    Please ask for your help:
1- which hammer drill did you use ??
2- which drill to drill the rock you used (make and model of drill) ??
3- I verified that you made a hole approximately 15 cm deep and an inch in diameter. Using the drill mentioned in question 2, how many holes can you drill on average with this drill before it loses its cut ??
This information is important to me. I have been waiting for more than 20 years for the solution of breaking rocks on land that I have and can only use this solution because there are houses next to it. I thank you in advance for your answers.

      Hi,
The hammer drill was very basic, if i remember it didn't have lot of power. It was SDS+ tool socket.
The drill what i used was SDS+, 20mm and lenght was 310 or 450mm. I did buy drills from biltema. www.biltema.fi/en-fi/tools/drill/concrete-drill-bits/hammer-drill-sds--2000016842
The hole diameter was 20mm, same as the splitting wedges.
I did drill the hole in stone only deep as needed, the hole should be deep enough at splitting wedge does not bottom at the end of the hole.
Stone quality and hardness may depends how many hole can drill do and stay sharp. I did get at least 10 holes. And also how much pressing drill, and the heat can also loses the cutting power. I dont have these gears anymore, but hope this will helps.

Go to instagram and enter rockportcutgranite and you will see how stone is really split We use different size drills but the Bosch bulldog rotary hammer is the best for your money. but drill bit should be no larger than 5/8 Do not put hot drill bit in cold water the temp difference may fracture carbide, We sometimes drill 40-50 holes at a time continuosly with same bit , you will find correct info about drilling stone from people that do it for a liing

Easy and to the point. I no longer use explosives since watching this video. God bless.

Good video for showing how it is done but if the intent is to be informative then
    - What drill did you use and how large are the holes.
    - what type of rock. It looks like a hard stone not limestone or sandstone.

      20mm, yes it is hardstone.

It's environment friendly but when splitting bigger chunks of rocks,it's advisable to use rock explosives.

that freaks out the neighbors. Wedges and feathers are psychologically more freindly.

Mistähän sais kestäviä kiiloja, musta noi Tamon kiilat ei ole hyvää materiaalia, katkeavat ne sivuhärpäkkeet helposti. Jotkut sanoo et pora ja porat on kalliita mut ei ollenkaan!

Nice. It would be more helpful if you mention each and every tool used. This method is very useful for me. But I hav no knowledge of drill machine n it's bits...as well as the rods you have put in the holes. Plz help🙂

He used a rotary hammer drill with SDS (special masonry) bits to make pilot holes. Then he put in wedges and shims and lightly tapped them into place. Then he went around and lightly tapped each one until he saw a crack appear. It's important to know that if you start getting a lot of resistance on one wedge, you probably should move to the next one

@@dextaman Pikaisella googletuksella noita kiiloja näytti olevan mynnissä. 20mm kiilat olivat käytössä. Biltemasta sai pitkiä kiviporanteriä aika edullisesti, jos oikein muistan sds kiinnityksellä. Ohuesti kun voitelee kiilat öljyllä liikkuu paremmin. Suojalasit, kuulosuojaimet ja hengityssuojain suositeltavaa.
