Back when this was recorded, vocalists generally sang WITH the band (rather than later, as is often the case today). And the band members and vocalist were separated by screens - or the vocalist stood in a booth in the studio. TOTAL separation was not necessary for stereo - so even if (as here) you filter out the vocal using triphony (mask the "centre") you will sometimes still JUST hear the vocalist, particularly when they sing LOUDLY. But if YOU sing along, you'll COVER them!
It's simply the band's mics picking up his vocal. Frank recorded all his songs with the band at the same time...except for one song..."the saddest thing of all".
How did you get this? I couldn't imagine how you would get a recording of just the band's mic so are you sort of taking out sinatra's voice or did you actually get the band's mic?

He took out the voice, you can still hear it.
"Pack a small bag"
If this is "original backing track", how come there's echo/reverb tail of frank's vocal in there?
it's the band microphone picking up Frank's voice.

Pack a small bag.
