- This video or animation explains the major rivers of India. You do not have to be a geography expert to clear UPSC Civil Services Examination. What you need is an informed opinion about these geographic issues to crack the Civil Services Prelims as well as Mains examination. As an IAS officer, you are going to be a generalist and not a specialist.
I am an American citizen living in Australia with my two sons. I used this video during our history lesson of Ancient India. Thank you for your work and wonderful presentation.

The Brahmaputra river (also called as "Burlung-Buthur" by the Bodo people of Assam), called Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan language, originates on the Angsi Glacier located on the northern side of the Himalayas in Burang County of Tibet and not Chema-Yungdung glacier, which was previously identified by geographer Swami Pranavananda in the 1930s.
-According to wikipedia....please do mend it as it is a major flaw

Yamuna, Chambal, Betwa and Son are not the left bank tributaries but the right bank tributaries of the Ganges. Please clear your concept about how to define the left and right bank tributaries of a river.
ZR
Hi Gaurav, let me help you to understand the concept of left bank and right bank. Its quite simple, just point out the direction of the river flow, for eg., if the river is flowing from west to east, the entire northern part would become left bank and the southern side would be its right bank. Hope this helps.
Great Explanation Vinod.Thanks Dear.
@@vinodmadiwalar7542 still in video there are certainly mistakes in my opinion. Yamuna is being described as left bank tributary of Ganga. That doesn't fit into equation.
@@tintintuntun2: I acknowledge the mistakes Nitin. Thanks for letting us know. Sorry to say that, I am not part of the team currently and we will not be able to come with rectified videos.
Which software do you use to animate like this? Please reply very soon.

Very Nice video. Thanks for this valuable video......
You are getting bit confused between left bank and right bank tributaries. Yamuna is right bank tributary of Ganges.
river kaveri originates from talakaveri kodagu in karnataka not from bhramagiri range.
Brahmagiri range is in nasik district of maharashtra and is the source of river godavari.

Easy explanation.. But still need to modify..
According to latest data , origin of Brahmaputra river is Angsi glacier instead of yungdung.
Overall I liked this video but still a request please include some minor rivers too like mandvi , sharawati.. Etc. So that we can get all data at a single platform
