We do run 4 cars at once, but when we do we must have at least 5 people working the ride and when only 5 people are working and something comes up the whole ride must stop operation, because no one can leave. When the que passes a certain point, the fourth is added if there are 5 operators working the ride. When there are only 4 working the maximum number of trains is 3 and with 3 operators working it goes down to 2 trains. This is all due to safety, because with 4 trains there are constantly trains moving around and we need enough eyes to keep the guest from going somewhere they shouldn't.
I remember when it just opened and was glossy smooth. It absolutely blew my mind. The airtime was somehow much better. I think it got a bit rough over time because this ride puts a lot of strain on the track and trains.
Awesome review! Mack is an amazing manufacturer, although their coasters have high price tags and their LSMs are quite frankly forceless. The xtreme spinner, the hyper, the multi launch, and of course the Big Dipper are all great models. I’m excited for Voltron Coaster, too.
Lost gravity is 100% a bucket list coaster for me. The whole vibe is just so cool. If this and Dynamite are Macks answer to the Eurofighter than Voltron coaster (or whatever it is called) at Europa Park is their answer to the Infinity Coaster. Also the First Drop looks very similarly profiled to the one proposed for Project Exodus at Thorpe Park. Whilst that probably will have two across seating I hope it is a wild as Lost Gravity's drop seems to be
I went here last month and I have literally no problem with smoothness May just be me that I don’t care about it but I just enjoy the forces and crazy element
I love lost Gravity, I have been on it plenty of times and people seem to always be complaining about a rattle but to me, even in the wing seats, I genuinely never feel the rattle. It's pretty high up in my list.
I must say, I didn't notice the rattle on lost gravity when I was there. I do also think it is slightly overshadowed by untamed for airtime. The merchandise is great too
I once got stopped on the midcourse brakes and the second half felt like I was going to valley on every hill, hangtime was unlike anything I've experienced
It's been two years since I rode this, but I don't remember this ride being rough. I rode it in the back left wing seat, the first drop and inversions were great. It had just opened, so I probably didn't experience its full airtime potential. Lost Gravity is my no. 5 overall as of now.
I think that roughness can be attributed to the weight distribution of the trains. Because of of the trains’ weight is relegated to one compact space, more stress is put on the track, causing the rattle.
I've never studied this coaster before. That sounds like my kind of ride. I love the sound of that layout & the theming, as I enjoy quirky layouts & variety. I was afraid you were going to say that it had a rattle before you even said it. Some Mack coasters do. Manta at SWSD has quite a rattle, but that's slow enough to not bother me. Copperhead Strike is barely in my top 50, but it would be a lot higher if it didn't rattle. Time Traveler was still smooth last weekend.
great description of the coaster! IMO its a really fun ride. It is also just as fun to look at. The first time I went here I got addicted to it. The best seat is the back on the far left side, where the first half is absolutely insane! It can get a bit shaky, and I also think the 2nd part is kind of forceless and therefore it doesn't have the best pacing. But its one of my favorites there.
I can't wait to ride this next year when I am going to Walibi Holland in combination with the Defqon1 Festival next door. It looks like such a fun Mack Produkt.
as someone who rode it in 2023 the smoothness isn't as bad as it was the last time (around 2021). now its still not smooth but its like a little bit more than the rattle you would like on a woodie
Definitely would love to get on one of these Mach Big Dippers, especially if they've figured a way to smooth it out. To me it lends itself to much more than a Eurofighter and Skyrush. With a holding brake and a vertical drop this could be a small parks answer to a B&M dive coaster and as you mentioned coming off the mcbr it does the dive loop better than a B&M wing coaster's wing over drop. With lap bar only restraints and the right layout the airtime could probably match that of Intamin Ultra (formerly Mega-Lite) coaster. So many possibilities, I'd love to see more of these - Someone bring one of these to the States please! Great review.
Canobie Coaster would say: For a ride with that little track length, it packs in a lot of elements. The ride feels far longer than that. While it's clear I love this coaster's elements, there is an issue with the ride, the smoothness or lack thereof. I heard this coaster... A) was smooth in its opening year B) was rough in its opening year but it is now a very shaky experience. The train will rattle on most valleys. There are some elements that don't seem to track quite right. The one that comes to mind is... A) The small speed hill after the first drop B) The large camelback after the top hat C) The zero G roll that feels jittery. Honestly, this ride's tracking reminds me of the Zamperla thunderbolt coaster I've ridden in many places.
Lost Gravity has a similar shuffle. Not enough to completely ruin the ride, but it is enough to cause a headache after a few rides. And it doesn't seem to make much of a difference whether you're on the inside or outside. That matters on some rides with wing seats, but not this one. Remember this was a prototype. I say that because their second Big Dipper coaster in Dynamite at Freizeitpark Plohn... A) is very rough B) is very smooth
Imagine, Canobie Coaster would say on Lost Gravity: You then twist 180 degrees into the brake run ending the 2230 foot or 680 meter long coaster. For a ride with that little track length, it packs in a lot of elements. The ride feels far longer than that. While it's clear I love this coaster's elements... A) There is an issue with the ride, the smoothness or lack thereof. B) There is an issue with the ride, the pacing. C) There is an issue with the ride, the power. D) No issues are found on any part of the ride.
Canobie Coaster would say: Lost Gravity is a very shaky experience. You feel shaking on most valleys and elements. The shakiness not only completely ruined the ride but it was enough to come off with a headache if you ride it more than once. Remember, this was a prototype. I say that because the second Big Dipper coaster in Dynamite at Freizeitpark Plohn... A) is shaky but less persistent B) is very smooth C) has some shimmying but mostly smooth
Speaking of "lost gravity", I bet this thing definitely feels like it pulls some low Gs. 0 and maybe even negative Gs. It's a very weird ride, a wing over drop type drop on an, I guess almost wing coaster but more a normal floorless skyrush style seating. Overall it's really cool cause how unique it is abd the weird floaty sensations you probably get.
This was way worse when the ride opened and it got to the point where it would cause problems, so Mack had to come back and added a device that would make it sway less and make it stop quicker. The price of this some modification was pretty expensive though. I can't think of an example, but I have seen mack use the same system somewhere else on a top hat.
Mack paid for the modification though, because it was a prototyoe. Untamed also had a problem which needs a modification, but RMC refuses to pay for it because they don't see it as a problem.

Thanks for explaining! That makes sense depending on the day and staffing levels.
It's crazy how the airtime hill after the first drop literally wobbles as the car goes over it.
I expect this!
I was surprised how much it wobbled.
I remember when it just opened and was glossy smooth. It absolutely blew my mind. The airtime was somehow much better. I think it got a bit rough over time because this ride puts a lot of strain on the track and trains.
Thankfully their second Big Dipper is still riding smooth.
Awesome review! Mack is an amazing manufacturer, although their coasters have high price tags and their LSMs are quite frankly forceless. The xtreme spinner, the hyper, the multi launch, and of course the Big Dipper are all great models. I’m excited for Voltron Coaster, too.
But they are reliable and fun.

I hope Exodus's drop is a big version of this.
I went here last month and I have literally no problem with smoothness
May just be me that I don’t care about it but I just enjoy the forces and crazy element
I definitely enjoyed the ride, but it took a toll after rerides.
I had a blast riding this ride over and over. There was no one there so I marathoned it. Such fun airtime
Nice!
brilliant review!!!! Cant wait to see more videos around this park! keep it up!
Thanks!
I love lost Gravity, I have been on it plenty of times and people seem to always be complaining about a rattle but to me, even in the wing seats, I genuinely never feel the rattle. It's pretty high up in my list.
It won't stop me from riding a few times, but it does hit me after a few rides.
The roughness really doesn’t bother me, simply because the MACK restraints are a gift from heaven.
Those restraints are amazing.
Its smooth again! Has been for a while but yes it is smooth
I got good rides this year.
I must say, I didn't notice the rattle on lost gravity when I was there. I do also think it is slightly overshadowed by untamed for airtime. The merchandise is great too
I agree Untamed is easily the park's airtime king.
I once got stopped on the midcourse brakes and the second half felt like I was going to valley on every hill, hangtime was unlike anything I've experienced
Oh wow!
AWESOME Review 😎
Glad you liked it

Possibly!

The rattle on this one is worse than the US ones you mentioned.
Imagine if BPPB got a Mack Big Dipper that interacted with the Big Dipper for its 100 year anniversary 😂
That would be cool!

I wish they could completely fix the issue.
The turn before the mid course is actually outer-banked!
Interesting. Doesn't really feel it.

The second one ran much smoother thankfully.

It was smooth originally from what I heard.
I wish we had more non launched Mack’s in the us. Six flags should really take a look at this model
Me too.

Wiener Prater is getting a Big Dipper as well. It’s gonna pay homage to Wiener Looping, and the layout looks great.
I'm looking forward to that one.

This layout looks like one of those that I just find perfect for some reason, with others being ArieForce One and Kondaa
I just wish this tracked better.
wow
A good one.

It definitely has some nice forces.
Great video, but I have never found lost gravity rough or jittery, I might just have a good tolerance tho
It stacks up after a few rides.
The layout looks fantastic, but we need to talk about the way the track sways at 8:08....

Viper at Six Flags Great America- fine
El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure- the bottom of the turnaround is very shaky
Coaster Express at Parque Warner Madrid- atrocious
Hades 360 at Mt. Olympus- very rough
The coaster ran all 4 cars over the last couple of days I was there except for the last hour or so of the day when they ran 3.
Nice!
What do you think about the roughness of Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland and Ednör L' Attaque at La Ronde?
Ednor has awful headbanging and Lost Gravity rattles a lot.
What are the differences between a "shaky" ride and a "rough" ride?
Can be the same.
What means "wobbled"?
Shaked
that one for Europa Park was postponed for 2024
I saw there was a delay getting parts.
What means "take a toll on me"?
Wear you down.
So what would you rate Lost Gravity?
See the review.
Is it just me or does this ride king of look like an off brand version of the Smiler?
Sort of.
I know a weird Intamin launched coaster that you would say:
"This ride is quite shaky"
Assuming you mean Furius Baco.
What if cedar point got one....that had 15 inversions on it...
They would need longer trains, but the ride would be cool.
so weird you think this coaster is janky. Must have been an issue because it's smooth AF. I do prefer the inside seats though.
I've gotten rough rides in both 2019 and 2022.
Lost Gravity at Walibi Holland was not in your video of top 25 worst roller coasters in the world (2020), despite being shaky, why?
The layout is excellent and has good forces.
Such a bizarre layout
Indeed
