Make a crap ton of gas arrows and go kill the Broodmother boss. She gives you a mask that puts poison damage on any weapon or tool you use. And you'll get another tier 3 weapon that's stronger than the mint mace.

When you equip ant armor you can haul more planks, so instead of 5 planks/stems you can carry 8.

This game is AMAZING, I hope you get balls deep into it. Remember, once you get perfect guarding down your survivability rate goes up tenfold. I also recommend playing with durability off...It's really a nuisance. Also, set up those Lean-To's everywhere for multiple respawn points.
