This video should have an epilepsy warning
I like how it starts out with seriously creepy or weird games and then just goes to Poop Slinger.

It's a lie. Everyone in Russia knows about April Fools, it's a very popular holiday there. In Russia this holiday is also called "Fool's Day", "Laughter Day" or simply "April First". And yes, this holiday is celebrated in exactly the same way as in the USA
Just login to comment to check how many us russians watched this video and this lie about april fools unknown in russia lol.
So thus company pretending to be russians i guess cause no one would say that lie that if he is russian. Is like 3 second check on google
Russians always lie
True
That just makes things weirder.

That game being about Alzheimer's honestly makes it make a lot of sense. No set controls, constantly changing environments, no idea what you're doing or where you're going. That honestly makes it pretty brilliant imo
Yeah this is the first time I heard that Alzheimer's was the inspiration for it and it makes a lot more sense now. I feel like it captures both those experiencing it, and those going through it with a loved one, very well.
@@Red-Tower It's like a more intense version of That Dragon Cancer which was about parents dealing with their child's cancer diagnosis from the kid's perspective.
Except he said it was about all timers not Alzheimer’s
@@Red-Tower It's like the dementia Doom mod.
@@allnightfright619 oh you think you're so funny, huh
Number 3 looks like just some devs accidentally published their test projects to the store instead of keeping them in limited access environment.
Yeah, those look like test programs.
Yup. I posted in another comment - it's literally called "Direct3D game sample" from the Windows Universal Samples kit. Open source + guided tutorial on creating it.
What confuses me is how those games manage to make it into game pass, you'd expect there would be someone checking the games before putting them on the service
I remember seeing them on gamepass last fall but I didn't really thought about it and ignored them, now I feel bad that I didn't download them
Doesn't it cost money to publish games to gamepass tho? Feels like a Gilson B Pontes situation where an insider granted access to an eccentric billionaire who thinks making games is easy but they gave up at some point.
Cant believe Poop Slinger is one of the mysterious video games of all time
Because of game getting exclusive and rare?
@@sitosamin Because no one knows who the developer is or why it was made.
@nichoudha prolly made as a joke or as a fetish thing, at least that’s what I’m assuming, idk, and I don’t want to know

I'll sell you an even more mysterious game for $40,000.
The question to Wheeliam about the Stranger is a reference to "The Mask" of the King In Yellow. At the start of the short story of "The Mask", they ask the Stranger to lay aside his mask, and he says exactly what Wheeliam says.
Ask Wheeliam who the Emperor is and who the King In Yellow is
Damn beat me to it, good spot though considering it didn't fully finish the reference!

The value of things secondhand only depends on how much someone is willing to buy it for. Poop slinger is only worth 20,000 if someone actually buys it for that much. Guy could be asking for 20,000 forever if it isn't worth that much.
Very good point
The fact that it’s rare and it’s 20k is hilarious to me
So all he has to do is buy it from himself for 20k like they all do
@@ootdega While that is pretty illegal, plenty of people do that. The market for retro video games has completely ballooned from a few people who own auction houses and grading companies just trading copies of mario back and forth between each other.
Oh hey, I've played Who's Lila to completion! Epic to see it in a video!
Wheeliam is a real sweetie. I've been theorizing about stuff in this game on-and-off in my free time. It very much does fit on a list like this.

@@Zulf85 Definitely do, it's well worth it!
@@SynapticAbyss how do you play it ?

Let's spread Lila everywhere my friend...
That Kiss Or Kill video where that developer is cutting into his stomach and putting a GameBoy game into his stomach, seems like a reference to Videodrome. It's a David Cronenberg film from 1983. The practical effects are done really well and they're pretty disturbing. It has a lot of body horror. The film is difficult to understand and it leaves a lot to interpretation, but I'd highly recommend it. Great video as always. The mysterious video games videos are one of my favorites. They're always just so interesting.
So the GPS-MDS-test app was actually a crucial component in early xbox modification. It allowed for direct system file access before Microsoft patched the exploit out. There are several other apps like it that are now defunct as well
God, I love mysterious games like these. There's just something about how obscure they are, exploring all that weirdness and trying to find any clues or secrets to figure out more is so thrilling. My favorites are the weird freeware games hosted on their own indepent websites. Freegames-online, Cicada Marionette, Revenge of the Sunfish - I'm surprised there aren't more videos on them, they're so fascinating. I would love to see you talk about one of them, Odd. If you have the time that is. In any case, I hope you have a good day, your videos are always so high quality and entertaining and I hope you keep up the awesome work! :D
Revenge of the sunfish is iconic and still freaky lol
Revenge of the sunfish made me the person I am today

@@dollenrm honestly a lot of these feel like attempts at viral marketing.... well, not the disease one... that one just feels unfinished.
Oddheader always tells the appropriate subcategory for every game. I can't believe Poop Slinger's category is "actual game" though lmao
I hope that if this gets more people to play Strawberry Cubes, something new will be discovered. I played it and collected all the purple icons, but nothing happened. I hope there is more to it.
game looks like stink
you missed one
Absolute nothing burger responses lol
If I had a bit more free time to waste I would like trying to play it and find new stuff, but frankly it seems like VERY heavy collaborative work among people who have played would be the only way to fully figure out any remaining secrets.
When I got into the infamous Evil Farming Game rabbit hole, I was presented with a long, comprehensive and detailed document detailing the entire team's years-long research, sources, possible leads, dead-ends, etc.
Yeah, that game ended up not even being real, but I still appreciated how much easier research became thanks to that document. For this real game, that we have files for and can constantly play to find new stuff, I feel like figuring out anything it's hiding would be considerably easier too.
Then again, given the game seems to be based on that one whole message about alzheimer's and stuff, it may be better to leave any potential misteries unsolved. Y'know, 'cause maybe we're not meant to understand it in order to get the concept.
It feels like Yume Nikki so doubt anyone would bother for more than 3 part playthrough
The Poop Slinger tale has to be one of the wildest stories ever, the hardest part is imaging who in their right mind would buy a physical copy of that game...
Who knows why they did it or how they even found out, but those ~80 are rich now so joke's on us!
@@Fuzunga Someone has to be willing to pay that much for the physical copies to be worth anything. Just because something is rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

Setting the creepy part aside, the cheery music background in Gaijin Charenji is most likely to be Marble Soda by Shawn Wasabi. You can actually hear the snippet played by oddheader at the 2:13 mark of the original song
Just want to share this stuff coz I think it's cool and you guys should definitely check out Shawn Wasabi especially if you like cute edm songs
I love that game. The music is amazing. Definitely going to check out Shawn Wasabi now.
oH MY GOD I LOVE STRAWBERRY CUBES-!! i remember falling in LOVE with the game when i saw SomeOrdinaryGamers play it, and when i finally found a working download link, i played it for MONTHS, wrote down every rule (yeah theres rules to the abilities), and just getting LOST for hours at a time. fun fact, though! if u peek into the files of the game, there IS a map already in there, along witha QR code embedded in said map!
jkwgnew so cool to see the game being talked about, i really should play it again
I dunno why but watching this video it kinda reminds me of VVVVVV, especially the room with the seeds (reminiscent of the room in VVVVVV where you collect the trinkets)
GOD Who's Lila is such a genuinely amazing game. Its not a game made for just like being a strange and unknowable game, not that theres anything actually wrong with games like that, it has a wonderful story and themes.
Im not kidding when I say that it changed me as a person. It changed how I view and conceptualize the concept of self. Its so interesting, a great game that weaves an intriguing story
i felt the same way after playing it im surprised it took me this long to find it.
I started watching oddheader a few years ago, and your most recent videos still fit the same style as your older ones. I love how you’ve kept to making the same content.
Indeed, although in his most recent videos feels more like he cares more about making jokes than talking about the actual game
The Poop Slinger story certainly sounds like a massive "joke" conducted by the dev.
Absolutely agree. I think it's a very "meta" poking at topics like the shift to digital only/limited physical releases, the value of video games, etc.
the absolute 180 on the vibe from talking about strawberry cubes and its supposed ties to alzheimers...
to *poop slinger* yea... *poop slinger*
Hold up, Are the graphics for Strawberry Cubes literally constructed completely out of Cellular Automata? That's really cool!!!
3:48 I'm shocked, he didn't mention how Wheeliam has an ODD HEAD, here.
The Game Pass mysteries are 100% publishers/developers accidentally listing things they shouldn't have and either them or MS unlisting them. No idea why the right-stick would control the download progress though!
I can't believe I hadn't heard of Who's Lila until now?? It looks like a surrealist Obra-Dinn, I wanna try it now!

@@БогданКрименюк Oh good to know!! He has playthroughs of everything!
I'm terrified of it. The art style gives me the heebie jeebies!

its my new favorite game now, just finished all of the endings and got all the achievements. probably one of the most underrated games of all time
the "laser ass chickens" could be a reference to the Laser Pigeons Tesla claimed to have encountered in his declining years
This is one of the advantages of storytelling in video games. You can have the player really engages in investigating.
My favorite part is the sentient talking evil forklift in Germs. Good times
7:05 This "GERMS" is not a bad game. I've never completed it myself but I've seen whole playthrough so I know about basic storyline. Basically it's about a classic body snatcher story. The Narrative is nonlinear and...not very good. Control is nightmarish, the game doesn't tell you what to do and driving is too slow. But this game has unique charm. For example, in most of video game if you're killed by enemy, your story is over. But in this game, when you're killed by certain enemy you become "one of them" and story goes on. I think some design feature of this game is still fresh today.
The developer of Poop Slinger is, most likely, not actually from Russia, because April Fools is a well-known holiday there and the sales page for the game uses a Google Translate'd Russian sentence which lacks a capital letter (a common mistake of those who blindly use Google Translate to translate something into Russian) and the sentence itself is clunky with the word that means "support" in Russian being used as a substitute for the English word "maintain", which doesn't make sense in context.
I haven't even watched yet but already know this is a gem and one of the best youtube channels of all time.
Thank you for your solid work on finding odd pieces of life ;)

13:00 “all timers” lol
i remember watching vinny play Strawberry Cubes, and it was disturbing. quiet, and jarring. thank you for covering it
Where do you find this seemingly endless supply of mind-blowing content I have never heard even a squeak about anywhere?!
14:36 As a Russian, I can say that whoever wrote "хранить и поддерживать вашу информацию" definitely isn't Russian, because to me it looks like Google translated text. More specifically "поддерживать вашу информацию", which roughly translates to "support your information", which doesn't make sense. Correct form would be "хранить и обрабатывать вашу информацию"
The game pass stuff is interesting - sounds like they use the same pipelines to distribute a lot of testing stuff
Station exe reminds me a bit of this game I remember playing in a high school web design class, not the same but the graphics just feel a little familiar. This game which I don’t remember the name of, you jump around collecting a item, in a time limit, the more items you got the more fractured the ground got so you could reach higher, and fall through the floor too, dodging enemies I believe. If you fell or ram out of time or died, the world would fade and the statement “So says the preacher man” shows up in text, before you start again.
"Alltimers Disease"
Always a good day when Oddheader uploads
Who’s Lila? fascinated me when it first released. I had no idea it went so deep. I figured it was just a short gimmick game.
I think I was close to collecting all icons in Strawberry Cubes years ago, I think back in 2015 or 2016. My memory is a little fuzzy. I know there was a room that would tell you how many icons you had left by displaying them. I was picking them all up by clipping through the walls using the chickens to push me through (or maybe it was the clones) Anyways, I think I moved and didn't have access to the computer I used to play it on and never got to progress any further when I was missing like one icon.
1:29 that actually scared me
3:56 I'm probably not the first to point this out, but the answer you get from asking who's the stranger is a quote from the king in yellow
Camilla: You, sir, should unmask.
Stranger: Indeed?
Cassilda: Indeed it’s time. We all have laid aside disguise but you.
Stranger: I wear no mask.
Camilla: (Terrified, aside to Cassilda.) No mask? No mask!
-- The King in Yellow, Act I, Scene 2.
that poop slinger segment could be a whole video its actually really interesting lol

NAH I JUST WATCHED RE:ZERO AND LEMME TELL YOU THE GIRL ON THE LEFT IS FROM AN ANIME THAT FITS PERFECTLY IN THIS CRAZY SHIT
On the subject of mysterious games: the game Lostboy .exe, a lost game famous for being indirectly responsible of a data leak on 4chan users, has very recently been found by french RUclipsr Feldup, who also found and interviewed the creator.
5:47 the message seems to state, man is a wolf to man, with either a dative of possession or purpose
I've actually played Strawberry Cubes before. If you were to look at the map of the game there's a QR code that, when scanned, would take you to an image titled "secret" that was of a woman spinning yarn on a spinning wheel. I believe that the dev no longer owns the domain that the image was hosted on and going there now would lead to something completely unrelated. Also, about the purple icons, I tried collecting those to "beat" the game, but I think there's one that I never found, even though I explored quite thoroughly.
Holy shit when OddHeader talked about the station.exe game I was just starting to think it was one of those fake-out games where you never get the jumpscare you expect and then WHAT THE F*** IS THAT THING
Thanks for breaking my heart.
A little detail, The pile of naked bodies on the cover of Germs for the ps1, is one of the bosses in the hospital level, and that pile of bodies is that thing's head.
oh I am absolutely in love with the visuals of Strawberry Cubes
Station.exe sounds like someone trying to remake doom in an openGL tutorial class; I made something similar at university with baddie snowmen and a teapot you hop into to go to the next level. (Strange choices sometimes make more sense when you're making something, than enjoying it.)
Some moron who created that game lied ths is founded in cd. Hype worked
upload it somewhere now i wanna play it
2:23 well...that's un4chanate
Bruh
i love how he describes poop slinger as "an actual game"
Strawberry Cube's graphics remind me of the "life-forms" in a sandbox game called "Powder Toy".
It's John Conway's Game of Life. So the exact same thing that's in powder toy.
3:52 that's actually such a cool idea I fucking love that.
The Germs game looks like something that would be on one of those game jam collections that are in the style of PS1 games
Except its a legitimate Ps1 game :D
Having Played Germs I Can Tell You It's So Confusing Not Even The Controls Make Sense As You Move Up & Down With X & Circle But Left & Right With L1 & R1
You Never Even Have To Move Left & Right When Walking As You Can Just Move The Camera & You'll Go In That Direction Just Fine
11:05 this game seems to be using the game of life blocks for its environment, which is really cool, but might be the reason of crashes cause they appear and dissapear every frame
Hello there, thank you for uploading such a fun video pointing out some of the bigger mysteries in gaming. They are interesting to hear about and see what is out there. As this medium of entertainment is quite large, and things do fall through the cracks quite often. Such as the game that is based off the diamond mine.
With that said, I would like to shed some light on the Microsoft Gamepass mystery.
While I cannot confirm these games that were shown. They do remind me a bit of the internal test games that would be built for the service. When I worked with them a few years back, on a now incorporated service to Gamepass, there were similar games that we used to test certain benchmarks. They were never anything impressive. Mostly just tools to make sure stuff was working right on the dev side of things. Like the one where you can adjust the loading bar with the thumb stick.
As for how it ended up on prod (production) Gamepass. My guess is that someone accidentally pushed/submitted a build of game/app, to the wrong branch of version control.
This is usually an oversight on the dev side of things, and is usually caught not long after it happens. Both Microsoft and Xbox really do there best to keep an eye out when stuff like this happens. Also, speaking to my super limited knowledge of how these "games "are constructed. There usually isn't anything relating back to internal stuff. No unannouced or secret projects. They really are just tools that are used by the devs to try and make your experience better.
Finally, please realize this isn't a Microsoft/Xbox specific thing. It happens across all of tech and is really just human error. So please don't use this comment as an excuse to call out devs for being "lazy" or to reinforce why one group is better than the other.
If my time in the game/tech industry has taught me anything, it's that devs aren't "lazy" and "Brand loyalty" doesn't mean anything. As we did actually have a few PS4's in our Xbox office to play games we liked. Likewise, it wasn't uncommon to see Microsoft devs working on Macbooks.
Devs in the Games/Tech industry just wanna make cool things for other people. So please, please don't give them grief for these smaller slip-ups.
Thank you,
from a former Xbox QA worker🙂
Im sure this is exactly what it is. I have not worked with game pass but a lot of companies will have a developer or testing only part of their platform or even an entire different server for testing. They are not meant for the public view and are just there so that developers can make sure things are working.
For somehting similar, the civ 6 mod tutorial may well have started as one of these test features and someone decided to turn it into content.
Nothing more pathetic than desperately simping for a former employer lmfao

The Xbox Game Pass stuff is clearly what it states to be: Test programs, most likely to test and debug the downloading and game rental processes. Someone just pushed them to the retail storefront accidentally.
HAH! I was just playing Gaijin Charenji 1: Kiss or Kill last night. That game is awesomely hilarious!
You also forgot to mention that one of the bosses is an actual Gameboy.
5:10 oddheader at the beginning of every single video
I can't get over how you pronounced Alzheimers.
I hope you never change your format. Cheesy jokes, purple overlay, perfect deadpan humor. Well done sir well done!
Who's Lila has been in my wishlist for a while now, it looks really interesting and creepy!
The Gamepass games are most likely the fact that Microsoft has programs where any registered user within the program can upload software that may run on Xbox consoles. Emulators and other similar software are usually taken down quickly.
I actually have that test game on my Xbox right now. it's gone through lots of changes over the years, like kinda updates. it's barely a megabyte and it's weird.
additionally. it used to let you past the loading screen but recently I can't get past the load
I do find it really interesting how the environment of Strawberry Cubes seems to be generated using John Conway's Game of Life. It's one of the reasons why the levels are so chaotic, and why they seem to be slightly different each time you load them in.
Who's Lila is such a fantastic game man
One of wheeliam's answers seems to have been a reference to the King in yellow
It’s funny bc “William” is my legal name and I’m in a wheelchair.

Interesting The King in Yellow reference at 3:57
Not sure if that's a random reference or a connection.
It’s for sure a connection, being made between William and The Stranger I believe
Lower at the tier list: Station.exe, a game found on a file on a mysterious, probably unique disc with weird and cryptic content.
At the top of the list: poop slinger, an april's fool release that sold nothing.

Always a party when Oddheader posts~
10:48 Wait, so did that game actually take up 25GB or is this just an unrelated clip?
Station.exe is some OG Creepypasta stuff!
Poop Slinger was a straight up scam. They made ultra limited physical versions, then the publisher turned around and sold them later at highly inflated costs. Total scumbag move.
I almost never get jump scared, but the game in the beginning just did.

Honestly, this seems like a good list of games to gift your Steam friends to play without any further explanation.
