What a wonderful Christmas gift! You have provided much to think about and apply in my own piano journey. I very much look forward to future sessions on this important subject. Thank you for all that you do. It is much appreciated. Happy New Year to you!
Thanks so much for your valuable feedback! Happy New Year to you as well! I am glad my videos are aiding you in your piano studies. I will post another one very soon🙂👩🏫🎹
Thank you so much for what you do., I'm almost 50 y old and have just recently really gotten into piano and keyboard, after 40 years of playing guitar, (in reality compared to kids nowadays I sound like I've been playing less than 4). Your lessons like this are such a help in saving my wrists. I have a hard time with heavy rigid form, this is life changing information to me! Thank you again, happy holidays to you and yours 🤘🐸
A very helpful video tackling one of the most beautiful qualities of the piano, chords. There’s so much to be said and you covered the basics very clearly. And that 745, the rattling, clicking keys was the immediate reason I traded mine up for a hybrid N1X. I’ve had my N1X for close to a year now and so far I love it more each day, would you believe. It’s done wonders for my technique and by the way voicing chords on the N1X is easily balanced. I recall you commenting that you weren’t impressed by the N1X but I think if you spent quality time with it you may like it. Good luck with those noises on the 745. I also play a 635 and move it weekly on wheels for the past 3 years, no rattles in that one so far. Keep doing your videos please.
Thank you, Jacqueline for your thoughtful comment, as always! Yes, I definitely am not too familiar with hybrids to judge them fairly. I wish I had a 635 instead, to be honest. I think 745 is overpriced for what it is worth....but maybe sometime in the future I Will get an acoustic or a hybrid....maybe I will warm up to those:)
Thanks for a good and quick lesson, my teacher called this type of staccato"щипать" still remember this , anyway happy hollydays and again thanks btw when you playing chords like the moderate tempo the frist or forearm not be like in the beginning i mean most relaxed right?
Thanks for your comment! Yes, it is close to string pizzicato I would say. If I understand your question correctly, yes, we need to engage both forearm and wrist for playing consecutive chords in a moderate or fast tempo. but micro relaxation should still happen in between. Cheers!
Something may have changed with your microphone during the video. Harder to hear your voice several minutes into the video. Might be worth recording again. Would hate to miss out on your knowledge.
Yes, you are right. I mentioned it in the comments. Unfortunately, my microphone lost battery at that point. It was towards the end of the recording session. I don't think I will be rerecording this one.:( but if you can bump up the volume a bit, that should help in that middle part. Sorry for the technical problem!
Thank you for answering. I didn’t think to check comments, sorry about that. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with those of us watching and learning from you. On another subject, do you believe that a motivated student can obtain a degree of competency in an advanced piece seemingly well above their self perceived skill level ?
@GnRKauai no problem at all. There is usually some degree of equipment failure involved with my productions. Haha. I certainly believe that one can progress well above one's expectations with ample motivation/ dedication and with correct guidance through the process. I am a believer that we do not know our real potential until we try something. There are of course technical limitations that can make that progress to a certain level a lengthy process, but it is certainly possible with a correct approach!👍
Gentile Daria, saluti dal Teatro alla Scala di Milano. 😊
