Glad to see someone making this comparison on RUclips because they really are similar. But, guess what? Experimentum Crucis by ELDO also smells slightly similar to these two and guess who the perfumer is? It's also Quentin Bisch. 😅 Thanks for sharing!
I just got the Essential Parfums sampler and absolutely love Bois Imperial. It’s strong enough to make a statement, but subtle enough that I feel comfortable wearing it around my classmates/coworkers. It makes me feel like I’m walking around a forest on warm spring day. Also if it’s not too much to ask: where did you get that shirt?? I love the pattern!
happy to hear your thoughts on that ! i have not sampled that on yet !!! i love most of the ones from EP... ones i want to add are the Musc and Nice Bergamot..
I tested tam as well, but Musc wasn't my thing, I simply don't see myslef gravitating towards clean-musky scents in general. Bargamot I need to revist because I don't remember the smell tbh. My second favourite from the line was Divin Vanille which smells a bit like Herod from Parfums de Marly.
I like bois imperial more. Is more fresh clean wodsy peppery while ganymede more leathery sweet. The opening on ganymede is stunning, like frutty leathery gourmondy, classy modern elegant sexy but the dry down on bois imperial is sexy addictive, it gets smoother and a little powdery. My ladies friends says that bois imperial is "aphrodisiacy" on drydown. The performance on skin of ganymede is way superiors though even if the bois imperial last all day too. Lest say bois imperial is more "approacable" to people around me whole ganymede is more unique and with a bit of edge.
I keep seeing this comparison everywhere. I’ve just recently gotten both fragrances and sure there are similarities but they’re quite different to me. I heavily prefer Ganymede as of right now. Bois imperial I get pepper and basil and that’s it 🤷🏾♂️
Could you compare Ganymede and Amouage Interlude Woman? It may sound odd but I was really surprised how close they seem to me. Maybe it is the immortelle note that brings them close but I think there may by something more that gives the overall impression of similarity between them.
I am really suprised, I don't see any similarities between those two, so I would totally fail at comparing them. There is a separate review of Interlude Woman on my channel, it's one of my beloved and favourite perfumes. But thinking about it, there is this leatehry ruberiness in Interlude, that is also present in Genamede, as well as kiwi tartness of Interlude vs. madarine in Genamede.the biggest difference to me is that Genamede is extremely spacious and airy while Interlude is very rich and dense. They definitely have some common denominators, but they are in separate boxes for me presonally.
@@pixieandthenotes Its pretty common in my experience. Alot of perfumers replicate (to varying extents) their work across different price points. I believe the actual budget doesn’t always correspond to the niche marketing price 😅. But if both perfumes are completely identical, I guess that can be akward 😆
Bois Imperai might be for those days when Ganymede seems a bit too much. I would like to know what you think since you know Ganymede really well. It's an exceptional scent. Thank you ☺
Iga your video is amazing! I'm a big fan of this brand and Bois Imprerial is one of my favorites. I wait impatiently for your next impressions! Big hug
I'm yet to try bois imperial but now i'm curious, because I really can't stand the violet leave accord in ganymede but I like the rest of the fragrance
Very interesting! I have never tried Ganymede, but I love B683 from Marc Antoine Barrois, and I have heard that Ganymede is in the same realm. So, I think I must find myself a sample of Bois Imperial.
Ganymde is B683 but without such prominent leather, but they are very simlilar to my nose, yes. They are like a gradation of potency, B683 being on top, followed by Ganymede and then Bois Imperial.
@@pixieandthenotes so, I finally got my nose on Bois Imperial. I tested it on paper first, and was blown away, it was really my cup of tea. But on skin, it was a different story. A sharp, almost piercing sour metallic note was all I could get. I almost could not recognize it from the paper and had to scrub it off. it was the same with Mon Vetiver. On paper it was lovely, I could have ordered a bottle immidiately, on my skin it was a disaster. I will need to try some more from the brand to see if the others are the same. Well well, one can not get along with everything!
My decant of Bois Imperial arrived and I tested it out and I wanted to get back to you on it. The scent is good and I'm not going to lie, it did not WOW me. To me it smelled like a fine or luxurious soap you would find at a 4 or 5 star hotel. I also found it to be linear, it didn't change from opening to dry down for me any way. Don't get me wrong, it's nice but it just may not be for me. Take care!
Thanzx for your review ! I have now tried both ,& I prefer Bois Imperial. Openings,I think as you said, both exciting, but different. Into the dry down, pretty identical. But as it finishes , I prefer the end result of the dry down for BI much better. It might be the Vetiver....
I am really debating gettin a travel spray of this, because although I have a decant of Genamede I always think twice before commiting to it. Bois Imperial is more wearer friendly, isn't it?
