I sold my JDXA and hydra synth as I was considering a quantum. Now I see the iridium (great video by the way. You sold me on it) Now I see this video. I want my hydra synth back!!! It sounded great with my prologue. I really think you do the best videos. It all seems rehearsed but it isn’t. You really know your shit And you are very good as a narrator. These companies should pay you for your videos.
I recall messing about drawing waves by hand and realising that saw plus inverted saw makes a rectangle wave, mostly, then with a tiny pitch shift on one saw, you get PWM. I thought "How cool is that?" and now Hydrasynth does it! I really like the red noise too.
Thanks a lot for the inspiration. I love ASM‘s update frequency. While others don‘t even manage to fix obvious bugs within two years, there are frequently real improvements on the Hydrasynth.
Thanks a lot Ken for this update review - still kicking around idea of getting one of these, maybe desktop as I have Poly AT feature in my GEM S3 Turbo master, though might not be a nice as the new 49-key ASM bespoke version, worth a visit to PMT Oxford if they have one in there ... after Lockdown! Be safe! 🖐😷🎹👍🍻
I would say it's worth a visit then try the poly aftertouch esp on the Blades patch and patch B019 Grasslands strings patch and see how sensitive and non-binary the aftertouch is.
@@Fluxwithit I Just found your channel and subscribed. Hydrasynth is my second synth so there is a learning curve for me. I added your Hydrasynth vids to my album so I can learn. Thank you!
I think you should stop doing demos for this synth, even if you somehow was involved in it's development. Because all you demos sounds pretty bad. There are loads of people making better sounds from this and would probably be better at finding what sounds good in a new update.
Stop writing comments, there are loads of better comments than your only negative and purely subjective opinion. The more videos on this the better, especially someone who understands it to such a level, please keep it up.

same way i feel about the Synthstrom Deluge. Its the "aftercare" that has me thinking about picking up a Hydra synth.
Flux excellent work in sound design on the Hydrasynth!
Cool demo, this synth sounds so good, even when you just had one oscilator and no filter!

I have the Hydrasynth and I didn't know that update put the PhazDilff in there so thank you for the walk through. Please do more on the Hydrasynth.
Dave R have you checked out all my other hydrasynth videos?

Thanks for the awesome description and examples!
excellent, thank you!
11:35 I like those analog-like simpler sounds - and no filter mod at that point? Though it sounds like it!
Great work Flux thanks man!
does this synth have wavefolding?
Kind of, I think. Not called wavefolding but it's mentioned in some demos and reviews.
You can use asm pwm for wavefolding
flux it up !! this was cool
do i need to update to 1.3 first?
i haven't updated it since 1.1 will this be of any issue?
Hey, we‘re at 1.4 meanwhile! I highly recommend to update - you won‘t regret it. There are so many improvements.
Hydra needed more bass - it's important
? I never understand people who say this...
