In this video we go under the skin of a phase 1 clio v6 and learn more about how much it shares with the standard production car and hows it made to be different.
Do a phase 2 video like this and perhaps explain a bit the rear subframe and suspension setup. Also where is the driver's side air intake lead to? As I see the passenger one goes to the air filter. Love this video, it's the only one I could find that shows the inner bits of the v6! 🙂
Nice to see it all apart and explained. It looks very similar to the R5 Turbo 2 set up. I have a PH1 and a R5T2. I have one question. Does the front wings (fenders) have to be taken off to remove the front bumper? I want to do some work on the bumper but want to do it with the bumper off.
Many thanks, great video. I'd like to know how much the Phase 1 was tamed down from the Trophy race car when Renault decided to build the road car under homologation rules. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see a Phase 2 under the skin.
Many thanks is amazing to see this for who love clio sorry my bad English but can you explain about control wheels and all u must change from normal clio 99 to be able to put a 2k motor or 3k motor without brake the wheels supports exc..
I have a phase 1, I'm looking at doing a v6 conversion... I have the opportunity to buy the rear subframe and everything needed to convert... I don't know however if they suspension pickup points are teh same as a standard? Also are the suspension turrets the same as standard? Are the hubs the same? I assume different as they need driveshafts?
Do you carry out body repairs? And if so, are you insurance-approved? My Phase 1 has just been driven into by someone in a van- front wing, and bumper damaged
Expensive car for what it is. In other words, it's cheaper and better to buy an old clio and laguna with a v6 engine (the clio v6 had a laguna engine and gearbox, the electronics that didn't work properly on the clio were removed) and build a real v6 from that.

Hi yes these wrap round the bumper on a phase 1, it’s safer to remove them than try and pull them out to clear as the fixing are getting old.
@@sgmotorsportservices400 Thanks a bunch.
