Great job with the video! Honestly, the connection between the franchise’s legacy and Majora’s Mask Link’s lack of one is a really cool topic and one that I never thought of!

Great video. I think that's why Tatl's thank you at the end of the game is so powerful. It isn't just from her but from all the people who can't remember how selfless Link was in sacrificing himself for their happiness. She's the only one who knows just how much you did and how no one will ever thank you for it.
AH my heart!! Yes exactly, I wish I had thought of this and found a way to implement it, that defeated “thank you” from Tatl always broke my heart and this has described perfectly why 😭 thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
This Link has suffered the most, he also doesn't have the recognition from OoT (except from Zelda) since she sent him back in time, and thus the events of that game never occurred in this timeline. Makes sense why he showed up later as the Hero's Shade to pass on his legacy to a new Link.
Also slight correction, MM and TotK aren't the only direct sequels, Zelda 2 is a direct sequel to the first game, the Oracle games and Link's Awakening feature the same Link from A Link to the Past, and Phantom Hourglass to Wind Waker. Great video though!

Also ah I knew I might have been jumping the gun a bit there 😅. I did forget about Zelda 2 and WW/PH, but I haven’t actually played the other 3 yet so that’ll be why that never occurred to me - my bad, thanks for the correction!

It was nice listening to your insught on the game and its impact as a whole. I've only experienced fully the two N64 games through their respective remakes on the 3DS, so I don't know much first hand if the Zelda formula that was engraved post Ocarina of Time in most post Majora's Mask games, but I agree with what you have said concerning Majora's Mask's impact in general, and the strength of the story it chose to tell.
I'm interested in playing Link's Awakening in the near future from it's strong story narrative as well, I've heard from others that it to had a profound message; though I think from the Zelda fan base all the games do and that's what makes each special.
