Now we know, 400 bases left for Adenine and Thymine (1000- (G+C) 600). A:T is always 1:1 so 200:200 will be the ratio of Adenine and Thymine out of 1000 after Guanine and Cytosine have been removed. We have to find the sum of total Purine bases i.e. Adenine and Guanine, so answer will be 500 because 300G+200A.
