As a Jambo who now lives in the west I kinda agree with first guy. I worked in an engineering workshop with great hearts/hibs banter. The derby was all about the workshop bragging rights. Even during the 22 games in a row. I grew up in East Lothian and I never understood why folks would get on buses to go to Glasgow instead of supporting either one of the Edinburgh teams. My experience in the west has shown me that lots of old firm fans just don't get it. They all think that we favour one or the other whereas we disliked them equally as much because of the east/west split. I'm fairly sure thats why some Hibs fans have a green and white union flag? To annoy rangers fans because they've turned the flag green and white and to annoy the Celtic fans as its still a union flag. Favourite derby moment is when i was lucky enough to be in the Hearts end at Easter road when Foster scored and jumped on the fence. Old school terrace carnage.
As a Hibs fan I used to look forward to the Edinburgh derby and yesterday's game your semi final it only took 4 and a half minutes for rangers to get a goal past yous my brother got further than hearts he got to the final of the Scottish cup with Whitehall welfare and it was against Celtic and they only got beaten 3 _ 0 and big Pierre was playing for Celtic at the time plus the late Tommy burns was manager for Celtic and my brother was manager for Whitehall welfare and what a game it was something for him to tell his kids which he has and we are all proud of him the end of the game the Celtic fans and Whitehall welfare fans all stood up and gave the team a round of applause also Tommy burns took all the Whitehall welfare team to parkhead to train with the first team and they all got signed tops and my brother got Edinburgh crystal from the late Tommy burns also they made it to the final through there own hard work now in 2024 we own everything connected to Hibs but hearts are still due Anne budge her money back yes the fans may own the club but they need to get there debts payed off because let's face it Anne budge isn't getting any younger is she so to all the hearts fans including half my family I wouldn't shout about negative crap and the idiot who put something nasty up about Gary O'Connor fricking grow up 1 last thing yes we won the cup in 2016 and a really nice old man from westerhailes called Sammy Martinez was at that game to see his beloved Hibs lift the cup and he always said that he wasn't going to meet his beloved wife Mary until Hibs win the cup and he was at the game and he saw Hibs beat rangers to get the cup and a wee while later sadly Sammy Martinez passed away and now he's in heaven with his wife Mary and grandson Paul rip Sammy Martinez you were a true friend to many and you are so lucky to have lived to 106yrs old and see Hibs lift the cup
