Riptos full release is November 21st and is unlocked by earning 50 Relic/KO assist badges. So either use 20 or 60 relics each match for 1-2 Relic assist badges. Or attack at least 3 players who are killed by someone else? for KO badge(not sure how it exactly works) (Ripto can be unlocked early by moving console date beyond November 21st 2023 if you don't want to wait. Also actual 'early access' event is October 26th.
Why exploit by moving console date forwards to unlock him early? I have over 600h in game hours with everything unlocked including all party mode badges so I wanted something new instead of waiting weeks for new content. Most weekly events/TFB Labs are disappointing so can barely call them content. And all the issues the game has is frustrating(such as tar valley slowshrooms disabled for month) so being able to play as Ripto early was great.
I still really wish that his moveset felt good to use instead of only clunky moves

Man, I hope toys for Bob introduces a campaign mode for the next season. I would love to see some character interaction that would take place before, during, & after the events of Crash 4 like the promotional comics.

@Roskat No, because Ripto at this point is an unfinished character, CGE has mentioned things like Him possibly being overpowered and bugged beyond belief.

because he thought you need to hack the game to get access to him, but it was intended console feature to get access to Ripto, so there's no reason to get any ban

If I were you, I would play in bot mode just to test and not in competitive mode, but other than that, can you teach me how to play in advance before early access?
Just to be clear, he's not actually unlocked. Can only play in competitive, and once you stop playing in competitive, you can't play as him anymore(until his event starts). Description of the vid should say how to unlock him
But I'm from Brazil and it didn't work for me, do I have to delete the save and then change the date and time to bypass the time system?
I tried this myself and didn't play as him, i heard you need to get 50 assists? also i heard that after you stop playing competitive you can't play as him again, does this mean you cant switch modes or you cant get off of competitive at all?

HI thanks for you video, ive set the console clock system to 2024 , but why the hero wont show up ? in the heros section
he won't show up. you need 50 relic assist badges(20 relics for 1 badge per game) or ko assist badges to unlock him. so count how many you get them, it might take few hours even

Edit: To clarify, the exploit seems to only work on Play Station and not the Xbox.
Reading these comments, I must say that even though setting the date and time to get characters early is.....controversial in a way because other people don't have them yet, I don't think it's worth snitching on and banning someone over. Having a regular character early is not giving him an unfair and cheaty advantage over others, the gameplay is still considered normal. No hacks have been done for aim bots, infinite health, and other unfair cheats (which WOULD justify a ban).
Hacking the game is much harder than simply setting the console's date and time ahead to unlock stuff early, which anyone (Play Station) can do. And with the sheer amount of Play Station users that could be doing the same thing now as we speak, it's not worth Toys For Bob's time to bring out the banhammer against massive amounts of people for toying with their console date which was an intended feature to begin with.
Toys for Bob should focus their time updating the game and banning people who are hacking the game for god mode related stats. Plus, Ripto is due for early access on Oct 26, which is technically unlocking him "early". Some people won't get him until the end of November for full access. Plus, gamers aren't going to have all the same characters or content at the same time in games like this, they have to work to unlock them. Ripto's early release is around the corner anyway, so there's no need to waste Toys for Bob's time on this.
and people don't understand/know it was possible to play as Ripto only until I left the competitive lobby I was in. so have to wait until the Ripto event starts to play again as him. Same with minefield power for its own event.
Anyone can do this? Mind explaining how to do change the date on xbox series X?
@@generalrabid9572 I heard it can be changed when in offline mode, but once online, the xbox would update to the current date/time. Just a manufacturer's choice. I assume the console in this video is a Playstation because date/time was not reset to present when he went online to play. If it's xbox, then I have no idea how it worked. I don't know how console settings work overall, just going by the knowledge that people can and are doing this easily. I suppose I should've clarified that "anyone can do this" with a console where the dates can be set manually, which would've been intended by the manufacturer to be that way.

I don't know how these temporary events work as I don't have the game nor a console, only going by what I know so far from watching gameplay from those who do have the game and the release dates for stuff. XD

I'm not gonna watch the gameplay cause I don't wanna spoil for myself. Just wanna say this vid showed up on the same day that a friend of mine was talking about how stupid Canadian Guy Eh was acting about people that play ripto early. I support people that do the thing to play him early as well
that's fair. not wanting to be spoiled how he works. also he may still change until now and event release. so at least can do some comparison in case there's any difference.
Be careful if you decide to use it though because CGE simps will mass report you for the crime of having fun.
