to halo
I think the closest thing we have at the moment is HaloFollower's Noble Timeline series.
Or sodaz remember halo fanfilm on youtube
Kia-125 will never match up to be Kurt-051. People liked Kurt, and his clairvoyance made him an important member of Blue Team. This Silver TL is "Bizarro World."
what I found interesting was the arbiters interaction this episode.
kwan saying "come with me if you want to live" made me shed a tear
Kwan is 100% a Mary Sue self-insert character by some female writer with an eternal chip on her shoulder.
Right?!?!?
all the marines dying believing that master cheeks is out there fighting along with them after Jaycub Keys inspired them by using his name lol
- Shamans in the show = the librarian in the game
- Kia v Cheif showdown = Spartan Lock vs Cheif
- the Dr is a permanent clone of herself ( her age is bothering me and Rizz comments on it in this ep)
Btw Quan talks about shield worlds when she's digging vanaks grave she says something like "you can't build an entire planet, its too big, u feel me?" And in season 1 when she goes the the weird which people on magical u can see a monitor so she probably got told all about the halos, shield worlds etc
"You cant bury an entire planet"
Is the quote, its just more of her complaining about Madrigal
@@chromicm6686 ohh that makes sense, of course it about Madrigal🙄

Is it just me or does it look like that woman or man next to Sorren is cheeked up? Gyat damn...
I'm assuming that's Riz. I should really pay attention, but my mind tends to wander and go places for no good reason.
My dad and sister are watching this with me and know absolutely nothing about Halo and they keep asking me what’s going on and I can’t help them lmao.
Probably because the show with title Halo on it is not a good show at and it’s plot makes no sense.
Sad that this show is what will be remembered about Halo outside of the amazing core story of the game trilogy.
Illaria was the Halo TV show's Canto Bight. Tell me I'm wrong.
Quantity is the queen Chef, don't you realize by now. And John will only be cool when Cortana takes control again
Another part is the arbiter is talking about how they failed their mission and are just coming back, but the whole point of the arbiter is either they succeed or die trying they don't fail
each new episode just bewilders me in ways that I didn't think were possible.
Reminds me of when the remade ghostbusters with an all female cast…
Bro is this RuneScape music I'm hearing in the intro?
Oh also, way to completely disregard CPT Keys' final speech. "Oh look at John, his gonna fight and defend Reach without his armor!" Meanwhile John's thinking "fuck that I never cared for Keys or this planet, I'm gonna run away and find 1 kid"
I hope they don't give Kai Kurt,s death, I don't need to be reminded that Gary Stu existed and took all the attention away from other Spartans like Will.
You are doing great work watching this so I don't have to
The fall of reach is literally the equivalent of a near extinction event for humanity and yet the spartans are off doing side quests 💀
I swear, this show is like if you asked AI to re-tell the story of halo
Ai would have done a better job tbh.
They're not make Soren's son a spartan 3 are they? 💀
One thing I haven’t seen talked about is that Soren’s kid (orphaned) got taken by the UNSC (ONI) which will probably mean he’s gonna become a spartan 3. Which Soren clearly doesn’t want.
Sadly this somewhat interesting plot line is overshadowed by the dogshit of the main story.
@@Dabomb8008 Nah the show is good, but interesting pick up Soren's take up being taken for the Spartan 3 program where the HiddenXperia "the Lore Expert" didn't 😂.
Too much whining and crying about what WASN'T in the episode to talk about what was actually in it.
@@hoos3014show is dogshit. It’s not halo. It feels like a fever dream watching master chief crying
@@ashtonshepherd675 His whining and crying attracts crybaby followers. Thanks for confirming.
I always wanted to see more of the Insurrectionist/other factions and their part in the Human Covenant war, and this show absolutely made them one of the worst parts that sideline the main plot to point it does so during the fall of Reach. It’s such a missed opportunity.
This show making me so sad. So much potential to make a great halo story and the writers decided go with this…
I totally forgot this show was still airing..
"She's just belt dumping it" you could say she's giving them the whole 9 yards 😂
The MG she's holding is like the halo 2 MG. Just throwing it out there
HiddenX: "I really hope Riz isn't gone cause her armor was my fave". Lol
Crazy!
I was loving it. It was actually pretty awesome season but the moment they killed Keyes my excitement died
The games override the book lore. So bungie changed that part when they made halo reach.
I don't care what anyone else thinks but seeing the spartan 3 army at the end got me so hyped!
I don't watch the show, I wouldn't pay for it because I see reviews first and if it's worth it then I'll watch it.
I just watch your reactions to it, they are gold! I would pay for that actually hahaha
Why have world building, intricate stories with deep lore when you can simplify everything to a chosen one story
I honestly liked the Spartan III Army reveal at the end
Not only have we had to watch halo destroyed by 343 and splitscreen deleted and LAN deleted but we have to watch this paramount steaming pile of crap 💩
Totally agree 343 purposefully deleted both LAN and splitscreen to make people pay through the nose monthly
@@alantracy6757my feelings exactly
Yes I cant even LAN halo infinite they deleted LAN completely…. 343 even promised never to delete splitscreen again after halo 5 then surprise after we paid for the game they did it again
This show is dope
@@razedbywolves1384 if by “dope “ you mean boring badly written dreary trash then yep it is, I quit paramount forever already
At this point they probably aren’t even going to the halo ring.
I’ve described this show to friends being like a messed up Halo fever dream where you know your dreaming but you can’t wake up.
Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed.”
So 343 guilty Spark doesn’t know the difference between a forerunner and human in the new lore 🤔.
"lets make a halo show but strip it from literally everything the millions of fans love and appreciate. oh and it will be an alternate universe so we can fuck it up even more"
paramount seriously needs to STOP while they are ahead.
Season 2 Finale in a nutshell:
Episode length: 3 minutes and 43 seconds
*camera shot of Installation 04*
*camera pans out to show a MASSIVE guardian sized slipspace rift appear*
*Kwan (no starship, literally just Kwan) emerges from slipspace and uses neural physics to contact the Chief and the entire UNSC fleet*
Kwan: “I’ve found it.”
*SEASON END*
Camp Currahee, that’s interesting reference to Band of Brothers.
Runescape music in the background at the start 😂
Definitely the Hopium talking here but I really like the idea of teasing “the monster” with Kwan’s story as potentially being The Flood but it’s probably just The Covenant which is unfortunate because the discovery of The Flood in CE was awesome
Kessler goes with UNSC, he might have signed up for spartan 3 program. He has an affinity for the Spartans.
Well, if you want to watch a short film on the Fall of Reach that has a great story, SODAZ did a fan animation called Remember. It's about 30 minutes and unlike the show, it actually sticks to the source material. If you played Halo Reach before, you will cry.
i think kai is unfortunately gonna go the way of kurt by the end of the season (pre-mortem rip best character), and then after the CE section they'll bring in Kelly Linda and Fred. no clue why they didnt just have them there at the beginning but i guess its a roundabout way to get there. We'll see
This is the logic plague that made Mendicant turn on the forerunners
I don’t think this episode really isn’t that bad, one of the better ones. Sure you miss more reach but you can’t stick with it. I like the arbiter, it sucks she is there but it’s not as bad as last season
I think after 2 days of glassing (remember that’s how long Chief was out) there’s no one left on reach to save
I don’t see the new episode on mine 🤔
Didn't Cortana find the coordinates to Alpha Halo on a rock that a Hunter pair were trying to transmit to the Covenant?
