The first pronunciation of Tathra is correct . As you head towards Narooma , there is Wagonga Inlet . Enjoy !

Book a caravan park . The weather will improve . The rain will be short lived . A couple of weeks ago we had really sunny weather in Sydney . I love Ben Boyd National Park , especially the Pinnacles with all the coloured rocks on the beach . Then there is Green Cape lighthouse but you have to take a dirt track road through the bushes then out to the lighthouse .There see cliffs forests beaches that you can hike to . I am so sorry that you have copped a lot of rain . As you go further north to Queensland the weather will be warmer because it is the dry season . Best of luck !
Caravan parks can be amazing, but some are just too expensive lol. We’re heading north so a lot of sun to come our way! (Hopefully)
@@JamesandJosieTravel Between May and October is the better time for Central Queensland and Northern Queensland . You won’t get hit by a Cyclone this time of year . Look up CJ Explores . They have done the big lap around Australia and now live in Palm Beach southern Queensland . Check out their vlogs as it will be a great help to you . Charlotte is actually English and Cory is a New Zealander . Best of luck going north ! ♥️

The toy Parrot you have is DIFFERENT to a Lorikeet (which are green with yellow and red) where as the cardboard one you have is more red, blue and yellow and is know as a Rosella - and are typically shy. However, you can find tame ones of these at the Bald hill reserve at Stawell Tops, south of Sydney, NSW but you can see them elsewhere. The Lorikeet can be found almost every where in NSW.

@@JamesandJosieTravel @JamesandJosieTravel LOL, it is a parrot, but there are many many parrots. Think of parrot as a generic word to describe the family of parrots. Since you're here in Aust. dive into a 2nd hand book store and pick up a bird book cheap and you can research spices as you travel. Good luck for your lap. You might care to review other people doing laps as their info might help you plan and be helpful: TIAV (Trip In A Van), or One Pack Wanderers, or Jason and Jordan (wh0 have just recently started their lap). All these can give great insights and advice. I've travelled a fair bit of Aust. so if you have questions just ask. Enjoy your lap.

Hahaha we will grab a bird book, for sure. We didn’t even think of that! Thank you for all of the recommendations, it’s so useful to watch other people’s travels for advice. We’re just getting round to uploading some more of our Sydney travels in the next few weeks. If we missed anything, please let us know and we’ll have to explore some more!! Okay here's the tip for those who are unaccustomed to camping in the rain. You pack everything up outside of the tent that is considered hardware (tables and chairs if you've got them, cooking utensils, etc., lights, torches, all that sort of gear, pack it up and put it either in the boot or the tray of the Ute that you using) and put it in the car. The tent is the last thing you pack up when it's time to pack up your bedding and everything you get to the tent and you take your shoes off and you crawl inside the tent (if you don't have a tent with a slight awning out the front of it, then get one. You need a tent with a slight awning or a separate vestibule that allows you a small area which is covered to keep things out of the rain but which is not inside the tent screened area), you let down the mattress roll up your sleeping bags and you put the sleeping bags and them in their bags, and the blowup mattress you either roll up or you fold into a square and then when you've got everything out of the tent into a bag or a box you then step out of the temp into your shoes which you would've put in a corner to keep dry. Then you sweep out the floor of the tent the dirt that would've been on your shoes then you fold down the tent put it in the bag and keep it in the rear of the Ute that you're travelling in, or in the boot of your car so it's not getting the car wet.

"Bin chickens" 🤣... I hope we see a cassowary, but they're apparently quite rare!

Rain is ok. I hate the windy days.
If it rains down Canberra way in winter it's going to be freezing rain or even sleet or if really lucky a touch of snow.
OHHHHH we really hope not.. 😆 but snow might be quite fun!
Those spiders are fine as most are. Just leave them alone and admire them. 😉

You'll see lots of fruit bats come dusk as they are all out going to their favourite spots to eat. Our bats are lovely creatures. Just shit berries and will eat into your paintwork on your vehicle if left there.
There are so many! We saw similar in Asia. They are interesting creatures 👀
@@JamesandJosieTravel yeah bats are lovely. Their wings feel like fine thin leather and their bodies have soft fur. They are inquisitive creatures.
