    TITLE: Rondo Days ‘09: “Celebrating the village, the land, the people, and the spirit”
    ANNOUNCERS: Stan Frelix and Bernard Foster, recording live from the deck of the Sterling Club- the second oldest Black Men’s social club in the USA, with Mr. Malcolm Samuels from KMOJ radio, reporting from along the Parade route, including a quick interview with Local and renowned Blues Musician Willie Walker, Mickie Strickland, daughter of Rondo and Michael Hicks, 5K runner who asks for more participation from afro-americans in the event- for health, competition and representation in the sport.
    PARTICIPANTS include: Grand Marshals: Ms Gloria Wright and Ms Katie McWatt, followed by City of St Paul Mayor, Chris Coleman; Betty McCollum for Congress re-election campaign; Toni Carter for County Commissioner; Major Taylor Bicycling Club; Local church group, Building self esteem in God’s way Parade Float of Princesses; Ramsey County Sheriff department riding new four wheelers; Fire Department; KMOJ Radio; The Knights of Peter Claver, Father Theobald Council 256, an African-American Catholic fraternity and sorority; Johnny Baby’s Neighborhood Bar on University Ave. with Jonathan Price, owner, waving from the hood of the car, celebrating their 5th anniversary; Star Model management; the Half Pintz, exhibiting their talents and skills; The AMP, African American Men Project; 2010 Census, Census Bureau “You Count!”; Urban Academy Charter School, est. 2002; Metropolitan State University; University of Minnesota’s Gophers Women’s Basketball Team boosters, featuring one of St. Paul’s best basketball players of all time, from all state Champion at Central High to U of M Hall of Famer, Ms. Linda Roberts. Waving from what looks to be a Zamboni; a Chia-Pet van representing Laura Jeffrey Academy; MLK Tennis Buffs/USTA Northern; YWCA St Paul; Float with Shannon L’leah singing and dancers in the street; Winter Carnival Royalty; The Arts-Us Boom Box Crew Hip hop dance crew; The Beat b-96 FM in a lowrider 65 convertible chevy; The Girl Scouts; Miss White Bear Ave., Ames Elementary; The Regalettes Social Club; Eva for Mayor of St Paul Campaign (Eva Ng, republican contender to incumbent Chris Coleman); The Tru Breed Motorcycle Club; Black Hawks Drill Team; Jimmy Lee Rec Center Cheerleaders; The Fezzan Temple group and their parade of classic cars, including: Magnificent Worshipful Prince hall Grand Lodge of Minnesota Grand Master and Fezzan court #7; The Fairway Foundation of St Paul, with almost 30 kids participating this year; Pilgrim Baptist Church; The Faith Float - Shades of Praise Church rockin it higher; Mount Olivet Baptist Church; Ober Community Center;
