And now the girls sometimes comment on each others posts, but I remember a year ago it was typically Maddie saying sweet things to them online. I totally agree, it was awkward to watch, you could tell Chloe really didn’t want her mom to make any mean remarks against them as she couldn’t wait to shut her down everytime the Zieglers were mentioned! Even at the start it was quite obvious Chloe walked in an interrupted her deliberately to end the conversation about them. It seems the kids are more mature about the issues than the adults. I think Chloe knows it was both her mom and Melissa that drive the wedge between her and Maddie

At 5:13 it seems like Chloe was afraid that her mom would say something that Melissa wrongfully did to her but then felt relieved when Christi just told a funny story. Everyone in the comments is saying that Chloe is embarrassed but I don't think so because a child wouldn't just blatantly almost walk up to their mom to shut them up just for saying a funny story, I think she was afraid of Christi saying what REALLY happened between her and Melissa but we'll never know.

When this show first started I was so irritated that these women allowed another influential adult to speak to and treat their daughters so badly. And that they allowed themselves to be spoken to and treated poorly. They are complicit. I hope it was worth it and that none of the girls get into trouble. I first watched a few episodes during season 3 or 4 (?), I was disgusted and didn't want to in any way support the show, so I just started watching the performance clips on YT. That's what I wanted to see anyway.

But hadn't most of them been dancing with her studio before they signed? They didn't have multi-year contracts, right? Which meant that at some point - now having a good taste of how things would go - they made the decision to sign again.
And if anyone spoke to me or my child the way that she did those few times I watched, there is no way...
That kind of tolerance is what makes young female athletes and performers come to accept such treatment and keeps them vulnerable to people who will exploit them in other ways.
If their child was working some mall job for spending-money, and had a heavy-handed contract to work there for a year, I know that the parents would have broken it, found a good attorney who would be glad to look into such predatory behaviour involving minor children.
The adults made a decision, weighed the pros (career, exposure, money, children's passion for dance, the actual *fun* and *rewarding* parts of being a performer/athlete) with the cons and decided to stay.
@@First._.Last. look before the show started they at most had like a 45 minutes private a week with abby so they had no real idea what she was really like, for them she was just the studio owner(the one who knew her better was probably kelly but before the show started Brooke used to be abby's favorite and won all the time so they probably didn't have that many issues at the time)

Im not really a fan of maddie i used to be for maybe like 4 episodes of season 1 til i realized she was abbys favorite and melissa would backstabbanybody for fame and money and everything for her daughter. I think Christi ruined everything tbh. I love Chloe, but I can't stand her mom.
