    Well I purchased a new ducati multistrada enduro and after just a little over a year it needed an engine rebuild. And after that it spend the next 6 out of 12 months in the shop
    I ran into a few other people who had their engines replaced or rebuilt. Every triumph owner I’ve ever met was super happy with their bike so I would have to go with the triumph.

    Just bought the 800 icon and love it for riding around Paris and for weekend jaunts. The 1100 is tempting but one of the things that I love about the 800 is it's light weight. Also very flickable and easy through traffic. I think that 1100 would be a bit more of a handfull for my purposes. If I lived in a more rural area, I would definitely consider trading up.

    I had the standard black and silver 1100 for 6 months and now bought the sport. Take one for a test ride before criticising the 1100 scrambler, they are simply brilliant, proper bike that rides fantastic, pops bangs like riding a Spitfire 👌🏼
    Also quick mention the tyres are brilliant they never let go and I've got no chicken lines what so ever 👍🏼

      @chriscooperCRF300 Месяц назад

      Yes mate, the Ohlins are fantastic, you can find a sweet spot with them whatever your weight, love the bikes they make you feel great riding, the only downside is the build quality in a few areas, the lower cylinder head looses all it's power coating and bolts snap! ACF50 everything and grease all bolts 👍🏼

      @aldeen1982 Месяц назад

      @@chriscooperCRF300 Thank you! I believe, the Ohlins are fantastic. But is the standard marzocchi fork that much worse? I am think of buying a new Standard Pro with no ohlins. 🙂

      @chriscooperCRF300 Месяц назад

      @@aldeen1982go for it they'll be absolutely fine, the only reason I could notice a difference is because I bought a stranded and my friend bought the sport, so we would ride all day swapping, when pushing hard the Ohlins were undoubtedly better, but for 95% of the time the standards are fine, great bike you'll really enjoy it 👌🏼

      I'm test riding the Triumph scrambler 1200 xe, I sold my Ducati about a year ago and went adventure bike but I'm now in a position to have 2 bikes, the Triumph needs to be good because I'd be more than happy with another Ducati 1100 scrambler, that would be my 3rd 😆

    I have a Monster 796 and it has the same bhp. Of course because pollution regulations. For sure should be a Monster 1100 with the same engine but more power, I would say that better go for a second hand monster, is the same engine.

    Triumph fan boy here . Out of the Ducati and Triumph scramblers, I think I'd go for the Ducati, in red. The high level, thigh rubbing pipes on the Triumph have never appealed to me. At least the pipes on the Ducati go down a bit before going skywards, and don't look ridiculous.
    In the meantime I'll stick with road biased Triumphs.

    When your buying European over Japanese, pricing is a factor but not as much if your going for a run of the mill Japanese bike. European bikes have the mystique and exclusivity. Ducati and MV make the sexiest, boutique bikes!

      Cheers MG - the triumph scrambler makes sense when you ride it. It's like a big retro monster truck on 2 wheels, especially the XE version. Must admit I've not tried this one though, and it looks to be much more road focused. Essentially a monster with a torquey tune and retro styling.

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 4 года назад

      Maybe, however the Monsters at least have road biased tyres instead of the compromise. An “off-road” Ducati? A bit like fitting off-road type tyres to a Ferrari...

    How hot does it get in the riding position after riding 30 minutes to an hour? I live in a hot southwest climate in Texas. So even mild heat off of the bike is magnified greatly in the summer heat. I like modern retro styling but heat from the motor or exhaust is main issue in bike preference to me.

    I think the triumph is a better looking bike than the Ducati, but the proof is always in the riding. Personally, I'd buy a bike a couple of years old and get a chunk off the price. The problem is that there are dozens and dozens of absolutely fantastic bikes you could get for £11-12k! So unless you REALLY want a specific bike, there is a lot to tempt you away. That's why Enfield have done so well, there isn't really any competition at the price point. Even second hand triumphs are going to be more than an Enfield new.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  4 года назад

      Yeah I agree - if I was spending that kind of money I don't think I'd know what to go for. Probably an adventure bike for the versatility... but there are loads of great nakeds too. Too true about the enfields though - redefined the benchmark for pricing.

    • @LuisGarcia-sq5mm
      @LuisGarcia-sq5mm 4 года назад

      T120 is a lot torque at the lower rpm which makes it a perfect machine for steady long relaxed rides. I believe Ducati is the opposite, it’s the type of back you want to crack the throttle on and throw around twisties. Harder to 2 up on. I own a 2020 T120

    When your spending $10,000 plus what is another $800. I can not believe people making a choice over $800 difference. More likely to believe the difference between the 800 and 1100cc are closer so people opting for the 1100 over the 800. Human nature wants something better vs being happy with the 800 and investing the difference in the stock market like in Ducati stock. When you buy a depreciating asset from a company you love, might as well buy a piece of the appreciating company. Lol
