    love the comment on the longevity, I can only agree. My current RX450h is 8 years old with 278000km and the only 2 repair bills I've ever had were for the replacement of a light bulb. This week I am getting my RX450h+, really looking forward to it.

    That first infotainment system annoyance only happens under guest profiles. Once you set up your Lexus profile once, which I believe is synced to the Cloud, it will save your consent.

    Thank you for the video. We live in California and are anxiously awaiting for this car to come to the states. Can you make another video that talks more about the charging and the electrical connections and how long it takes to charge up the battery? Thanks again

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Год назад +1

      Hi, not really as I only get the cars for a week. You don’t get fast charging capability on PHEVs. About 2.5 hours will do it with a 7kw wall box like most have at home over here.

    Thanks for clarifying the boot size, this has had me puzzled as all other reviews said it's the same size as the NX450h phev but clearly it isn't the case. I also went to the dealers to check and it appears bigger.

    In regards to your comments about always having to accept the disclaimers each time you enter the car..my understanding is that once you have programmed in your profile information it will automatically recognize your selections the next time?

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Год назад +1

      I’m sure that’s probably the case. Not something we do in these press cars unfortunately but it would make sense 👍👍👍

    • @ONI1013.
      @ONI1013. 3 месяца назад +1

      That is correct. We just got the car. And after you program your profile, and link it to either your key fob, digital key (phone app), or even Face ID, you can set in many customizable settings like seats, mirrors, radio, navigations, menu screen, etc. You do not have to accept all the disclaimers once set up.
      You may also hear people complaining about the Driver Monitor feature, where it tracks your eyes, positioning of your face and hands, BUT you can turn off those all those alerts or some specific alerts.

    The Driver Assistance CAN be turned off indefinitely, not every time you get in the car. You just have to go through the settings and you can disable the some or all of the Drivers Assistance features. You can also deactivate all those Drivers Monitor alerts as well.

    The car is perfect other then one aspect. It's uber expensive at that pricepoint and you have no blindside monitor. Sure your mirrors light up but there is audio feed back. So you have to be disciplined and look at the mirror every time to see the light but at this stage in the game Audio Feedback should be mandatory especially at this price point.

    I thought the 450H+ was a 2.4 turbo not naturally aspirated? The Mercedes rival is about £20k more than this and its not as good!
    I have an RX 300 SE 19 years old silver metallic paint with the full light Grey leather interior lovely combination but everyone telling me to buy myself a new car but their aint nothing wrong with the car I have, still drives like brand new car whisper quiet super comfortable but it was harder to get insured this year as insurance companies don't like old cars so maybe I will have to comply! resistance is futile I will be assimilated lol so this could be my next car, see me out I think could be my last car that I need to buy woohoo!

    Is the speed warning issue that you have to constantly turn off just an EU thing? I've only seen EU reviewers mention the annoyance.

    I have a 2022 450h and i have a few niggles with it. My pet hate is that it allows over speed down hill when cruise control is engaged. My Kia Sorento didnt do that and it was nice to rely on the car to keep within low speed limits. I wonder if they have fixed that on the new model. Also how much better is the infotainment system.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  11 месяцев назад

      I can’t say about the cruise control; as for the infotainment it’s night and day. The old system was awful, the new system is fantastic.

    The 256 mpg is completely false, i have one and it looks like 7,5 liters by 100 km or 38 miles per gallon. If you add all the electric uses and you never use the gas you will have this 256mpg, absolutly false information

    Great review :) I would have liked to have had the real MPG from the 3 different driving modes. IE What's the MPG just using the engine alone?
    What is the MPG when self-charging the battery with the engine? Combined MPG you said 58mpg? What is the road tax on that car? Many thanks Richard

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Год назад +1

      It's a fruitless task really Richard. The car will constantly switch between modes and, as I said in the video, everyone's driving needs and patterns are so different that in a car like this I may say 60 and the next review you see may say 40. Unless you're conducting tests based on very specific journey types and modes then it's utterly pointless as the numbers will vary wildly. Driving at full charge vs zero charge is not something you can do in 10 minutes for example.
      Added to all that...the reality is that I have these cars for a week, I have no team around me, I need to drive the car enough to form a good opinion and try to use it in everyday tasks as much as possible and give an overall view of my experience with it.
      I then have to film everything and edit everything, design the thumbnail, upload it and promote it. Putting an extra 2 days and £££ into providing several different MPG figures (that would be entirely different for you no doubt) seems like a bad investment.
      I do everything possible to give a great, very honest overall opinion of the car that I hope is far more true to life than a lot of other outlets but I am just a one man band trying to scrape a living.

      I can tell you our experience in just our first 2 weeks of driving: Full Hybrid only (without any EV charge) with casual highway driving: 38-44 MPG. EV Mode = 36 mile range at (3.0 mile/kwh). Auto Mode (Auto switching between Hy/Ev Mode), about 81 MPGe.
      The latter is more of an estimate given the lack of time I’ve own the car and no direct gauge unlike the other two. But I can share my real life experience: On a full charge on Auto Mode and full tank of gas, we drove 80 miles round trip on freeway at avg 73mph speed + another 45 mile on city streets. The battery depleted to 34% and the gas gauge didn’t even move. We then charged the battery over night (2 hours at L2 charging), and then drove another 60 miles round trip. Battery depleted back down 38% , and gas gauge still have not moved one notch. That is very impressive for such a large heavy car.
