Beautiful video. Tears in my eyes. Just happy to see all those RETURNING. May G-D protect all those families, meet their daily needs, make them happy citizens. You are truly blessed.
I am not even Jewish but I couldn't help being overwhelmed by emotion. I've been watching your videos and blog for years! I have no idea how I found you. I think it has something to do with my Brooklyn heritage coupled with my years spent studying at Barnard. I wish you, your family, and all the other families nothing but the best!
Jamie and family I sobbed when I saw this you are an amazing woman and your husband an amazing man... I pray Hashem give you the desires of your heart.. One of the most amazing and emotional things I have ever seen on RUclips I'm so glad I'm part of your Channel... May your blessings overtake you you're in my prayers and I know you're where Hashem wants you to be.. Baruch Hashem!!!!!
AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN!!! I can not thank you enough for these brachos -- it was worth releasing this film for your blessings alone, I am so very touched. I also wish you blessings in abundance. XOXOXO!!!!
Wow, I can not believe this was 12 years ago! I remember watching it, now in about 10 months it's my turn! Thank you for sharing your journey! Am yisroel Chai! I grew up living a flight away from the rest of my family, most of my parent's younger life they lived in various countries ranging from Kenya to Guam, Malta, Germany and back in the UK. I have only ever felt at home in 3 places, Spain (not so much now), Hong Kong and Israel, Funnily enough, when my Husband and I first went to Israel we both said the same thing, "Wow, isn't his just like a mix of HK and Spain" This is going to be home! that was within a day of arriving. The arrival that first time was full of drama and stress, but 24 hours later it was I do not want to leave. And now, the process has begun! Watching you say goodbye to your mum, makes me realise that your reunion will be awesome, I wish I had that opportunity.
So I read the comments with everyone saying how they cried their eyes out. Being British (& Israeli) I was like 'oh right, emotional Americans...' Well I'm sitting in a puddle of tears now and sent link to hubby in a hope he is stirred enough to get seriously thinking!
Please explain the beauty behind fleeing a safe country, which is a country you have recent ancestors from to go to a land which belongs to another people who have been ethnically cleansed, displaced, living as refugees so that you can come and steal their land. Please explain the beauty, because I see complicit criminals. From the river to the sea, Palestine WILL be free. Justice will prevail
I love your aliyah story, so inspiring. I'm making aliyah from Australia in a few months time, I'm already to go and your video makes me feel even more excited and connected to the Holy land.
Watching an actual family from the US move to Isreal is .....WOW. Your reaction on arrival says so much. Your loved ones greating you, again. WOW. Thank you for sharing. Love it.
I loved watching this family making Aliyah! I made Aliyah in 1997, but I had to return to the States for personal reasons. Such an exciting adventure for the Geller family and everyone who makes Aliyah to their homeland! I remember clapping when the airplane wheels hit the ground in Israel... what a joy!!! Thanks for uploading this video!!!!! I still have hopes that I will be able to return home again ... G-d willing!!!
This is such a beautiful day for these people! I have been sobbing, and the tears are rolling down my cheeks. I am so happy, however, for those making Aliyah. I don't know if I could do it myself. I have a family in this other country. I have been so disappointed in what has been happening lately on the university campuses, especially, and our president is the worst ever. I am afraid that I wouldn't fit into Israel. I am Jewish in reality but probably don't look like it. I don't know if this new family of Israel would accept me. I love this video, and I may consider moving there, myself but of course I would have to visit first. It draws you there doesn't it? It is such an amazingly unique calling to a land that you personally have never been to.
When my mind is filled with negativity I live this in my mind. From the packing and giving things away, the last Shabbat here, the farewell party and saying goodbye, the trip to the airport, the flight and landing. I talk and visualize the whole thing in my mind. I even have a part two where I see myself in my home in Israel. Unfortunately I do not merit to live this yet. G-d willing I pray it is soon.
I’m so depressed... I returned back to the states from yeshiva... I just contacted my yeshiva again! I haven’t been back for 5 months, and I’m begging my Rosh Yeshiva to let me return... seriously , why did I come back to America.. 😪 I do have a plan to return to Israel this year though.. I might just stay, and learn ..
Mazal Tov on your Aliyah! I was crying through the whole video. It is such an emotional experience. May your whole family have bracha and Nachas and a smooth transition to life in Eretz Yisroel.
Wonderful! Blessings on all...can only pray I too can one day, COME HOME, return to my real HOME. Blessings on all beloved Israel. Shalom alechim to all.
Remembering our own aliyah in 1988....didn't work out for our family like we had hoped, but we do have one daughter and 3 granddaughters living in Eretz Yisrael....baruch hashem. Wishing the Geller's and all the families Mazel Tov! V'Bhatzlacha! May we all meet in Yerushalyim now!
Jamie... my husband (who is from Israel) wants us to move from the US and make aliyah in the next couple years. I'm excited but also sad and scared, so it was somehow helpful to see you being so emotional having to leave the States and your friends. Sometimes people can make it seem like if you move to Israel then you don't need to be sad about leaving your home here, which isn't true! Thank you for showing the true emotions behind your move. I cried like a baby through the video! mazal tov!!
Dear Jamie, although the film is old I wish to congratulate you for makink Aliya to Israel, the home of the Jews. Would like to watch more topics of the daily life, if possible. Best, Ofra😊👌👌🌸🌸
There is nothing right wing or Christian about Aliyah. I'm a centre-left, lesbian, religious-moderate Jew and I made Aliyah from Australia on a flight that included some ultra-Orthodox Jews but also more than a few secular atheists. What we shared was a common dream, of having a country where our culture and way of thinking is that of the state and reflected in its laws and way of life. And there's also the amazing beaches (which are much cheaper to live close to), the 500Mbps Internet, and the warm open people - just try starting conversations with random strangers in Israel vs in America or Australia... We're all family to each other here. Don't be scared people. I know it's a big change, but I've done it, and... if you're Jewish and your heart tells you it's time to come home, then spread your wings and sing Hatikva and fly :) I'll be waiting for you here...
