As the lazy guy, I make my own coffee ice cream, since that is my favourite flavour, and the good versions out there on the market are somewhat too expensive for me. So I first purchase a cheap Butterscotch ice cream. Then I take some instant coffee powder and mix that with a small amount of hot water and stir. Then I add that to the Butterscotch ice cream and mix it evenly. Yummy. After doing for quit some time, I years later looked at the contents of some of the expensive versions, and laughed when I noticed that "Instant coffee" was on the list of ingredients.

Allow chocolate to start melting, then stir gently, until it's all mixed up. May add 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, or any other flavor you like. Turn off heat. Remove top of double boiler and place it on a towel. Add a wee pat of butter(1/2 Tablespoon). Allow to melt and stir in. At this point it is done....pour into a buttered foil lined 8X8 inch pan. Spread mixture evenly and smooth surface. Allow to sit in a nice cool place for 2 hours(if you can wait that long)Then lift out of pan. Put on cutting board and cut into nice size serving pieces with a sharp knife. Store in an airtight container. Other add in's: 1/2 to 1 cup chopped toasted nut meats 1 cup raisins, or dried black 🍒 cherries....miniature marshmallows, or anything else your heart desires. 🙂

I'm curious what the difference in volume would be if the cream wasn't whipped. Would you consider making a half batch with whipped cream and a half batch with cream to compare the volume of both for a follow-up video at some point?
@@mikey_mike Not if the final "mixing" was proper folding. Like in this case. Initially about a 4th of teh whipping cream was sacrificed to loosen up the chocolate mixture. Then the rest of the whipped cream was folded in, preserving most of the tiny air bubbles. Just like making classic Ganache.

Yea, you can get similar results with just using instant pudding mix, it's an ok frozen desert, but it's not icecream, it doesn't have the texture that comes from churning.

If you don't have a churner, you can take it out like every hour and stir it heavily, then pit it back in. It'll turn out more like ice cream than frozen moose if you do that. 👍

I imagine if the whipped cream wasn't whipped the ice cream world be dense and hard to scoop.
This is correct, I think. The air being whipped into the cream is what makes the final product scoopable.
