We had the same issue with the hats. Contact Stonemeier under their “Replacement Parts” section and they will send you replacement meeples right away! Apparently there was a misprint with some of the workers.

Such a helpful and interesting take on one of our favorite games! I like the cooperative elements quite a lot. Thanks for the "done well" and "do better!"

Difficult doesn't bother me, the feeling of impossible or "only if I'm extremely lucky" is such a crush to my motivation. No, I don't want it to be EASY, but if it's too difficult I'll look for a more satisfying experience. I don't want to have to be a genius or massive expert just to win a game on easy.

It’s definitely not impossible, certainly challenging! It’s a fun challenge for sure

So far, all the groups I've played with feel like it improves Viticulture another level as well. We didn't bring it on our road trip, and I can't wait to play again when we return in Aug. Great video!

A friend and I played the intro scenario "without help" and we won just barely in the final turn. It is definitely a tough game but so fun. If you guys were fighting over spots like that I would suggest talking out what u "want" to do on your turns before starting the year. I look forward to trying more continents in the future and will let you know how it goes. Great video as usual! Look forward to the new space when you move. I was born in Bathurst, new Brunswick but am a Newfie at heart living here my whole life. Much love to you both from "the rock" Newfoundland

Don't know if you saw Jamey Stegmaier's video this morning (7/6), but he talked about the issue of hats falling off the meeples. Apparently the company that make the meeples switched to a different cutting die for 2 out of the 22 Viticulture print runs. Turns out those meeples were slightly smaller than normal. Jamey said that anyone who has this problem can request a replacement set of correct sized meeples. Looks like he's taking care to "do better". 😁

Awesome!!! We will for sure reach out. Definitely figured it was some weird issue with printing

Every time I talk myself out of viticulture, something draws me back in! Great video (love seeing the new table in these videos). I’m a huge fan of SM, wine and coop games, but not worker placement games. The pros seem to outweigh the cons for this one though.

We have the same issue with the hats... ours fell off quite regularly too. We tried to pick up the meeple by the hat, and it came right off... but yes, love this version!! We played a 5 player game for our first time on the introductory level, and we ended up winning, but I thought for sure we were going to lose until that last card was flipped, and that gave us the win.

    • @FostertheMeeple
      @FostertheMeeple  2 года назад +1

Apparently you can get replacement meeples! There was a printing error in a couple of the print runs. I’d reach out to Stonemaier!

@@FostertheMeeple Yes, I did too! I asked Jamey about it in a recent online chat and he mentioned that, so I ordered a new set.

Thanks for the review. I’m a big fan of viticulture but, like you said, also not always into co-ops. This one might convince me though. Do you happen to have a video on your favorite expansions?

I feel the same way about it being difficult. Although I also feel that solo Viticulture is also difficult in terms of optimization, and it feels along those same lines. Great review!

I wish I liked Viticulture. It's so pretty and bucolic. This might make it better, but it's not something I feel like pursuing as the base game already falls flat for my wife and me. It's ok at higher player counts, but we have yet to find many mid-weight euros that we enjoy one on one. Agricola is about the only one so far. We either go much heavier or much lighter for the most part.

@@rosalind1635 we didn't find anything to draw us into Castles of Burgundy, though I do want to try again as I fee like I must be missing something. We tend towards either Food Chain Magnate/Gaia Project/Lisboa type weight or Dice Throne type weight.

You would think that an introductory scenario would be easier, guiding you into the game. I can only imagine what the hard difficulty level is. I have heard so many talk about how hard this game really is. I think I will pass on this one as I can see my game group getting frustrated and not caring to play it over again and again. Tuscany always goes over well. Thanks.

    • @FostertheMeeple

Fair enough!! I will say - while difficult, it was still very enjoyable! But for sure won’t be for every game group.
