  • Hello guys,
Today I am working on a bean to cup machine from Krups. This unit is leaking coffee from under the unit meaning we have a faulty heater seal.
In this video I am showing you the quickest way to change this seal.
The ordering code for the seal is MS- 5015004

Perfect! I was prepared to toss the machine and upgrade. …but I told myself I would watch a couple of tutorials and give it one more chance. Your video was exactly what I needed to replace the o-ring and I’m back in business. Thank you!

Thank you mate! Guided by your video, I've disassembled my EA815 and replaced the entire piston, seal etc in the heater unit to cure a coffee and water leak. Your guide is excellent!!!!😊

Nice repair video Professor! Even though I am not sure if I would attempt to do this myself was interesting learning experience. Thank you for posting the video Adrian.

Thank you mate. I did follow your instructions step by step, even if I have an EA8178. It worked perfectly and replaced all of the seals/ O-rings. Finally i can enjoy my coffee with more intense taste.

Hi Adrian, your videos are great and helpful. I followed all your videos very carefully with my Krups EA 8250 and have replaced the 2 rings on the piston as well as today replaced the very challenging gasket inside the unit.
After all that disassembly & reassembly 4 hours I was praying for a good cup of espresso again.
Everything fired back up as expected and I ran through the rinse cycle 3 time successfully.
On the 1st attempt at 4oz of coffee the unit started to pour coffee through both nozzles but about half way I heard a click and then coffee & grinds started to come up from the piston area (I left the upper most cover off for viewing). After getting about 2 ozs of coffee colored water started coming from under the machine and the drip tray filled with the balance of the coffee. I can send a video to better demonstrate.
Perhaps you are also familiar with this situation. I hate to spend so many hours and then just give up on this $600 Espresso Maker
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Jim

I replaced this part, even reopening the machine again to 100% confirm it was still seated properly. I used food grade silicone to seat it, and deep cleaned the unit while it was apart.
The unit still leaks coffee, and I can tell there is low pressure when brewing sometimes. I am wondering if I need to try descaling somehow. In another post, you mentioned pouring vinegar in the cylinder chamber. Are you referring to the chamber into which the coffee grinds flow into (the "brewing" chamber)?

Just wanted to comment that its not necessary to disassemble the machine to replace this seal. There is a russian video showing an access hole to hold the plunger stationary with a t10 screwdriver from beneath the unit while unscrewing the plate in the brew chamber. It will save you a lot of time.

My Krups ea893c10 (which have the same parts) it's clogging all the time with coffee because it's not disposing the used coffee coin anymore. Do you know can I fix this?

I tried to take apart an EA81 following a guide, but I made a mistake somewhere and now I think there might be a short circuit. The small display inside is showing error code 9, and I can hear a clicking sound from the relay, but nothing else happens. Do you have any ideas on what could be wrong?
UPDATE: I managed to find the issue - the metal connectors on the sensor at the front of the boiler had come off. I moved the thermal fuses out of the way and soldered them back on.
Now I'm facing the original problems:
1: The plastic arm that moves across at the beginning of the cycle doesn't fully complete its movement. The plunger catches the edge of it with a loud bang.
2: No water is coming into the coffee receptacle. I have ruled out the boiler (and probably the pump) as the problem because boiling hot water still sprays out forcefully from the steam nozzle during that stage.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Adrian, I followed up running a full clean cycle … no water is going into the intended container all the water is running out the bottom of the machine. There must be another plugged up area I would imagine. Any suggestions. Other wise the piston chamber doesn’t remain closed and the water and/or coffee escapes through the top of the coffee chamber. I also noticed after the cleaning cycle there was 5+ oz of water in the waste coffee pod dispenser. Perhaps that indicates what type of failure I have?
Any help would be greatly appr
    Thanks
    Jim

You need to clean the distributor in your case. It is a white junction looking unit with a motor attached next to the heater element.

I have replaced the heater seal and the piston and o-rings. I still have leaking around the piston. During the brew cycle the piston keeps drifting up until the upper o-ring is exposed. Coffee and steam blow past the seal. Any direction on what is happening?

I also have water flowing under the machine. Could this be from the gasket?
Or is it the problem with the pump?

Please sir, I have a blockage in the heating chamber. Is there a solution? Thank you

    • @benassy69
      @benassy69  Год назад

There is a very simple solution. Open the plastic super cover and pour vinegar into the cilindre chamber. The vinegar will flow inside the heater and will dissolve the limescale. Let it like this for 30 min and than start a discaling process.

Adrian, thanks for the quick reply. To access the Distributor does the unit need to be completely disassembled again? Is this an easy item to clean ??? Thanks so much
