In today's video, we send link into the desert with NOTHING and give ourselves 5 hours to prepare for Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This is a run where we drop EVERYTHING after leaving the Sky Islands and enter the desert with nothing but the clothes on Link's back. The Gerudo Region is a brutal, punishing place to start the game.
Once we enter the Gerudo Region, we have five hours to gather resources for a singular attempt at Hyrule Castle and Ganon himself. What should we prioritize? Weapons? Meals? Armor? Heart Containers?
Once the 5 hours are up, we must leave Gerudo and attempt to defeat Ganon on a single life. Can it be done?

57:19 I’m wondering if maybe Nintendo changed how the fairies work. You may have noticed that Zonai Construct respawns aren’t tied to blood moons. From a lore perspective, this makes sense because they aren’t servants of Ganondorf. This does make it more challenging to keep track of them in gameplay, and the same rule may now apply to fairies and other resources.
When you’re smacking the lynel from his back, your weapon takes no durability loss, so you could use a weapon that gets the badly damaged notice, and get twice hit points, unlimited while on his back.
Next Up for Region Lock Speedrun: The Sky Islands. with a few Caveats.
1: You can go anywhere BUT you can only acquire resources from the sky islands.
2: The other two areas (Surface and Caverns) Are not a place you can gather resources.
3: Relay Race: Every 30 minutes you pass the controller to the other person (either Ted or Peter)
3B: While the other person is in control, they must rely on their own knowledge of the game.
4: You only have a certain amount of time per sky island to gather resources.
5: Peter gets to fight ganon and Ted gets the easy part >=3

OMG I already did this and it was a BLAST! I am so greatful for radiant shields.
Obviously my rules were a little different:
- Only gerudo clothes, weapons, shields, and bows.
- Only gerudo towers (highland and canyon)
- As much time as I want, but I have to defeat all of the temples
- All sages except riju stay dismissed

Watching the run, my first thought upon hearing the composition of the run was "5 hours seems like it's going to be too short." I think having an extra hour or two to get shrines for an additional ❤ or two would've made a huge difference. After completing a 7 hour run, then I think a 5 hour run would've been more productive and likely doable. Stepping stones, y'know? Rome wasn't built in a day and all that 😊
Anywho, that's my thought on these regional runs. Try a run with 7 hours and a few shrines (and time to get better armor maybe) first, then do a shorter, more challenging, 5 hour run second

So, if you try this challenge again, something to keep in mind… don’t dive into the stone wall and waste a fairy on your way to fight the army.
In all seriousness though, I think it would be fair if you were allowed to cash in any Korok seeds you get in these runs before you go to fight Gannon, that may seem against the rules but I think it’s fair as long as all the seeds came from the right region.

You guys asked at one point if dragon parts still extend elixir or meal buff time. They do. Horns still give 30 minutes.
And, puffshrooms and stuff like that respawn on their own schedule separate from monsters. Im actually not sure if this applies to fairies, but it most likely does.
They are called the Gerudo Highlands, so I think that would count as Gerudo region.

This was great. This was definitely one of my favorite runs you guys have done, mostly because it was funny watching such a difficult challenge and thinking, “I could never do this but I think it’s funny that they’re struggling.”
There are fairies in the Gerudo sky islands
First thing to do, go to the depths starting at the Kara Kara mine and get the gerudo weapons that double the hp of the thing you fuse to it!!!

In the next run you could set a goal to complete 5 side quest in the region. I think it would be fun.

Pro tip for Seized Construct: fuse a spear or Lizalfos tail to a one-handed sword. Spin attacks with long reach are your best friend.

Hey! This is a great challenge, you should try this with other regions as well! Also, I got a question: What if you spent the night at a campfire on one of the DRAGONS? (if that’s even possible)
What if you shield surf with a rocket shield through the lost woods (or otherwise propel yourself at high speed)? Do you still get teleported, or can you actually cheese the lost woods like that?
Good video! 😂 You can turn the mirror with only 1 stick attached btw, you don't need all four.
Also, I managed to get the queen gibdo to start the 2. Phase (flying) outside the temple, the first time I played the game. Not sure if it's a bug but in case it can be triggered somehow and can be defeated outside (I died on the second phase so I'm not sure if it's possible) then you would have a lot more time to prepare. (Somehow the cutscene just not happened gibdos started falling from the 2 shrooms).

Hey Basment, huge fan of your channel if youre looking for challenge runs I had a few small pitches (each with a semi-cool title to give them)
TOTK AVATAR (Can you beat the game using only elemental)
TOTK rise of Engineers (Can you beat totk using only zonai creations)
Totk High Mage( can you beat totk using only the magic staff varian weapons)
Totk True to Nature( can you beat totk using only the wooden weapons)
Totk Sheikah revival (Theres a new mod in town that addded Ancient gear, and another mod that makes Ancient arrows unbreakable when fused to weapons)
Best and worst moment in this run was in the Queen gibdo fight you prioritized time and not resources because there were so many gibdos that you lost faries. So you can learn from this by not being pressured by the timer.

Hi Guys! This is a great challenge! Omg the lynel in the depths glitching😂😂😂! And the battles after to break through the armor😅! That was tough! 😢! Now I’m curious which region would be the most successful one to beat Ganondorf? That construct is so tough to take down without Mineru but hey it is possible perhaps? Maybe conquering the depths with getting Mineru first?

You guys should have went for rhe raidiant armour in Gurudo Town. If im not mistaken it can give you a huge advantage when you are using bone weapons especially the Molduga jaw bone fused to weapons. I could be wrong but i also thought there was a Lynl to the east of Gurudo region but still in the region, just on the very edge? I might be wrong or at least pretty close to the location of that Lynl

Wait, how did you get the snow boots? I thought you were supposed to drop everything? but you started the desert with them
Next beat the game with hebra. It’s gonna be really resourceful for food because you can hunt a lot and all the animals in the hebra mountains drop meat. If you want it can also be -1 boss fight at the end.
Garudo whepons can give an op amount of attack like a Gibdo bone on the garudo sword and you can use bullet time with the 35 damage bow and get headshots and it gets easy
If you guys do this again, it might be fun to switch players at an interval. Maybe once an hour.

Depths please do a region lock in the depths, and fight at least 4 bosses in the depths before defeating ganon.
maybe try a run where you can only use decayed items but you can only use the master sword in the final battle
1:22:08 I know this is a bit of a late comment, but for future reference, if you have full health then you can’t get one shotted, you’ll only go down to a quarter heart
I'm doing some testing for the next region and I've noticed that with 4 hearts (full) a blue-maned Lynel can one shot me if I'm wearing a total of 11 units of armor but no defense-up buff. with triple defense-up, the Lynel's hits bring Link down to a quarter-heart.

Maybe you can try and beat the game in central hyrule only! And maybe you can get 5 hours and 30min, and the only thing you get in the beginning is one mushroom and a normal stick, and if you guys don’t complete it then you have to make a short song about the demon king from every game.😅😊 if you do it I wish you good luck 🍀👍 🎉❤
