If you like this band, you should listen an old band named Ark, with singer jorn Lande who sing really similiar with this singer. And had a really good musicians too. Thanks from France for all your videos, always a pleasure to listen !

Really enjoy this track Jim. Got everything I love. Heavy, technical riffing. Loads of melodies and harmonies. Great vocals. Tonnes of synths/keyboards. Will definitely be checking out their album!🤘🤘🤘🤘

When Dio's wife Wendy went to see the premiere of the documentary about her husband Ronnie James Dio she invited Dino to sit on the front row of the theater.

comment part 2 : I'm sorry Jim , but this song confirmed my impression of the first song. There's not much of this song, that I will remember, maybe except for the singer's strong voice... and by the way Derek Sherinian was in Dream Theater between Kevin Moore and Jordan Ruddess

Not the lyrical style I usually associate with this style of music, but it works. Dude's certainly got a pair of lungs, reminds of Creed and Godsmack.
Good stuff, makes me want to hear more which I guess is the idea of a decent single. So job done :)

A bit heavy for my taste but I do now own the 3 studio Flying Colors albums, so thanks for that Jim.

I'll write before I listen : I've heard one song of this new prog band and I had the same impression as I had, when I first heard Sons of Apollo, which had 2 musicians of this band. Their prog sounds to me "constructed", not composed, which means they have certain parts and put it together as a song.
Maybe this one is different ... 😆

    Good evening Jim,
    New band, I’m curious.
A new band can’t afford to block videos if they want to be known by the public.
I’m in doubt about the voice. I don’t really like it. He uses a lot of distortion and that creates a tone quality I don’t like that much. The parts where he uses a lot less distortion sound much better. I haven’t got that problem with Ian Gillan or Devin Townsend.
Musically it’s quite good but i need to heat other songs for a verdict.

Not my usual stuff but good for what it was. I've been banging on about synths not being required in metal but, of course, this proves me wrong - they have their place when handled carefully and this style (along with Dream Theater type prog-metal) is where they shine. I was thinking more of the string synth sound that power metal overuses. Highlight is the vocalist though - I was hearing Danny Bowes from Thunder but, like I say, this is normally not my style, so better comparisons may be available.

Jim, have you heard of a band called Turbulence? They just released their new album called Binary Dream. The previous one - Frontal was great too. For fans of Haken and Dream Theater. And they are from Lebanon btw.

Vocals sounds like Russel Allen of Symphony X. Both Bumblefoot and Derek Sherinian was on Sons of Apollo, and I am genuinly surprised you don't know Derek Sherinian played keyboards in Dream Theater before Jordan Rudess joined. I actually see a parallell here. When he got the boot in Dream Theater he recorded his first solo album almost as a fuck you to the band to show them what they missed out on. Now that Mike Portnoy retired Sons of Apollo this seems almost like the same fuck you to Mike, saying we don't need you.

Hi Jim, I've been following you for years. I love how you also react to a lot of lesser known bands like Airbag for instance.
Anyway, I recently discovered a band which I really think you'll love. Please check out the album: Falling Bough Wisdom Teeth - Kiev
Its the one album I feel is on par with Radiohead, yet original. It's so good and I think will make for good content if you react to it. Cheers, now I'll get back to your reaction of Karnivool ,|,,|

Hopefully the album has better tunes, althoug it sounds good, lack of catchy melodies hurt my first listening experience.
