Mucki Botkay: janelas imaginárias [imaginary windows]

A Galatea tem o prazer de anunciar a exposição ‘Mucki Botkay: janelas imaginárias’, com abertura no dia 17 de outubro, quinta-feira, das 18h às 21h, em Salvador.
A artista carioca Mucki Botkay apresenta pela primeira vez as suas pinturas com miçangas em uma grande exposição individual. Inspirada pela exuberância das paisagens naturais do litoral do Rio de Janeiro e da Bahia, Mucki cria peças que aguçam não só a visão, mas também o tato, pelo movimento e textura alcançados através dos bordados com as contas de vidro. Em uma espécie de zoom in, a artista vai ao detalhe da paisagem, depurando-a até de repente tornar o real abstrato. Essa decomposição da natureza em formas e cores é um convite à contemplação e à imaginação de um universo vivo e abundante. Por isso as obras de Mucki são como janelas imaginárias, título da sua individual apresentada pela Galatea.

Galatea is pleased to announce the exhibition ‘Mucki Botkay: Imaginary Windows’, opening on Thursday, October 17, from 6 pm to 9 pm, in Salvador.
For the first time, Rio de Janeiro-born artist Mucki Botkay presents her paintings with beads in a major solo exhibition. Inspired by the exuberance of the natural landscapes along the coast of Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, Mucki creates pieces that stimulate not only sight but also touch, through the movement and texture achieved by her glass bead embroidery. In a sort of zoom-in approach, the artist focuses on the details of the landscape, refining it until the real suddenly becomes abstract. This decomposition of nature into forms and colors invites contemplation and the imagination of a vibrant, abundant universe. That is why Mucki’s works are like ‘imaginary windows’, the title of her solo exhibition presented by Galatea.
