Thanks for the video. Went to Sir John A McDonalds HS in the 90s and this is where we hung out on the weekends. I now live in Houston, TX but this brings back memories.

That school is now closed. Most of the kids were shifted to Westdale or other schools. The downtown core is unrecognizable of how it was in the 1990s. Lots more street people. Violence occurs regularly in the mall and library.

You couldn't move in Jackson Square on a Saturday. Then limeridge mall was built and changed that! The mall needs a major architectural change especially to the exterior. With the amount of downtown condos going up in the next few years the mall will see crowds again . They should plan for that . 5:30

That is closed. That was in the Bay and King area of the mall. They used to have an ice skating rink on the top floor. Nations is still going strong. It is the only grocery store near the mall.

Use to actually have fully carpeted floors many many years ago. They got so grotty, then they changed to hard floors. It used to be packed with people! I remember going the Marks and Spencer store in the 1970’s.

That mall used to be so busy in the 80s and my favourite place to watch movies until the huge cinemas opened elsewhere. Brings back memories for sure. Sad to see so empty

No way that will ever happen. Too many punters and too many shoplifters.

The Toronto PATH system also looks empty nowadays without the office workers on site, maybe re-visit next year to see more pedestrian and retail. Nations is a great market.

What a dump of a once great mall. The Eaton Centre Mall (or Hamilton City Centre) closed last year for a condo development. Freshii moved out. Nations has a lost a lot of business since the lockdown in 2020. There are many closed stores. It all went down hill when Eaton's closed in 2001. The vendors I know are trying to hang on but it is difficult. The market and library have reduced hours. There are street people with nothing to do everywhere. And there are increased levels of violent crime in the downtown core. Yet condo building keep getting built and rents continue to skyrocket.
