- This year my trip to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival was a little different. Unbeknownst to me, my journey to the kingdom of Wisconsin would turn into an epic quest for wool. Join my fibery adventure as I seek the elusive magical fleece of future projects, hang out at the Fibershed Heartland booth, get into a bidding war over a prized fleece, watch the fleece-to-shawl tournament, visit with some rare Soay sheep, enjoy heartwarming moments with the mamma sheep as they bond with their newborn lambs, meet some vendors, try out a Deadalous e-spinner, find a fantastic buffet of colorful locks and more! Featuring my trusty companion, Mark!

The spider must have been The grandmother spider (aka The spider woman) from native american folklore. She is a kind and wise woman who uses her power of spinning and weaving to create and protect life. She can also turn into a spider (and sometimes... eats misbehaving children 😬) Its said that if she attaches her silk to a weaver they have earned her proctection and some of her wisdom.
Yasssssssssssss queeeen. These adventure videos are my absolute favorite. I wish there was a fiber festival near me! 😭😭 So excited to see what you make with your goodies!

SO creative! Loved this. Reminded me a little of the older Emma movie’s narrator. So in the end… the wishes, the faith and the predictions of the small band of Quester, Dark Knight and weaving spider who witnessed the festival were fully answered in the perfect happiness of the epic quest.
couldn't finish this immediately because I had to do laundry. but I'm back now. finished the video. I have to ask, just how dirty were those fleeces. X3 because spinning from the grease can be a pretty damn dirty job. XD this year the local farm trimmed my fleece. but there's big lumps of something white mixed in. maybe the sheep had dandruff? they were also nice enough to skirt anything unsanitary off. X3 I was all set to compost dung covered wool again loooooooooooool.
The voice over sounds a bit Zoe Wanamaker at times. Very pleasing and whimsical. This was definitely a very creative vlog. Well done.

Thank you for the adventure through the WI Sheep and Wool Festival! I wasn't able to go after all and was so sad I missed it this year. It seemed like there were some new vendors and it makes me look forward to next year even more! I can't wait to see what you do with all the gorgeous goodies you acquired on your quest - what fun!

I am normally a lurker, but this video was so cute. Coffee = elixir of improved haste.
Such a fun adventure made even more exciting by the fact that I am washing a mohair fleece purchased at a fiber festival while watching. Love how hard Mark unflinchingly keeps trying to incorporate Batman into the story. Can't wait to see what you do with all the fiber!

When you said that you thought Marc had squished the spider with his knees..."let me see your knees"😂...Then when you said, "I anthropomorphise everything, even my children" I couldn't stop grinning and laughing. I always go to Sheep & Wool on Sundays. The fleeces that were in a judging competition go on sale I buy a different type of fiber every year. This year I got a 4# Border Leicester cross from Meg Kelly. It is wonderful. Sparkling white! Super clean $30. It’s all washed & ready to card. Look for the barn with fleece in the hooked rug building
