  • In this video, I fly the Boeing 777-200ER out of London, Heathrow and make a 11 hour journey across the globe to San Diego, California on a beautiful approach. This was one of the real world flights that became interrupted by a certain global phenomena, but has recently comeback and is making this flight more regularly. What you hear in this video is a sound mod by FTsim mixed with real life sounds and recordings. Enjoy!
    Thank you to Skylite Productions! I use a lot of the sounds from there and where a lot of real and authentic content is created on various aircraft and airlines. / sla31

      It's actually because of the force of landing, and activation of the spoilers. If you see a planes wings on takeoff roll they begin to lift up at sufficient speed, regardless of being on the ground (weight on the wheels)

    I can't believe how far virtual reality has come in such a short time. I grew up playing Flight Simulator on an Apple 2 on a green / black display. The airplane was a single pixel on the screen and the "earth" was represented by a checkerboard square pattern to create the illusion of altitude. The airspeed, altitude, and angle were displayed at the top in text. This was enough to entertain us back in the 1980s (along with imagination).
    These days, my imagination plays no part of the simulation. We are basically on the verge of making games indistinguishable from reality. I would say that this video is on the threshold. Thanks for sharing!

    • @N34RT
      @N34RT 2 года назад +1

      I would suggest this isn't a "Game" but a "Flight Simulator". In "games" there is usually some sort of points/levels/achievements as incentives to the "players" or competitors. Simulators on the other hand, are primarily purposed for giving the user a "simulated experience", usually either flight or driving.

    • @frankbyte
      @frankbyte 2 года назад +3

      @@N34RT Well...you are not completely wrong. But that's exactly the problem i'm having with MSFS. There are "gaming-components" that attract gamers, because you have races and can get points. Thats why it is so popular. As a "hardcore simmer" since over 3 decades i must say that i have been very disappointed by MSFS. Last flight with the C172 and trying to tune a VOR frequency...it didn't work! Even basic things like that are missing and that is a shame. The devs put way too much energy in making it a game with races etc. and eye-goodies. But they forgot the simulator-part. And i've heard many pilots complaining about that too. For example the shape of the aircraft in MSFS doesn't impact the flightmodel, as it should in real life. So for me MSFS is still not really there yet although it has potential. I think that most of the "hardcore simmers" still use mostly XP/P3D and not MSFS. On the other side XBox gamers cannot understand why people have fun using XP...because simply they don't understand the purpose of a sim ;-) Just my 2 cents.

    • @N34RT
      @N34RT 2 года назад +1

    I live near KSAN and could see my house! 😂
    Hard to tell what's real and not these days but great animation.
    British Airways has been using a 787 since restarting this route after the covid shutdown which is s great move considering economy for a route that likely isn't very profitable - replacing a daily 747 which flew this route before the Covid shutdown for year plus at most that had replaced a daily 777.
    I've flown this BA KSAN/LHR/KSAN route on 777's and occasionally will tune into SoCal ATC around landing time between 4 & 5pm to hear the word Speedbird and watch it fly overhead. Enjoyed listening to the huge 777 trents as they ripped the air. 747 was more a traditional 4 engine old school scream with accompanying low rumble of all that air displacement, the 787 is very quiet and sleek.

    Great video. Better than most. Beautiful sim.
    Tips;
    -Turn on autothrottles on preflight. Sets TO thrust. FMA switches to HOLD at 80KIAS and will capture V2 for engine failure.
    -Display switch should be on MFD or NAV
    -Clear the Master Caution before push
    -Set V2 in the window
    -Arm LNAV and VNAV
    -Clear recalls before start
    -Display engines on lower ctr for auto start. System doesn't monitor oil pressure.
    -Learn the VNAV, it works amazing. V/S is lazy and unprofessional.
    -You probably have approach charts by now, set your minimums including Vref and landing flaps
    -Those lights should have been set through 18k or 10k depending on Co procedure. Not short final. 😂
    -Arm the speed brake. It goes "gear down, flaps 20" and arm the speed brake. Otherwise they won't deploy on landing.
    -Autothrottles can stay on for landing if you choose. It is most often.
    -The autobrakes go to Disarm with manual brakes or retraction of the speed brakes. This sim isn't accurate if the switch goes to OFF. That's a manual function for the knucklehead sitting next to you.
    -Configuration changes are made after exiting the runway.
    Don't let the 737 sim guys tell you how to fly the triple. This is an old man's airplane by design.
    Again, best video I've seen. Nice work.

    I played one of these a few years ago, I managed to take off in a 737 and I am sure my passengers had the most wonderful time, what with all the screaming and crying as we all hurtled into the ground shortly after. As a passenger I am glad the bar for entry to being a pilot is ridiculous.

    • @ksp1278
      @ksp1278 2 года назад

      Depends what you are looking for in a Sim. In terms of graphics, yes, MSFS 2020 is the best. But it's lacking compared to other sims in other areas. For instance multiple monitor support. Also you need a hefty system to get decent framerates compared to, for example, x plane 11. Also the flight modelling is not done as well as in other sims, although they are improving it gradually.

    First could you just tell me how do you do or what is your camera setting to be able to go around like that 🤔. And finally the quality in 4k .I actually have a pretty good pc 🖥. A 49 " ultra wide screen of samsung for the pc it's also a nice beast I guess Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti
    Intel core is 9900KF CPU
    3.60 Ghz

    Once again thanks for all these videos they're just superbe.

      Next ones will also have this Level of Detail... When the Tech is aviable for Home Computers. Also the next Generation of simulators will use them. In the past it was the other way around.
