Josh. Great Videos!! I've seen a heaping pile of these video here in busy Vancouver BC. I love these. My world is Audio. If you ever wanted me to lay in background Cues I'd be all about it purely on love. I grew up in Nova Scotia in Bush and Farm Culture and you take me back to my roots and stoke my inner flame. Thanks brother. Fact- You're an inspiration and what great friends and family! You are blessed. JC
Bro. Quickest half hr ever. That was mint. Good on ya smitty for suggesting the ice axe. Pray for your guys safety. Always a treat. Take it easy boys. Good vid.
you and Smiddy make a great team, very watchable. always better when yur successful, especially when you showed us such an extreme hunt. excellent bro. How could the DOC drop poison ANYWHERE in Gods own ?!?!
We dont have TV and restrict our young kids to what we think is good for their heads.Your vids always get a "Yay" when I put one on in our house. My 2 year old now is saying "bloody " a lot and has a "shit" on the loo but he also can talk about thar ,eels, possums and bows and arrows. Yay from me. Thanks.
Old ruth harrper recons you picked that book up from the hoki salvation army, for 20c,.......and smittey was saying down the pub the other day that youhad a tear on ya cheek as you read it... :-)
Hey Ben, I just lay them out skin side up in the frost then when they are frozen roll them up. If it rains and they are frozen I put them under cover. Will last for a week. If it doesn't freeze and your up there for more than 4 days or if its warm you will need to salt the skins. Chuck them straight in the freezer as soon as you get home
Hi Josh. My mate and I was in Arbor Rift for the first period just before you. I got a nice 12.5 inch bull and a 10 inch one and my mate got a nice 11.5 with a bow, hey did the new heli pad last with all the rain, james picked that spot he's a good pilot,i'm only new to this you tube thing but ill try and post some video's on Arbor Rift, anyway love watching your video's talk to soon.
great vids man tahr hunt is on my to do list. just wanted to know what boots you think are good. Iv had a few pairs as of late and don't seem to be able to make them last. Iv had to use the trusty old bullers the last few trips but need something better. any thoughts?
go stoney creek, swazi dont honour their warrantee, I had a pair of gators fail in the first 20 minutes of use, they then tried to tell me they didnt sell brown gators even though I purchased them from their website, after I sent several photo's they then told me they didnt warrantee the zippers because they were made in China. Cheeky bastards. Get the Tundra from Stoney Creek, hard wearing and if you get hot you cn unzip it as your climbing which you cant do with the smocks
yeah, Im getting there, all the gear is expensive. Priorities. I used to hunt them in gumboots and a PVC raincoat with an open sight 303... so we are doing OK
Hi Josh, awesome video, you must be having a very exiting life. A few questions, as a newbie to NZ it is hard for me to decide what caliber is ideal for hunting here? 243? 270? 308? which one is your favorite? is it Tikkas that you and Smithy use? Looking forward for more videos. Cheers.
Nigel Roberts from UK A great on foot hunting video Just what it should be. You should stop shooting from helicopters. Fly in but hunt on foot. Consider posting worldwide and act as guides. A lot of hunters would give their eye teeth for what you have got!!!! Enjoy while you can Cheers.
Was that smitty's 338 edge at 24.12, or your .270? and do the suppressors really help with recoil, are they beneficial in your humble opinion? cheers. F.Y.I Patreon + you = totaly more value than any other production company in the world!
When I see a video like this Josh I say to myself thank f@4k I live in New Zealand and we can hunt in places like this - absolute gods country for sure [just a pity you just cant grab your rifle and head out in Scotland where I'm from because of firearms laws and red tape]. Great video bro
cazthebaldfox Hi there, its a mix of pest control and hunting. We harvest the hides from the big bulls and also the backsteaks and hindquarters. We also harvest the meat from the young bulls and nannies as well as the hides. A lot of people just shoot them and leave them. The NZ Department Of Conservation cull thousands of Tahr each year using helicopters, foot hunters and aerial poison ( 1080 poison )
Man, every time I watch this channel you remind me of a intrepid moustached english cartoon character from my childhood; Nigel Thornburry (ruclips.net/video/JZ0Htvx5ynE/видео.html). I hope you take no offence. Lots of love for NZ from Canada. Love the channel. Hope to see you take a moose over this side of the Pacific sometime.
Watched this a dozen times - always do when I get home sick. Captures everything about the outdoors...the outdoors in the SI.
Just watched this again (‘bout 20th time) - has to be one of your best posts to date.

Late fan of the channel, really enjoying it buddy.
Josh, where you get the neck knife, I couldn't make out what you said.
Why don’t you carry a pair of lightweight crampons for ice and snow? It would solve the slipping on the recovery and descent once the hunt is over.
yeah, Im getting there, all the gear is expensive. Priorities. I used to hunt them in gumboots and a PVC raincoat with an open sight 303... so we are doing OK
