    This is great! As a new skater, steep big hills terrify me. Watching you go through the different methods was very useful to try to now and apply to my
    Skating journey. Thanks!

    I’m a total beginner. I think I will take my skates off and walk downhill. POSITIVE: good on any surface, safe, does not wear wheels NEGATIVE: slow, boring, wears on socks/foot sole
    Great video thanks!

      Side ways skates on is always an option also. But thanks for funny comment :D 😄

      @@davidhumphries6371 while you build confidence try some lightweight slip on type shoes. I take some on long trips skating for if I want to be somewhere they won’t let me on them etc they fit in my camelbak hydration pack and I don’t notice them till I need them. Obviously wouldn’t make sense to take them off on all hills but the crazy long steep stuff it would work for you. Also means you can loop your skate buckle to you bag straps and away you go 👊 thank me later.

      @@davidhumphries6371 side note: a bag may have a small effect on your balance at first but not a lot if you keep it light. Also go for one that sits tight to your back not hanging around pulling you backwards 👍

    Think slalom is best going down hill as it has very less impact on wheels compared to anything else. Only issue is, it takes too much space

    • @paulblichmann2791
      @paulblichmann2791 Месяц назад

      if you slalom with actual ski technique it munches the wheels maybe as bad as slides. It puts deep scars into the wheels. You can look up and see dozens of urethane marks on the road. Probably because your outside wheel gets full weight, plus your compression, plus the g-force of the turn.

    You can also powerslide with both skates (like ice skaters and skiers). It's the fastest and possibly coolest looking way to stop but requires a lot of skill, commitment, and finesse as each surface reacts differently.

    Most of the paths are not even so a lot of these methods are difficult. Like t-stop method on very uneven surface is going to be hard for a beginner especially. The slow plow might be the answer to start on the bad roads/paths and grass when available. Turning is ideal on a road as well but you need no cars and it doesn't work on paths. Also you can look behind you when you powerslide you don't need to go blind.

    • @rullikutt
      @rullikutt  Месяц назад

      Good comment. I can't actually do a slow plow when the slope is steep. It requires a lot of flexibility imo. And You are right about the powerslide. It is possible to look behind. Maybe not too good but it is possible :)

    • @Zig423
      @Zig423 17 дней назад

      Good tips but I think really if someone is learning and still hasn’t got that balance for t-stops on a rough surface then a brake imo would be best until they have mastered some of these tips.
