Love the build! I have an 85 Nishiki century that I absolutely love, just not sold on the old diacompe caliper brakes. Did you put 27”s on the bike or some 700c wheels?
Thanks for watching! I believe I used some 27” wheels from my Panasonic build for this one as the 5 speed freewheel was stuck. I really don’t like those brakes either. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for watching! I will keep an eye out for the proper bike for doing this. I do have plans for this winter for a video on my Wabi Lightning fixed gear, if you are into fixed gear bikes.
I really need a video that shows a tutorial about converting 7 speeds to fixie because i have a road bike with 7 speeds and I absolutely have no idea how to turn it into a fixed gear… i hope you can post a tutorial vid soon, god bless❤❤❤
Depending on the hub your rear wheel has it may or may not be possible. I would guess you have a freewheel. Your first step would be to determine if you have a freewheel or cassette. If you have a freewheel, look how to remove it. These can be really tough to remove. Once removed you *may* be able to screw on a fixed gear cog and lock ring. Good luck
i think i'll do this 'conversion too with my 'mid '70's 10 speed'!!!!.....i believe my Frame is Still Straight...& Solid!!! ..but everything else..poor shape! Cheers!
I just don't get why people want single speeds. I had them as a kid and they sucked. You had to walk up steep hills and you're always spinning out, going down hills. Once they came out with 10 speeds, I never looked back.
When you live in a flat city, single speeds are quite fine because you would use only 2 gears 99% of the time if you had gears, so you lose almost nothing. But on the other hand you get away from the expense and weight of having a front gear, back derailleur, cables and a cassette. It's a quite good trade. Still, I like having gears on the back, not on the front.
Nice convert! Love the gum wall tires
Thanks for watching!!

Nice work! I'm working on a similar build and eager to put it together 👏👏👍
Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!!
Hello, can you make a video about converting 7 speed to fixed gear.. Please❤

How many teeth did the cog and the chainring have?
Thanks for watching! It was a while ago, and I don't exactly remember what the Chainring had, but the freewheel had 17 teeth.

Thanks for watching!! I get what you are saying, but I love the simplicity of just one gear and wanted to build one. Thanks for watching again.
@@TheValueBikeAdvocate Totally get it. Nothing against what you're doing. Just making a general statement.
