I am on a public transport right now and recently I am experiencing really bad anxiety, especially in a public places. My tinnitus would go wild for a moment and it can be hard to breathe. So that's why I am listening to the fireplace right now and reading these warm comments. Thank you for being kind, we need more kindness and love in our daily lives.
I love to have the house dark at night and just sit there looking at the fire...gives me peace..draws me to prayer..i will pray for your peace.
I know it often seems that we’re at the mercy of our mind rather than in control of it- but that is just a bad habit of thought. You can always always choose to shift your focus to something different than what’s triggering you. (I say this as a person who suffered- NEEDLESSLY- for years with “depression and severe anxiety and agoraphobia ”-and who’s had a few traumatic experiences I could easily get mentally mired in.)
You can stop the looping (that amps up the anxiety) by acknowledging you’re driving the bus of your mind, you get to pick what you focus on. The second you feel that “ramping up” of anxiety Stop. Take a long, slow, deep breath.
And say- out loud if you need to- “I get to pick what runs through my head and I pick xyz to focus on right now.” And list allllllll the reasons why you love xyz, why xyz makes you feel good.
You’re not looking to go from feeling horrible to bliss: the aim is to just stop the looping, regain control of your thoughts and reach for something that always soothes you.
The “xyz” can be anything- here’s a few of mine- my beautiful dogs, favorite coffee; my electric blanket on a cold winter’s night, my awesome violet Electra townie bicycle...
Little by little as you take back control of your thoughts, you’ll feel better more and more until you feel better more often than not.

Because my main struggle right now is indeed getting out of that loop, since I am very stubborn and tend to stick to the conclusions I have made, which are mostly negative.
As a creature I tend to feel "too much", so I am learning how to understand and tune down my emotions.
I am practicing mindfulness, but I admit, not as often as needed.
So thank you for sharing your experience with me, because I really want to help myself and be my own friend rather than an enemy.
I believe I will be able to shape my thinking into more friendly and caring friend.
Hopefully, one day I will be able to give right directions to others in need as well.

I really hope that the anxiety is much much better. It can come out of nowhere sometimes, mine has come back over the last three weeks and has been awful. It’s started to get better bit by bit, and this channel has helped me too. Mankind has used plain ole fire to stay warm by for thousands of years...the crackling sound and the whooshing of the flames along with the life-sustaining heat it gives off makes us all rest content, even with our eyes closed. Then, there's the natural warmth of the light that pleases and softens our eyes for sleep as it has always done. We've got it encoded to like a good fire, and keep some firewood around for a week or so worth during a cold snap. If it could afford it, I'd run it all Winter.
I don't want to admit how many sequences I spent verifying it's a 25 second loop.
There's a spark that adheres to the left back wall for a moment which is good to trigger off.

This is the best crackling fireplace I’ve ever seen. The framing of just the inner fireplace, the depth of field with things both in the foreground and background out of focus and just front logs and flames crisply in focus, and the SOUND!! So perfect!
