That’s the reality of thousands of poor Hong Kong residents who live in cramped “coffin homes.” At a time when most people are staying home to stay safe, some of Hong Kong’s poorest face a painful dilemma: Is it safer to sleep at home or on the street?

I'll go have lunch with him. Meeting new people is always good. And, it's good for loneliness.
The dude seemed awfully content and chirpy despite his conditions, doubt I'd be the same if I had to sleep in a coffin next to 18 other people for over 250 dollars a month! Hope things have improved for him now!

The chaos unfolding in HK is an inner manifestation of societal decay (squalor living conditions and stagnating/declining standards of living for the general masses). This is the aftermath of nearly a century of imperialist rule that by design steadily transferred wealth and power to the hands of the few oligarch elite. Protestors who think HK's problems will go away if they become totally autonomous and independent from mainland China are naïve. They fail to understand the true historical precedents for their situation.
