I'm from near the Fort Wayne area. just live south of Fort Wayne in Ossian, IN. about 15-20 minutes from I-69. When you started your video, you were one county west of where I live. I live in Wells County.
INDOT needs to put in metal light poles in the middle of I-69 with LED lights like the ones on I-80/94 in northwest Indiana, After all Fort Wayne is the second largest city in Indiana after Indianapolis.
The Fort Wayne District usually has the lowest budget of any INDOT district, even though NE Indiana is a manufacturing hub and has the second largest city in the state.
19:19 Where did you get the idea that US 27 still has a concurrency with I-69 from? It was truncated to I-69 in Fort Wayne when US 127 replaced US 27 north of Lansing in the early 2000s. (and I am unsure what IN 1 is actually doing between I-469 and I-69)
I was using Apple Maps for reference when I was editing this one. It's usually easier to see the concurrencies on there than Google but it appears they have some work to do on accuracy 😁.
So Indiana is taking all the U.S. routes and rerouting them onto interstate loops, taking them out of downtown. I remember when U.S. 33 and 30 ran straight through town.
@@dhumbles5artWell, the roads of the US routes still run through the city of indianapolis, they’re just renamed to streets, like US 52 being renamed Lafayette road and US 40 being renamed washington street.
Terrible highway system. I-469 is too far outside the city to do anything more than serve as a bypass for trucks. No freeway between Fort Wayne and Chicago, or Fort Wayne and Columbus either.
100% correct. Add to that not one real highway/freeway goes anywhere near downtown or inside city proper for that matter. Fort Wayne is too big for that nonsense.
bro US 27 is going through the city. i live near there just shut up. i 69 is very good. and 449 is fine, it goes through many important us highways. so stop being rude to Fort Wayne.
@sulleynofzinger These people are ignorant. 469 was built on the idea of being used as a bypass around the city.. (US 30 - US 24) ..... & Yes, US 27 literally cuts right through the middle of downtown going completely through Ft. Wayne entirety..
Nice drive on I-69 going into Indiana's second largest city.
I know a friend that lives here in Fort Wayne indiana. Great drive here. This stretch of the road is pretty quiet not too much traffic
Fort Wayne is a growing city and with that comes more heavier traffic especially in the afternoons.

My home city! :)
im not to far from Fort Wayne, I live 25 minutes north in Auburn Indiana of of County road 36. close to US 6 exit.

I was there recently and noticed US 27 signs as I drove in the City

Exit 316 is for Indiana 1 AKA Dupont Rd.

Like Indianapolis with I-465
Well minus US 27. The old alignment of US 30 is now IN 930.

Us thirty is famous
I like traveling on US 30 to Fort Wayne!
20:36 me too
7:30 Should be "To US 24 WEST"
No, it's directing traffic that wants to head to Toledo on US 24 East, but INDOT does not sign destination cities on I-469 for whatever reason.
@@povertyspec9651 Well then sign "TO US 24 EAST" for I-469 here.
@@Markkos1992 I'm not responsible for INDOT's terrible signage, LOL
First person to see it
🎉
23:52 Incompetent INDOT can't figure out how to design a two-lane exit ramp with an option lane.
