So, Pictomancer was introduced like 25ish years ago in FF6, back then it was just a small girl named Relm that could only paint a portrait specifically of a monster you were fighting to use a form of "blue magic", but with FFXIV, Pictomancer paint their own original arts. So the cast bar is the time to paint and any creatures that come from it are not summons, just paintings (:
@@VanillaBean117 Lol of course you do :P and no, Blue Mage is a limited job, if they're adding Beastmaster then I totally missed that and that probably also is taking part from the FF6 Beastmaster that could "become" monsters that you fight using most or all their moves but you can't control it thereafter, making it yet another version of a Blue Mage
@@VanillaBean117 The FF XIV version is permanently copying monsters it looks like. Seems they took the theme of magic through art and just ran with that.
@@VanillaBean117 I don't know how they'd do the collection aspect if pictomancer was limited, or how they'd do beastmaster justice if it wasn't. Beastmaster as a limited job lets you collect monsters from around the world to really give the job the right vibe. Pictomancer wouldn't have any collection system at all if it was made as a closer recreation of the original like with other limited jobs, you would just make clones of whatever you're fighting at the time. Sounds cool, but also sounds super lacking in progression.
If they put critical engagements in each map, and something on that map lets u know that one has spawned..... then i think that would instantly help the openworld.... Either that or put something super tough like odin wondering about on each map.
26:14 “why couldn’t beast master be the new class” Because Maaaaggiiiicccc. At most Beastmaster would be a Phys Ranged or Melee, I don’t really see it being classified as a Magic DPS.
so solution 9 is located on the northen part of the continent while most everything else is the southern half with tulolyol being the bridge that connects the two halves of the continent
Mhmm, to anyone asking how we know: if you look at the new version of the World Map that they showed off at Fan Fest, you can see a noticeable very *purple* dome looking thing in the North-Western part of North Tural
were getting viper, pictomancer, and beast master as the limited job class coming later in the expansion. im certainly excited. i hope picto replaces my caster itch that i lost with the rework of summoner.
@@TheCommentaification If you pay attention around the Rising Stones as you go through the story past when you recover Thancred, you can see it hanging around.
I played the majority of the game from jan-march/April (focusing on msq and raids with stories) and I went from ninja to reaper. I'm considering changing my class for the new world for rp reasons and I might change my CC back into an au'ra after changing it last minute.
Same! Honestly, being able to make a Hrothgar was what finally sold me on FF14. I plan to do a playthrough with the updated graphics on a female Hrothgar alt. :)
This is my own personal take on this. Of all the places SE has included so far in FF14, there hasn't been an allusion to FFX.That "cyberpunk"-ish zone gives me Zanarkand vibes. I'm crossing my fingers to when the devs take us there. Even in FFX, we only got to see a brief backdrop to Zanarkand when introduced to Tidus.

Heeeey. I know this profile pic. lol
This is even more baffling to me then, why this isn't a limited job and Beastmaster is. But it is what it is. xD

@@nevadakid1000 They are adding Beastmaster as the next limited job, but it'll be patch content.

Viper is based off of Zidane from ff9 he duel wielded and fused his two swords into a double edged blade

Yes that is the same squirrel from that cutscene in Heavensward, he later keeps it as a pet.
Nutkin.
Wait is this true? If so source?

Furry here:
Excited about the expansion :3c

I mean technically Final Fantasy IS the first game to use painter as a class...right? Pictomancer was introduced in FF6 (tho not an MMO thats true)
I like that the fem/male hroth are similar but different. The fem/male char in GW2 were too similar for my liking
At least the female Hrothgar run looks good. I’m still praying they fix male Au Ra run….

considering viper is your zidane job, the 9 references are gonna be strong, like the 4 references in EW
