I put this on while cleaning the kitchen. Now all the washing up is done, the table is spotless, the trash has been taken out and incinerated, my lawn is covered with Super Earth flags, my street is covered in bug corpses and bomb craters, and now my town is +0.002% more democratic.
So this confirms my theory that the extraction theme is kinda dynamic, because I have had this feeling that it changed according to how much mob spawners there are, how many people alive, if the pelican has arrived or not, and it's so subtle
The theme varies so many different times i could make multiple mixes from the recordings i have and not one be exactly the same! Its a extremely well done soundtrack.
Distance might play a part too. I know if you run out of time and Pelican-1 auto-deploys the music is a lot different while you're sprinting to the extraction zone
4:52 you're 30~40 seconds left on extraction, you're already struggling with the current wave, and then the game says "I think you didn't understand, I said fuck you" and throws the maximum number of titans and hulks at your face for good measure
Thats why me and my gaming group always make sure to save one orbital laser used for extraction, throw 4 down at once and it is akin to a delete button for absolutely everything. Combine with even a few airstrikes or whatever you have left and you can expect extraction to be clean enough to eat a meal off of.
Oh man imagine a mission where to extract you have to drive there similar to the warthog run. Ridiculously increased spawn rates for all enemies as they shoot/jump at you.
I just wish they would record multiple takes of the songs so it feels like a live soundtrack and not just a recording. Just to mix it up for those who'll put in 1,000 hours into the game and experience hundreds of extractions.

@@fang_xianfu It happens on higher difficulties as well lmao. Patrols spawn in the direction of remaining outposts/bug nests. If there are none left, they spawn from the edge of the map, but there is a "safety zone" around players that prevents spawning (to stop patrols spawning ON players like they did at launch). If this safety zone obstructs the edge of the map then no patrols spawn. This happens on difficulty 9 as well as every other one.

bro our pelican last night wouldn't land because of a hellpod one millimeter above ground below it. We couldn't get in the pelican. we could dive into it and nothing would happen. so we killed bugs for 15 minutes straight until our very last life. we were overran twice and took back the pelican twice. it never let us extract. it was just never ending extraction.
Just had one. A hell bomb nicked the pelican as it landed, causing the pelican to catch fire and become inoperable (none of us could enter it.) We were then forced to endure bots endlessly swarming us while we tried desperately to get the pelican to work, only to be left behind after 16 minutes of holding the line. Difficulty 6

Huh, so that is why the music doesn't get all that repetitive, aside from the beginning of extract, there are a tonne of ques that can occur, making every extract soundtrack slightly different
The game has like 90 minutes of different track segments for stuff like this. The gamerip is almost entirely audio clips that can be assembled in nearly infinite combinations.
It’s mainly 2 things. This game uses music stems to react to certain scenarios like a bile titan spawning or a horde showing up during extraction, which is done by the audio engineering team. The composer also has experience making music for games that uses music stems so the transitions are even smoother!
Music that plays dynamically during is such a blessing. I haven't played the game yet and still this music got me pumped, can't wait till I actually play through that.@@nolanalmeida777

Like your very first extraction this music played and you immediately knew the game would make you work hard for your extraction. And then the 1000th time you hear it, you still know, you'll have to work for it.
They should add flag levels at higher difficulties, you have to carry the flag across the map and the flag takes like 10 minutes to raise while you have a last stand at a point with this music, and the Pelican just shows up like on other defense missions
Hearing the track at 12:02 has always made me give the biggest sigh of pure RELIEF...no other game has come close to this feeling of finally extracting after going through hell.

Extraction is my favorite part, its so epic. The struggle to keep the samples (assuming people dont just drop them). I personally love using the mounted HMG for those epic final stands goes great with the music

After all tomfuckery, extraction is called, and looking up, all I can see was shriekers, filling up the sky as living cloud.
I don't remember how I made into pelican, just shooting machine guns to sky hoping it would kill some.

Extraction is my favorite part, its so epic. The struggle to keep the samples (assuming people dont just drop them). I personally love using the mounted HMG for those epic final stands goes great with the music
