Great vid, thank you. Currently on the fence between one of these or an Ibanez AZ Prestige. The Fiore seems extremely capable and those pickups sound great. Tough call!
The Fiore is a beast! I did recently pick up one of the new Ibanez AZ47P1QM Premiums and did a video for it too…for half the money it’s as good as the Fiore IMO. Only con is it has gold hardware, but I have black hardware in mine and I think it looks awesome.
I bought the iris one, i was also looking for a light one, i was looking everyday on sweetwater i found one 6 lbs. 10oz. At my last gig there was a spot light on it and it look purple.
Sweet rig. great playing. Mine is on the way in Sugar Moon. pumped. Do you recall what exact set of Graphtech Ratios you ordered? also, where did you get the bone buttons? I did not see that on graphtech's site. I think the Sugar moon color would look great with bone/feaux bone buttons like yours. great idea!
I just got this regular 3x3 set - sweetwater.sjv.io/zNgezx Any of their 3x3 sets would work though. (Remember you’ll have to pop out the ferrules of the PRS tuners to swap them out though.) The bone buttons are from Collings Guitars…they don’t sell them as far as I know, I have a few sets that I’ve put on some of my guitars. Seems I remember PRS selling similar buttons (like they use on the core DGT guitars) but I could be wrong. Those would look good on the Sugar Moon. You could go for white Pearl buttons maybe too - those would be easier to find maybe.
Hello, awesome review ! Love it 👌. Have a few questions as I am a P90 style G style guitar love ....Isn’t the nut too thin ? I love 42-43 mm at nut ? Let me know what you think and if the single coils aren’t too thin and clear. I love fat sounding single coils...thanks for your answer and help. Cheers from France
Hey! I personally don’t feel like the nut is too thin. The 2 single coils definitely fall into the “classic single coil” sound to my ears…very clear, a lot of clarity. They have great tone - but I wouldn’t necessarily classify them as “fat”!
Hey Eric, I was wondering about the bridge pickup on the bridge pickup with overdrive has hum but when I go to parallel the hum go's away does yours do that'.
Not that I’ve noticed. I generally am using one of my Kemper’s which may do a good job of gating out hum, but on pickups that are noisy (say a P90 for example), usually I can hear some hum at times when playing before any gating might kick in, and I haven’t noticed any hum from it.
How do the single coils sound compare to the silver sky or strat single coils? Philip McKnight said they sound more like P-90s or a in between of single coil and humbuckers
They’re just very clear, articulate. Precise. More “modern” sounding compared to my Silver Sky. I mean, pickup sound is totally subjective - you really need to play both of them to know which YOU’RE going to prefer. Don’t worry about what us goofs on RUclips say! You gotta do what is right for you.
Thank you for sharing your views. Can you point to the exact tuners you reference? I have one in the Sugar Moon and my biggest pain point has been that it is a static electricity magnet. It gets noisy really quickly.
They’re just the 3x3 set of the Graphtech Ratio Locking tuners…they have either 3x3 or 6 inline, and both types come in either locking or non-locking. I get them wherever has them in stock, but Sweetwater usually does. You WILL have to remove the ferrules out of the headstock after taking off the stock tuners though…the new tuners won’t fit in the holes if you don’t, and the ferrules are in there pretty tight.
@@EJBGuitar Thank you! Looked on Sweetwater but did not find the ones with the faded finish like yours. I will give them a go. BTW - do you experience static issues with yours?
Some online reviews claim it doesn't stay in tune well...how has your experience been ? And could you tell me the model # (?) of Ratio tuner you used ..thanks..great review.
Mine stays in tune fine. The Ratio tuners are just the locking 3x3 set - there aren’t too many models of the tuners…either 6 on a side or 3x3. Note that if you plan on switching from the stock PRS tuners, you will have to press out the tuner ferrules to fit different tuners. They’re installed pretty tight.
Some odd knobs I found on Reverb…not sure if they’re still available - I’ll post a link but might be n/a now. reverb.com/item/26330887-6-pcs-vintage-guitar-top-hat-amp-knob-effects-reflector-knobs-black-chrome-top?
Great guitar. I ordered one in January when they got announced and got it in July. Been my main guitar ever since.
nice review....I like that Ghost riffage in the beginning!
Thanks. Appreciate you watching.
Ghost to open it up with for the riff. Hell yeah. Great tone
Thanks!
Damn wish mine was light like yours. Mine is 8lbs... a little too much but still sounds great :)
Damn dude! 6:30 mark, Vito lives again! And you *nailed* that pinch!
Thank ya sir! One of the best ‘80s guys, that Vito.

Iris color has better tone.
😂 c’mon man!! Actually, I’d imagine all three would be equally awesome!

I wouldn’t say they’re P-90 like. The Silver Sky has more of a vintage Strat sound, the Fiore is more hi-fi sounding, at least to me.
@@EJBGuitar you mean hifi as in their a reproduction of single coils but don’t exactly sound like them?

@@EJBGuitar thank you my friend..was looking at a Silver sky , but really prefer HSS setup best...maybe one of these.
Superbe guita I tried and was about to buy...but the nut width is way too thin !

How noisy is the neck pickup?
Not very noisy IMO, but I play through Kemper’s and they are pretty quiet anyway. Do you have any way to test one?
That is good to hear. I don't, unfortunately. But I have ordered a PRS online without issue. @@EJBGuitar
Are the single coils noiseless?
Not totally, but they are pretty quiet…at least with my rig.
I wish it had Steel Frets.
Yeah agreed...stainless steel frets would be the perfect touch on this guitar!
