The quality control part for the eyes and noses made me chuckle - I've seen some pretty derpy looking Peeps. My favorite was a package containing two Peeps that had kind of worried looking eyes, almost like they knew what was waiting for them. I saved those for last.

I did not have a single peep with properly positioned eyes in my entire package. Not a single one. They clearly have stopped all their quality control on that part.

I used to run a gelato shop. Our most famous flavor was our Easter special "Peep Massacre" which was vanilla gelato with chopped peeps and raspberry ribbons. :)

My family likes to hide peeps all around our houses so we find them throughout the whole year and since they don't go bad you can tell how long they've been there for based on how hard they are 😂

@@Dirty_Bear22 fat is an essential part of our diets, as are carbs and sugars. The key is moderation of all 3 and other necessary parts. The reason obesity is an issue is because sugar (and somewhat fat) are way overconsumed which leads to the weight gain

I absolutely adore peeps. I don't like marshmallow but I love the bunnies. I collect anything peep bunnies I find. I am a side sleeper and my elbows bother me if I don't prop them on something so I sleep with a giant pink peep in my arms every night. I have taken that peep on many many vacations and trips. I never sleep without it. My grandchildren now have become fans and we get so excited when we come across peep merchandise. It's so sweet when they come over for a visit and are excited to give me one to add to the collection. Peeps are just a family tradition and I will always love them! ❤️

i’m not a huge fan of Peeps but my grandma used to make a two tier cake for easter every year that was always covered in the bunny peeps. Just thought I’d share. This comment was so heartwarming. Hope you and your loved ones have a great Peeps-eating season!!!

I find Peeps to be a particularly intriguing slice of Americana as, so far as I'm aware, they're essentially unknown outside of the US. Such a big traditionally Easter thing, apparently, but they've never really made it into worldwide popular culture in the way, say, twinkies have.
Yeah I'm not American, and I've heard of them but I've never seen them before. Do you guys have chocolate eggs at Easter? I saw in the comments that people said they hunt for them but where I live we do an Easter Egg Hunt (little chocolate eggs) or get a rabbit shaped chocolate. No marshmallow at all.
@@alaskapuss yes we also have them, We have all that I just guess we have peeps too. I did not know until just now the rest of the world did not have peeps. They taste great but you are not missing much its just marshmallow wish sugar on them.
Twinkies only got famous after the Zombieland movie before in my circle nobody had ever heard about the treat.
So I think if they would be featured in any blockbuster people not from America would start to recognize them.
@@miprichan No, twinkies have been a well known movie institution for decades. Ghostbusters and Die Hard spring to mind. But, yes, in terms of making peeps more well known, having them in films would be crucial. A bit late now, though. The American film food clichés are established.

YESSS my dad goes to the store after easter when they're on sale an buys at least 1 crate ( 4:34 ) of peeps, and distributes them among my family. I like to leave them in a storage bin under my bed for a couple years before eating, I have no idea how many boxes I have anymore because I can only eat like 2 at a time lol

This is the first time of me hearing about peeps or seeing them anywhere in the store
When I was very young I had a peeps cruise book (I still have it), and one day when I was in a Dollar store I saw them on the candy shelf and couldn't have been more thrilled to find out they were a real product, I still get peeps every now and then.
My family tradition of using peeps is on the day of Easter and all of our family and friends come to the biggest house for the hunt and lunch, the adults will make little snacks of them on plates or stick 5 peeps on a stick and call it "Peeps Kabab" like with sushi!!😁🐰

Last year our Michael's had sooooo many Peeps and Easter eggs/ baskets left over from the pandemic hitting at such a bad time, they were bagging them up and selling entire garbage bags full for $5. When I went back with my daughter, they told her to take 2 extra bags (3 for $5), because they would "just have to throw it in the garbage if they couldn't sell them." For $10 I got 15 baskets, 20 boxes of bunnies (3 rows, not the skimpy 2 from this year), 5 boxes of chicks, somewhere between 200 - 300 plastic eggs, and about a dozen bags of fake grass and about a dozen squishy and/or light up bunnies and chicks, (plus a bunch of other weird rando stuff they had on clearance like a Himalayan salt lamp)
That might have been why they had very few peeps for sale this year....
They're the one marshmallow treat that doesn't get old

Let me just say that the U.S.A has a fucked up marketed stupid expensive health care industry and sugar is cheap. Sugar in some ways is addicting and then adding that it's cheap, they get more money out of you.
