I too am addicted to buying more and more sketchbooks Hadley!! 😊 I’ve also been the dingy to buy huge sketchbooks and then regretted it because I still have large sketchbooks not completed. I found lately that a 5x5 x 8x5 is becoming my favorite, and I’m living tab or gray paper lately. Never thought I would! ☺️ Another idea: doing a neuro graphic drawing to get inspiration started.
yess a fellow sketchbook lover, I love it! I agree the 8x5 size is great, I like how it's a little more square than a moleskine. and you're so right about neuro graphic drawings, what a good way to start a sketchbook!
Such a David Hockney fan. I recently saw A bigger splash at the Tate Britain and it immediately made me want to go paint, so mesmerising. I love your tulip jellycat (?) in the background, too cute. A super helpful video!!
thank you so much!! I can only imagine how cool that painting would be up close! I remember seeing Mulholland Drive: the Road to the Studio for the first time in person, and I was so blown away by it!!
Thx you for the video! Would you consider making a video showing your midori sketchbook? I’ve been thinking about buying it for a long time but idk if is good for mix media
I'm so glad you'd be interested in that! I'm definitely going to post a sketchbook tour once I finish it, which shouldn't take me too much longer. I do everything in this sketchbook, but tbh I wouldn't say it's the besttt for mixed media. I think the book is probably meant just for pencil/ink, but I kind of like when the pages get wrinkly and stuff - I still do a lot of watercolor in it. so it's just up to you if you're ok with wrinkly pages!
Anything spiral - bound is an abomination. I'm convinced that it is the most discriminating and hateful creation made by mankind. Whether you're left or right handed it is very hard to get it to cooperate with you and you have to adjust to it. All that to say perfect binded sketchbook supremacy! You're using money you worked hard for, do yourself a favor. Unless of course you're painting on it horizontally, pretend you never saw this comment. 🥰🥰🥰
