Where are my fellow band nerds at??! Hope you guys enjoy this version of Sousa’s Manhattan Beach march for two piccolos :) Don’t forget to us code “KTFL” when shopping at the Flute Center of New York for free shipping, an extended 10 trial period, extended 18 month warranty, AND a shout out on my Instagram :)
I'm not allowed to join bad this year but the band teacher was kind enough to lend me the only oboe in the school district! I dont play flute but i enjoy your videos!
Beautiful playing. I thought it was really neat the way you kept switching parts. I wouldn't have known it without looking at the fingerings because your sounds were so identical.
Where can I get this arrangement? Its amazing! My friend and I played fluid and piccolo in high school together. We have not seen each other in 39 years. We have played over the phone! One of these days we would like to get together and play. This piece would be perfect! Thanks so much for the videos. I love them! Susee
Love the arrangement of Manhattan Beach. We just played this last quarter in one of the community bands that I am in. LOLing at the comment about the 14k gold mechanism on the Powell being super fancy (but to be fair it is fancy).
I loved the arrangement and you both sounded awesome. I have tried both piccolos(not that exact Burkhart) and honestly I lean towards the Nagahara Mini more. Since it is definitely something I want to purchase in the future and the design which allows the piccolo to do more. But I have say Burkhart makes some really good piccolos also.
Hi Katie ! I really like this vidéo ! I am playing in a Navy Band in Québec city (Canada) and I would like to know were to find this arrangement for two piccolo. It's so nice.
Hi Jean-Philippe! I'm so glad that you like the arrangement! Shoot Kyle an email at knruggles@gmail.com and I think he should be able to hook you up :)
Was Kyle also playing a piccolo? I've never seen one with more than one key down at the bottom of the right hand I wondered if that was one of those nagara little flute

Why did you not credit your fellow player in the CREDITS with a link to follow what he does? Little bit ... selfish?
I have always love Sousa for his unabashed use of the piccolo in a brass heavy instrumentation.
It is piccolo heaven!
right??! 😂

Drooling over his piccolo. Fine instrument!
ALSO if you want to play this duet you can get the sheet music here! kylerugglesflute.com/store
Not anymore! The Bandzoogle account has expired. Do you have another source for this music?
Following up! Is there another way to get the music?
I got my first piccolo from them. Its a gemeinhardt. It is amazing!
Oooo I have one too

Who doesn't like Sousa when you play the flute or the piccolo?
So many memories from marching band season coming back! This is a fantastic arrangement and you two really made it come to life! Keep on playing 🎶

That's awesome! I never got to play this march in a band, but maybe one day :D

Very cool! I'd never seen a piccolo that goes below D
Sounds easier than the this duet I'm playing right now aww man I knew I should've searched more now I'm stuck playing
( the fluttering bird's )
Every time I hear a Sousa march I think of my band director saying stop, you’re playing it wrong, and go back and start again.
Do you happen to have a link to sheet music for this?
wow! this is insane!
Good job.
a low B piccolo!!

MR. RUGGLES! He is the absolute best!
he says hi!!!!!!
Hi Katie, thx for the vid. Could you please review FMC flutes?
Yay Nagahara Mini !! 🙌🏻 how would you compare Nagahara Mini to other piccolos? I have been playing on a Mini for almost 3 yrs now :)
I liked it! I'm not the best judge of piccolos since I don't play them often 😂
Was Kyle also playing a piccolo? I've never seen one with more than one key down at the bottom of the right hand I wondered if that was one of those nagara little flute
Is the arrangement for sale?
where do you find this music
Im going to get a piccolo in high school
I would love to play piccolo, but it would be my third instrument if we don't count my recorder and my father's guitar... So, maybe in another life.
Trusty Quueens woah I think its definitely worth it to try learning
I've never seen the piccolo that he's using. 🧐
I'm in a marching band that uses Miller Browne marching flutes, I think that was a marching flute instead of a piccolo
sad my teacher won't let me play piccolo because she says it'll ruin my flute tone :( lmao
