  • Considering that textile waste will necessarily be a resource of the future regarding the quantities produced, “Second skin” explores the idea that re-evaluated textile could be applied as the skin of common products to reduce both textile and plastic waste.
In experimenting the application of those materials and their specificity, Second skin questions the identity of our objects and how textile skin could enhance the relationship we have with them, by creating warmer objects, while improving their repairability and practicality.
It acts as a manifesto, typified by the archetype object represented by the vacuum cleaner, to showcase the benefits of such conception methods. It opens up the possibilities of ligther objects covered in textile on minimal structures, low tech construction and alternative textile revaluation principles.
