They should do a fifth hardcover called: “The World of Superman”, collecting the three miniseries by John Byrne! World of Krypton, World of Smallville and World of Metropolis!!!

@@IAmTheOneWhoKnocksBB they annouced a "triangle era" omnibus, but going through its advertised contents there will still be a gap between Man of Steel vol.4 HC and that "triangle era" omnibus that's worth an omni by itself.
Stoked to get my copy later this week. Kinda wish they would've gone with a blue spine to match V.1 and bookend volumes 2 & 3 but oh well, just glad they completed Byrne's run.
This volume is outstanding, can't wait to re-read the story that led to Exile... non spoilery, but if you know you know. I agree with another guy's post, a V.5 with Byrne's World Of minis would be really cool.
Would love to see more omnis bridge the gap between Exile & Death/Return. Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite and Panic in the Sky could both anchor some nice omni collections.
Great video, Omar, congrats on the move! Hard parts over, now you get to rediscover some books you may have half forgotten about while unpacking, literally the only part of moving I like. 😁

Why the hell is the spine for vol 1 blue?!
If this one went back to blue as a bookend, it would have looked okay. Now it's going to drive me insane.

Any idea why this particular volume is out of print and super expensive on ebay and Amazon? The first three volumes are all still available on IST, Amazon, CGN, etc. for normal prices.
Like you I was super bummed they cancelled the original Omni plans and went with regular HC. With that said i do appreciate DC for actually not only putting out a good product but following through with it in a pretty timely manner. If they end up going with an Omni i probably will stick with what I have but hey never say never right? Great overview as always i'm placing my order soon.

As an aside, the paper quality for the Marvel Art of George Perez is very nice.
I've never really shipped Kal and Dianna but that artwork is stunning. Also, DC has the hc/omni game on lock. They are always such great quality and have great artwork under the dust jacket.
They would be the only couple that lasts since both Diana and Kal will outlive their human lovers.
@@jlopez240gaming7 That's a great point! I would also say that the relationships with a human could be even stronger then. Knowing you have limited time with someone can add to the intimacy.
I'm more than happy with these standard hardcovers and how quickly they released them 😊.
I want an Omnibus version!!!
DC omnis/OHCs take forever to come out and are few and far between... but they're always much more nicely styled than Marvel's. So pretty! Shame about the glued binding.
Now maybe in the next few years we will actually get an omnibus of this after milking some more money out of us for these poor substitute standard sized hardcovers. Disappointed but still enjoy the stories inside. Great overview as always ✌🏻

I started collecting the post crisis “the man of steel” series in softcover but anything after volume 4/5 is ridiculously expensive and hard to find I may have to purchase these omnibus instead

Different worlds was actually my first comic issue ever,I was not around when it was released,got a reprint or something,and death of Superman was my first trade,even though I am a batman fan,all my comic firsts are superman 🤣🤣
Im super struggling to decide on a Superman HC/TP series to start reading and collecting because of the monetary commitment.. I have the Earth One trilogy because it wasnt too expensive (and it was great!) Any recommendations for me anybody?
I am not too critical of glued binding,now that I am in the hobby for some years.Sewn binding tends to sag when placed upright while glued binding tends to stay tight
So won't be the vol 5 😞

DC have been hitting home runs with the design and binding of many of their omnis of late but the standard sized HC’s are a letdown. Happy to pass on this book, will be interested to check out the build of Swamp Thing’s third Absolute soon!

Omar (or anyone), do you know when we are likely to see the DC collected editions Fall 2022 catalog on edelweiss plus? Seems like the Spring 2022 catalog was released much further in advance. Sorry if this is common knowledge already.

I know about spines my absolute Dark victory split on me today about half way in and the pages are starting to come away. My first time reading it as well. Really annoyed. Going to attempt to fix it.
That sucks. I have a copy as well. Every time I read it, I worry about the binding. I love the huge Tim Sale art!!

I wish they would do a reprint of volume 1. I bought volume 1 but my stupid cats destroyed it by knocking it off the shelf literally within the first week of owning it.

Okay, no one gets to complain about Marvel's spines ever again. Sure, they made one design change on the "classic" Omnibus spines after fourteen years, but this? The design is a joke, even if you discount the gutter loss. How is it possible to not have a consistent colour scheme when it's only four volumes? And even more baffling, there are THREE different front cover designs over the four volumes! It has to be on purpose by this point, right?
I am happy to finally get Byrnes run in HC, though.
Nah Marvel’s idiotic decision was far worse and effected so many more books.
I'll feel sorry for the ones being milked, but on the other hand, enough demand and we can actually get what we want. Omnibus.
No need to feel sorry. As long as you play the long game, all books go out of print and eventually return more money than you paid for it, so i’ll happily buy the omni and then sell these for a profit later.
