I tried to cut as much as possible, but I think I can do better. I'll do the 4 minutes version of this so it can match the Ultimate battle song just once. Don't know how, cause there's not really anything to cut anymore. :D

2 literal Aliens fighting to be the strongest Earthling. Quite ironic...
Yeah, earthlings in the DB world are very phisically weak but excel at science, just look at the time machine and the androids. They have brains and the saiyans have brawn
@@theazureknight9399 Also up until the Namek saga, Earthlings were unique in that they were able to sense ki without the need for scouters and had such control over their battle power that they could raise and lower it in battle.
At this time, both were Earthlings, just non humans.
They are earthlings, not humans, but earthlings.
@@theazureknight9399 Plus they had excellent ki control and had techniques that raised their power levels a lot
Before Kaio ken before super Saiyan before ultra instinct we had this masterpiece
this is the best fight in DB, because it didnt require none of the things mentioned above to be badass.
Dragon Ball was great because it was about martial arts expertise, training and battle tactics. DBZ fucked it up by introducing power levels, making the earthlings useless as even Nappa could fuck them up, even though he was a dumbass and guys like Krillin and Piccolo had great tactics, it didn't matter cuz power levels.
With power levels, comes power creep.
Goku, at this point has ultra instinct, said by kamesenin in the super Manga.
@@soulja4761 *great
All things considered this is probably the best fight in the series. 1) Neither fighter gets a powerup partway through; they win with what the strength they start with. 2) It's incredibly even; most DB fights are one-sided. 3) Both fighters react to what the other is doing and come up with counter strategies. 4) It is incredibly brutal. Goku and Piccolo at their best.
Ashanark very well said and put together
The even thing is so true it’s probably the most equal fight in the series
And the fistthrowing is faster animated than some super fights nowadays.
Yes, what a wonderful final clash in the prelude to Dragon Ball Z. Kami giving him that training over three years ultimately paid off, still it took all he got to get the win. And he did use that move where he threw a punch and created a shockwave like effect before this fight. That was done before by Demon King Piccolo. Piccolo noticed that resemblance when he did that to win over Chi Chi by ringout.
This was the real peak of the original storyline. 🎉
I've been rewatching the older dragon ball sagas and once again It makes me really see the problems with super because it's just if you have a transformation in the fight you win and in the tournament of power you expect people to fight this dirty or wound one another to the degree where they can just be thrown off but instead most people get hurt is scratches here and there. Plus one there was a character far stronger than expected it went down to strategy to win and using everything they got
I like that this fight wasn't one-sided.
Leon
Unlike super which it seem that after Goku vs Golden Frieza it’s starting to be one side battle
Sin45673 the fight between Goku and Kid Buu wasn’t one sided
@@donathan2933 That was before Golden Frieza

@@Jdudec367 goku vs final form frieza was one-sided because before goku turned super saiyan for the first time goku was just being wrecked
Some may not agree with me, but I think this is the greatest fight in all of Dragon Ball
I deffinatley agree
I think almost everyone will agree with you
Anyone who has seen this season will agree. It’s my personal through the whole franchise, but at worst, any knowledgeable fan will agree it was the best of any fight before Z
You mean in all anime

back in the day where Dragon Ball didn't require a power up to beat someone.its really a breath of fresh air
He did get a power up though..
@@user-ky9ou5dz9q no it's a technique
@@RealCGH no. If you've seen this arc of dragon ball youd know he got a HUGE just straight up power boost in the time skip. He may have become a better fighter, but most of this here is raw power. That's what's making the biggest difference. He could have all this technique and more but if he was as physically powerful as he was vs king piccolo he would have gotten one shot.
@@user-ky9ou5dz9q thanks for the info, but this power up clearly didn't work in his favor and Goku actually found a way to not get attacked. That's what make this power up different from others
Its before the show became about marketing milking and extending....this is late winter 1988 in the manga early spring 1989 in the anime
Still one of the greatest, if not the greatest fights in DB History.
In dragon ball history not z or super??
@@MAR-sc7np Well, that's what I mean. All of Dragon Ball. I think the fights in Z, especially later on and in Super rely too much on gimmicks. This fight was pure energy and drive.
@@NightFlyStudio what about super broly??
@@NightFlyStudio cause in super broly it looked a lot more then just them punching and using ki blast to me
@@MAR-sc7np Eh, Super Broly didn't do much for me. I don't really like rushed fight sequences. Naturally this fight took place over a handful of episodes, Super Broly fight didn't get started until a lot of plot dump. SB was alright though. I just like the choreography in this fight much more.
Blame piccolo for the heart virus... he put his filthy shoes right in Gokus exposed chest. Defintely caught an infection from that.
That is true 😆😆😆😆.
That would also explain why nobody on Earth knew what the virus was. It was from Namek. Okay that's my new headcanon.
Don't blame illegal aliens for spreading disease!
Wasn't it because of the planet yardrat?
Nah he got it from biting friezas nasty tail 😂
Ki attacks look so powerful here. I love it
They really were something in DB. It took a lot out of them. It was like using life energy at that point. Whereas by DBZ they could auto spam hundreds of blasts.

I agree.
Back when you had to work with what abilities you had, not just relying on insane golden power increase.
let's be real here, it shoulda ended with super Saiyan, when he first transformed it was badass. Shame they ruined it with different versions of it.
I mean Goku, Gohan, Trunks, and Vegeta worked their assess of to achieve, perfect, and ascend super saiyan but since only a collect few can do it, it's considered cheap bs.
Ethan3921 they literally reduced it to back tingling now.
Everyone can do it, it’s been reduced to such little now
RancidKari exactly! I don’t mind the extra forms, but they really disrespected Super Saiyan with that bullshit. At this point I’ll be expecting Caulifla to turn SSB because she had a “tingling feeling” on her ass.
@@RancidKari In a franchise about constantly raising the stakes and every new villain being more powerful than the last ofcourse Super saiyan is going to become a bit...mundane. I just think the super saiyan transformation and usage was handled alot better than people give it credit for.

There are only two trues:
1) When watching dragon ball, the older it is, the better it gets.

8:25 this whole moment has to be one of my favorite scenes from this fight. Great use of technique instead of brute and still had that goku personality on it. This whole fight will remain to be amazing until the end of time
Oh, the controllable Masenko? Yeah. Then followed by a Super Explosive Wave that turned the arena and most of the island to dust and rubble...only for Goku to have enough life force to withstand it!
Plus it was cool before this when Goku gave Piccolo an "inside job." Made an advantage of his greater size by doing that to retrieve Kami from that bottle.
0:46 was Goku trying to punch a hole in Piccolo again, but then Piccolo had a deja vu??
Yeah I think he tried again at 5:29 but he may have just been going for a regular punch
I like how this wasn't one of the fights goku was just being beat up for almost the entire fight
That didn’t really happen throughout the entirety of Db or Z tbf?
T Sayins were stronger than him, he couldn’t defeat Raditz, so sacrificed him.
Trained and got far stronger and beat Nappa, but Vegeta was viable much more powerful. He loses to Raditz and Vegeta, and washed Nappa.
Didn’t have a single difficult in the entire Frieza saga, at all.
Loses 1 fight in the Android saga, because of his heart condition. And then he gets written out whilst the other z fighters are washed by 17 and 18.
Doesn’t fight 16 or imperfect/Semi perfect cell, comes out of the time chamber nearly as strong as cell, and fights him on Evan ground.
Both Vegeta and Goku have the power to easily destroy each iteration of buu, but buu can regenerate.
You honestly can only point to kid buu in the entire series before super where Goku is beat up most of the battle before winning.
If you count movies then it’s different ofcourse. But series wise, he either loses (Raditz and Vegeta) or completely dog walks his opponent.
Why is Goku beating up Gohan's dad?
Lol, nice one
@@Nick-of-Time Thanks.

Dude, this is actually one of the most epic fights I have ever seen! I can't believe I forgot about this one!!
I like how its not about obtaining the ultimate power and fighting with what you have. There should be more fights in anime like this one!
It really is one of the best. A lot of big moments in this fight. Ki attacks look so destructive here. And when they actually go hand to hand, they both land and take multiple strikes back and forth.
Mann Piccolo has some epic moves, especially that signature regeneration and that growing large that we never see anymore.
I wanna see a fight between Goku/Vegeta Oozaru and Giant Piccolo or Slug.
Piccolo is my favorite character in the entire Dragon Ball series
This is one of the smoothest fights I ever seen in dragon ball
Back when Piccolo was ruthless and sadistic, instead of babysitting the grandchild of the person he originally wanted to kill
Not only that, but he babysitted Goten also
And his son
@@hollowdriller670 you meant gohan
Actually I'd disagree. Piccolo was never ruthless and sadistic. He was literally born to kill Goku so that's going to be a massive downer. Remember, he saved the kid from getting hit by debris from the lightning strike and he only knocked out the wolf and guards that attacked him. His father would have killed them. Also he didn't cut off Goku's arm when he had the chance, despite saying he was going to. Piccolo is only 4, he's just a scared kid and he has no idea what he's doing, he just knows that he was born to kill Goku and that's what he'll do. Also we learn later in The Saiyan Saga that he resets humanity because when he was a child they mistreated him based on his looks, even when he tried to be accommodating. Part of me thinks that when Piccolo stands up for Gohan during the Cell games, when he says "he's just a scared kid wondering why his father is making him fight a monster" he sympathised with Gohan because this is exactly how he felt.
Lanpanda well the comment said grandchild and gotten is the only grandchild so he probably meant gohan unless he made a mistake typing
I nearly forgot that Namekians could grow in size. Odd though how Piccolo only does that again against Garlic Junior and he didn’t even grow that big.
I guess it doen't really help him. He juts gets slow. If you read the Super manga, his ability was just used in the last chapter and it wasn't really successful
Yeah...Toriyama kinda forgot too.
@@navi2181 In the original Dragon Ball they said it made him stronger and the larger he got the stronger he became. This doesn't really make sense when you look at other uses of the technique though.

best fight in dragon balls history hands down
I agree.
Ki blasts just had more impact back then. I liked how rough they were at times, with miniature auras, sparks and the such. They just have more weight and power behind them.
Even into Z they still felt, stronger. Idk how to out it eloquently. But I think after freiza they were a little toned down. And in super way moreso.
The animation here is infinitely better than anything in super hands down...

Nah I disagree in my opinion I think DBS had the best animation
@@commandercheese7408 nice bait
@@theofficialbruhfish8094 what?
Dbz was full of the same cuts/frames and a lot of janky ass animation mixed in, never looked as fluid as this, I did fuck with the Sayin saga tho goku vs vegita was heat
Wow, all z fighters immediately running to goku when he needs help? That's unseen!
I never thought about it but I think I like the original dragonball's softer linework for adult goku and piccolo jr over the later dragonball Z's harsher lines. Just a personal preference thing, thanks for the supercut!
The designs here are definitely really good. They won't a little softer in Super Broly movie
Really good, but you miss the trash talking. Mind manipulation is like half of Dragon Ball fights. Like Goku manipulates Piccolo into growing even bigger so he can save Kami, and Piccolo manipulating Goku into taking his attack full on by threatening to kill the people who watch. And they ended up blew the entire continent.
Still, great watch. And, Super got NOTHING on this. Super only have watatatata and BS power level. No real struggling, no real blood, no real mind manipulation, no life death situation, etc.
Eureka Adang I mean, the Goku Black Saga is close to your description. They had to go back to the present three times (2 if you read manga), Vegeta had some blood when Black stabbed him in the chest, and when Zeno literally erased everything in the future. You’re right about the no real mind manipulation.
@@futurestarplayer6896 That saga confuses me.
Goku said something stupid almost every episodes. Good thing in the manga he said something smart to Vegeta like, " How could you didn't know Vegeta, this is basic," when Vegeta was suprised by Zamasu, while in the Anime it was Vegeta who said that. They really made Goku dumb.
Normal Human could stall Black with flash grenade and guns. Black could handle Goku who could blow planets and stars by the SIDE EFFECT of his punches. Really?
Black ALWAYS said that he hate ningens, but for MANY episodes he didn't just blow Earth up and done with it.
Vegeta got stabbed, and thats it. In Saian saga, in Namek, in Buu Saga, get a hole in your chest/ stomach is a BIG thing, there are BLOODs everywhere, you got dizzy, you cannot walk properly, you struggle, etc. Vegeta got stabbed and thats it.
Zeno erazed everything, This is my point. So he is the Villain now? It should be Zamasu who did it.
Eureka Adang You’re right. The two Zamasus could’ve easily destroyed earth and multiple universes if they wanted to. Power scale means nothing in Super and that pisses me off. At this point, Baby Pan could kill Beerus. The only reason why there wasn’t a lot of blood is because of the stupid government rules. If someone can’t handle blood from a fucking anime, then idk what to tell them.
Wow... I forgot how good this was. You can actually follow what they are doing and understand the tactics, how they respond to each move. Nowadays I can barely follow the fight. They just randomly throw punches and blasts. It is too fast nowadays. I think everything post Frieza is kinda hard to follow. I wish they didn't go too far with power.
No actually it was after the cell saga it became hard to follow .
In the cell arc you could actually see what techniques Goku used against cell and how Gohan SS2 took his time against cell ..
It only goes to show how far they've come. It's pretty good to me. It's very epic watching Goku and Jiren exchanging punches in such a high speed that we see them completely still or slighty vibrating their arms
@@LuisEduardo-xm3tc I think DBS uses the "light speed" fighting as an excuse to not properly animate proper coreography for their fights. Goku vs Jiren was good but most of it was just the same, mindless punching and ki spheres. In a universe where almost everyone is supposed to be a martial artist you'd expect alot more coordination and coreography within their fights yet now a days it feels so reduced, only certain scenes that have an animator like takahashi, shida or shintani running it feel good, the rest just feels so...lazy and basic. I wish DBS would look back at DB and early DBZ and realize just because their characters are at a godly state doesnt mean we shouldnt be able to see normal paced fights and proper coordinated ones at that. Sadly its pretty much all down to transformations and whos ki beam is bigger so i doubt it will happen, just hoping Shintani brings something new to the table, not just in the animation but the fighting as well
@@TheMeal1317 dragon ball always was like this in my opinion. Like several seconds using the same movements. Even on this goku vs piccolo fight you can see it. Goku ss3 vs kid buu was also clear. Goku vs cell. Vegito vs buu and so on and so on

My friend , have a look at the King piccolo saga in Dragonball. It's how it all started. Directly after the end of the tournament and the legendary fight against Tienshinhan. You will love it.
The normal Piccolo we know from z is ( kind of ) the son of King Piccolo.
3:55 Fun fact, as said by Piccolo himself Gigantification doesn't boost his power at all. In reality it just gives Piccolo more mass.
And later makes him open for an inside job.
Hey guys, thanx for watching the video and liking or disliking it. I made another video from the DBS Broly movie, but I just can't upload it here, cause it would be taken down right away, so if you wanna see Vegeta, Goku and Gogeta vs Broly, check this out. thank you.

Piccolo has the best powers in dragon ball
This show and naruto have a huge problem. Once their successors come out and showed ridiculous shit it made great scenes like this feel a little empty in comparison. This and the OG naruto had crazy awesome fight scenes but then they scaled too far to fast and then all fights had to be crazy over the top.
On the contrary, I think this one still holds up marvelously. While neither character is really all that powerful in the grand scheme of things, their power relative to what is known at the time is still great, and this fight doesn't require cheap powerups to keep us interested. Modern fights honestly feel empty until Goku starts to actually give his all. This fight feels like both are giving it their all, with actual martial arts philosophy and technique as opposed to "Hit him really hard." Not to mention, the animation quality is still some of the best Dragon Ball has ever seen, even including the best parts of Super.
Spitting straight facts 😳
I think there is a difference to Naruto. When Naruto fights Sasuke we clearly KNOW that they are basically Genin level. Nameless Ninjas are usually shown to be useless but Kakashi, Gai, Asuma etc. wouldn´t had any problems fighting Sasuke on the Valley of the end and even back then there were characters much stronger than this ones. Also it was pretty clear that it wasn´t the final arc of Naruto but the interlude to the second act. Also, until the pain arc most characters werent all about power level. Sasori lost to his grandma who knew all his tricks and Sakura that actually was able to even neutralize his toxines. Hidan lost because he was full of himself and didnt think of other options to knock him out besides killing him. The fights were still reasonable at this point but changed as Mangaka think that the next enemy necessarily needs to be at least 2x stronger than the last after Pain. So we got after Tobi Madara (who should have stayed dead tbh), Kaguya and finally Sasuke again.
Meanwhile Piccolo was a world ending thread and said to be the strongest "creature" on Earth. Toriyama could have ended it with Piccolo being defeatet and Goku getting married. Their fights loses a lot by showing that both of this fighters were mere ants to the likes of Freezer or Buu.
@@jacobmonks3722 Thats right. DB was still about technique, new tricks and trump cards. You can see that when Goku fights Roshi and they start making up Martial Arts styles like Roshi acting all drunk to counter Gokus speed and Goku begins acting like a monkey to match Roshis unusual fighting style.
@@TheMetastasia And that's why Dragon Ball is so good.
*13:20* goku you magnificent basterd i read YOUR BOOK!!!
