Dead is dead. Concord and Anthem are to me dead games. If the developer or publisher stops supporting a game the game is dead. The playerbase being very low isn't dead it's still technically active. Helldivers lowest was practically at what arrowhead expected at launch and still larger than Helldivers 1 ever peaked... hd2 never was dead...

City biomes were in the first game, they should absolutely come back. There was nothing else like fighting Illuminate on Super Earth itself. Good times.
Regarding sound, I'd love for large bugs, from Bile Spewers to Chargers, to Bile Titans to stop using stealth mode and appearing right behind me constantly while making no sound at all. We should at least be able to hear the legs of any bug scurrying around in our vicinity; especially the big ones. Also, I'd like to hear differences between the enemy sounds. Any bug larger than a hunter sounds exactly the same. I'd like to know which type I'm dealing with if I'm close enough to hear them. Regarding the bots, I don't know; I don't play them. I'll return to bots when they're fun ( if that ever happens).
Heck yeah to this. Playing the other night, scoping a few shots and get rammed and killed by a stealth charger making zero sounds. Cows make more noise when they walk. Insane.
I recommend you to start playing bots, i'm always hesitant about switching from bugs to bots cuz they're quite hard actually, but they're the only time playing this game that i feel like i'm in an actual warzone and a good bots match pumps you up in a way that i don't think bugs can. Plus, a shit ton of weapons are viable in the bot front so that's something
The game needs content explaining the galactic war. I would guess only 10% of the players know about planetary decay rates or that the defensive gambit exists.
Noise Dampener would be really cool I can imagine it would work like how a sentry can be deployed to a swarm of bugs/ bots. Enabling the player to emit less sound so they attract less of a reaction to dozens of enemies. They can be closer to the action and laying out more enemies rather than the typical run and shoot
I think the noise dampener on the "warbond" is so you can call in support weapons and backpack without alerting nearby enemies, hellpods landing are one of the loudest noises you'll make early game, it would make a huge difference for slightly hot drops, especially if you had an invisibility backpack
i do recall a city biome from helldivers 1 when super earth is under attack. Unlike in the suburbs shown in the cutscenes it's actually all dense city blocks with huge 1-wide roads that are wide enough to fit airdropped tanks. These blocks are sometimes broken up by green or concrete parks that contain your objectives.
All Phantom Vanguard stuff would work great IMO, would be very strong but also balanced, all the buffs would only be effective as long as you're stealthy but useless when you're in the middle of a fight: > The silenced weapons would be self-explanatory and essential for the rest of the stuff to work. > The two backpacks would be activated with the space bar (like the jetpack) or "5" (like the ammo backpack) on keyboard and would need to recharge between uses. One would make you invisible for a minute or less, but still noisy if you run, but deactivate if you shoot or do similar actions (unless you use the silenced weapons). The other one would do the opposite, all your sounds would be muffled but everyone would still see you, so you can run around behind the enemies without them noticing you but as soon as you enter their field of view they would aggro. > The grenade would spawn a hologram that keeps shouting all the Helldivers' iconic lines and attract any enemies that can hear or see it. > The Booster is quite self explanatory too, the whole squad would do bonus damage as long as they're not detected by enemies, so it would be extremely powerful when used with the rest of the stuff but useless if you just go guns blazing.
Something that’s stuck with me that I had hear a while back from one of my teachers: “we are most critical of those that do really well because they were *this* close, they only have/did a few things wrong and we just a few tweaks would be at or near perfection” I like to think that stands a least a little bit for games like this. People love the game and want to see it do well, and they want to have fun, but that just means that they are going to end up looking for the wrong because they just want it to be an even better game. I’ve been trying to get into the habit personally of finding and embracing the things that a game does well, but even I’ve found myself leaning back into the “if they just change this one little thing…” mindset.
My main problem with the bots has always been they're dead silent footsteps. Seriously. These are walking hunks of metal, yet they move around like ninjas. And no, I'm not talking about just the scrub bots, I'm talking devastators and Hulks. They're literally giant hunks of walking metal with almost no sound at all to their footsteps. They need some serious audible sound boost, so they actually sound like real terminators walking around.
The hippo reference is to a real life baby hippo in a Thailand zoo where they are trying to breed pygmy hippo's since they are endangered. The name "Moo Deng" means "bouncy pig/pork" lol. Their natural habitat is in african plains but the zoo in Thailand is breeding them to help. The zoo is now trying to copyright the name "Moo Deng" aka name of the hippo, so they can make a bunch of merch to help support the zoo.
I think I'd want those deployable cover walls first before we get city biomes vs bots. Those streets would be lethal kill tunnels, but as long as we had some protection, my god, the Eagle strafing run would be a beast.
A city environment would be great especially if it added verticality with objectives at the top of high rises. Urban combat also offers the potential for a switch up to all combat encounters as urban environments require different strategies than open fields
I would love a city, but that might be a bit much. How about a small village or a colony. A bunch of prefab buildings, dirt roads, densely packed. And maybe not the size of an entire map but about on par with the maga bases the bugs and bots have. Have a side objective or extract in there and boom. We have a quick and dirty CQC until it's all leveled by the fighting.
I’d like either a power armor stratagem or a set of armor (in the customisation part) that’s perk is run faster for longer, dive further and reduced recoil while standing. If it was a stratagem it would be the above but with a sort of jump pack installed and increased melee damage, and further grenade/stratagem throw distance.

Anyone else been getting bugged evac VIP missions? We’ll do the first two objectives and when it comes time to evacuate the 30 people instead of hitting switches and 3 people coming out at a time until we evacuate 30 of them we get a mission accomplished message and are able to extract. This used to be my favorite mission but it’s waaaaay too easy now
I would kill for a stealth warbond. Id really want it to come with a stealth melee weapon. Critical damage from stealth wouldnt really matter since from stealth you should have the time to place headshots already. Also the [Redacted] title is hilarious. Id throw that on permanently.

We need to fix the connection issue where you can not have any new players join your game unless you start the game. I'm tired of getting through halfway into a dive, and everyone lags out, and I can't get help no matter if a s.o.s is called or not.
the only bug it botheer me is the one that put you out of the map in one second, i hate when that happens cause the samples are lost in the proces, btw if that happen to you, drop the sample as soon you start flying, that can garante you for maybe, just maybe, get it back
The SMG's well they might lack in DPS but them being one handed is a big boon they work wonders against the bots when paired with the Ballistic Shield (especially the Pummeler)
For some reason when I dropped into a couple of missions yesterday I couldn’t use stratagems or run. I restarted my game and it was fixed, first time I’ve seen that issue.

im not sure if someone stated this or not , as i did was able to destroy the bot (gunbship) + terminade (spore spewer / shreiker nest) with the Crossbow (only after the latestpatch) the gunship (can be 1 shoot ) if hitting the engine - (you need to lead the arrow as it is slow) termanide - spore spewer / shrieker nest - takes around 6/7 shots on the top part side note : farthest bot fabricator that can be killed is around 400M (with EAT / recoilless / commando)
Managed to call down three hellbombs next to those demon bird nests tonight. Not sure if that is a bug or not. Three of us called it in at the same time. Interesting wipe.

The sound ain't the problem, if I'm close to edge of map I think they just spawn behind me (no warning) and instantly shred me because I play helldive diff. The game should recognise I'm there and move to a diff spawn further away.
I cannot tell you how many times in the past week or so that I have been killed because an enemy was able to walk up right behind me without making a noise. For a game that’s been out for almost 8 months now, this is unacceptable.
They should give the Vanguard Sniper rifle or the AMR tungsten carbide ammunition that would penetrate and kill 3 or 4 enemies with one shot given they in the path of the bullet. This will buff the snipers, but still keep it balanced as you still need to line up a few enemies to get that multiple kill shot.
Next warbond will likely be about smoke. I also think a warbond themed around firepower with no extra elemental gimmicks could be sick. We could get a mini gun! It would defo help against bots.
As a stealth player, I wouldn't use half of those warbond ideas and leads to questioning what they actually do to get a more real opinion. Like what was the decoy grenade do? Is it a just very loud like a siren? That's cool but there's also flash/stun or smoke grenades for when we do get detected. Cloak backpack seems like a waste of space when the right armor is suppose to cloak you with camo in the right environment. Noise dampener as a stratagem? Why don't we have that as a booster instead and combine it with the 'Critical Stealth Damage' instead. I don't want to waste a stratagem slot to dampen my footsteps. . . that sounds like a terrible trade for another stratagem that could be far more useful. Then god not another recolor of that same stealth cloak we already have. . . we already have two of them, I don't want a third that's just black. Then lastly, Is that a harmless smoke grenade launcher as a primary? Odd trade as well. as for the rest? Ya, I can see myself maybe using them.
It’s so far from a dead game people are ignorant. I quit for months just came back and having a blast like I was at launch. Still amazes me it took this long for them to figure this out but seems they finally understand.
I feel like a cool change would be the bugs would evolve during the mission. For example the bugs start small then the more you complete the more the big bois come until the end where your running for your life against smoke chargers and very angry bile's. Same with bots but instead of bigger more infantry like mortars.

Sound needs a lot of love. There is nothing like a finding out a Bile Titan snuck up on you because it steps on you.

@@Sublime_Light That’s just how it goes sometimes. I used to be into developing for small games. It is often like that actually, that’s why there are testing branches so you can fix the new bugs before update release.

I don’t know how well a decoy grenade would work because some enemy might see decoy and cause a bug breach/bot drop
im not sure if someone stated this or not , as i did was able to destroy the bot (gunbship) + terminade (spore spewer / shreiker nest) with the Crossbow (only after the latestpatch)
the gunship (can be 1 shoot ) if hitting the engine - (you need to lead the arrow as it is slow)
termanide - spore spewer / shrieker nest - takes around 6/7 shots on the top part
side note :
farthest bot fabricator that can be killed is around 400M (with EAT / recoilless / commando)

Managed to call down three hellbombs next to those demon bird nests tonight. Not sure if that is a bug or not. Three of us called it in at the same time. Interesting wipe.

Yeah was wondering what happened last night with the network. Was gonna finally get on after not being on over the weekend and then bummed out that I couldn't. Glad it's back on tho.
The sound ain't the problem, if I'm close to edge of map I think they just spawn behind me (no warning) and instantly shred me because I play helldive diff. The game should recognise I'm there and move to a diff spawn further away.
It's impossible for a patrol to spawn close behind you because of the game's spawning system, maybe it's just some patrol that sneaks up on you
I cannot tell you how many times in the past week or so that I have been killed because an enemy was able to walk up right behind me without making a noise. For a game that’s been out for almost 8 months now, this is unacceptable.
That phantom warbond is sick man
use the laser primary and secondary I could be wrong but it seems to have to not make enough noise to alert sometimes
They should give the Vanguard Sniper rifle or the AMR tungsten carbide ammunition that would penetrate and kill 3 or 4 enemies with one shot given they in the path of the bullet. This will buff the snipers, but still keep it balanced as you still need to line up a few enemies to get that multiple kill shot.

Next warbond will likely be about smoke. I also think a warbond themed around firepower with no extra elemental gimmicks could be sick. We could get a mini gun! It would defo help against bots.
As a stealth player, I wouldn't use half of those warbond ideas and leads to questioning what they actually do to get a more real opinion. Like what was the decoy grenade do? Is it a just very loud like a siren? That's cool but there's also flash/stun or smoke grenades for when we do get detected. Cloak backpack seems like a waste of space when the right armor is suppose to cloak you with camo in the right environment. Noise dampener as a stratagem? Why don't we have that as a booster instead and combine it with the 'Critical Stealth Damage' instead. I don't want to waste a stratagem slot to dampen my footsteps. . . that sounds like a terrible trade for another stratagem that could be far more useful. Then god not another recolor of that same stealth cloak we already have. . . we already have two of them, I don't want a third that's just black. Then lastly, Is that a harmless smoke grenade launcher as a primary? Odd trade as well.
as for the rest? Ya, I can see myself maybe using them.
Another fix they could incluse is the crash that log you out of the game just at the end of it ^^
It’s so far from a dead game people are ignorant. I quit for months just came back and having a blast like I was at launch. Still amazes me it took this long for them to figure this out but seems they finally understand.

I feel like a cool change would be the bugs would evolve during the mission. For example the bugs start small then the more you complete the more the big bois come until the end where your running for your life against smoke chargers and very angry bile's. Same with bots but instead of bigger more infantry like mortars.

I mean it's already pretty hard for any enemy to close the gap and hit you, so it makes sense that they deal lots of damage (also fills glasscannon power fantasy).

Bruh blasting a bunch of bugs and randomly getting deleted by a charger because they don’t make sound is so frustrating. That shit weighs thousands of pounds the damn ground should be shaking and I definitely should atleast hear it storming towards me😂
