I wanted to know so badly why they stop Tetris Battle. Now I play "Tetris 99" on Nintendo switch. I'm curious if these games has any connection to each other because they're kinda similar.
I miss this game. It was so popular when I was in 6th grade, a lot of people (myself included) loved challenging strangers and friends and climbing the ranks.
This is absolutely insane, I understand almost nothing, but it's so cool to watch when players with insane skill fight against each other, it just makes you see what one can do with passion and dedication, awesome
Back in the day when i was a 12 years old ive reached god of tetris i play in computer cafe with alot of people behind my back watching me and so shock on how i play the game it feels really good because i made so many people inspire on me and started to play game and tryna be like me this really brings back memories.. EDIT: my english is really bad so please try to understand atleast..

only problem is no real tetris happened on either side very often at all, it's all lines. It is pretty impressive tho how fast they can build up the left to make those huge line combos one after the other though.

@@mr_daz Look up the site tetr.io!! It's very similar to tetris battle/friends. There is an online 1v1 system called Tetra League, but there are also different rooms in "Room listing", where people host ffa lobbies or 1v1 lobbies. It's definitely worth checking out, the music is great too

What I find incredibly disappointing is that this turns into "first to 5 KOs" rather than running all the way out to the 2min mark most of the time. I mean, honestly, sometimes you just want to see 13+ KOs in a game without resorting to 6-player.
Still missin this game. They didn't do a t spin in that 4 wide. Actually u can do a t spin in 4 wide. U just need to hold the down arrow key then hold right/left arrow key then click the top arrow key so that u can make a mini t-spin.

I still remember playing this on Facebook! I peaked 100 i believe then they added higher ranks so i played again up to 101 but ended up playing other games like dota, dragon city and elsword instead. And i thought i was good, i only use 2 lines cause I've been using that since the beginning. I kept up with other players with speed, accuracy and hold usage.
I am a little bit sad to hear this game is not around anymore. I played it so much after discovering it and I reached god of tetris after many hours of failing and falling. All the way until I had reached to top where I managed to stay and most opponents destroyed until I was bored. I just didn't found enemys of my skill level while I played. But I remembered how much joy and feeling of achieving I had when I reached to top. To be clear, I wasn't probably the best. Possibly not even in the top 100 or top 500 in the world. And I lost even at god of tetris. But those where so few and from the locks of it I was only matched against fresh god of tetris. Most likely people who wheren't really on the skill level you should have at that rank, me probably included. But I am still proud of reaching the top and its the biggest achievment I reached in competetive gaming so far. And I am so sad this game is no longer and I couldn't find a sutable replacement after wanting to play it again.
Yes you can do a and s spins if you own a switch or a computer you can go online and practice with cpus but it’s basically like the t spin but with a z or s tetrimino

You have to use the opposite spin to do the Z spin, try it out in practice mode! (clockwise and counter clockwise rotation, many modern fanbased tetris games has 180 spin too)

Wow! You guys are fast! I've learned a couple of things from this video, such as how to better deal with misdrops (build a little above so you can later clean with a potential combo). Back when I played casually, my PB was 259 lines sent with 4-wide and ~170 with ZT-stacking. Wish I knew people like you when I still played Tetris Battle. Would have been a lot of fun to polish some techs and eke out more performance. btw, could you recommend a modern Tetris game, but without the ads, with clean input (so that play is only limited by their own speed), preferrably with a high KO limit in battle mode like Tetris Battle?
