I consider myself very lucky that I was able to play on these motion machines several times growing up. There was 2 amusement centers in Michigan that had them at some point, and luckily one in Detroit that still has the regular cab machines. Gonna make a trip down to play them soon enough.
Do you know what locations? I'd like to try this game out given the chance I'm in NY so only 4hrs away through Canada must closer then any place listed
@M replay cafe in downtown detroit has 2 standard F-Zero AX cabs. Marvins marvelous mechanical museum MAY have a deluxe model. I recall seeing one there almost 10 years ago.
@@junitono1 Unfortunately, Replay Cafe closed their doors a few weeks back. The machines were leased through a company called Psychic Drive, who are based out of Detroit and still in operation. They had 2 as you said. I also recall the deluxe at Marvins but haven't been there in maybe 7 years, so a quick phone call or email might elicit a response. I also remember that Blaster's arcade in Brighton (now closed) had at least 1 deluxe cab which moved to Great Escape (also closed) in Howell after.
I'm a bit late here, but just so everyone knows the Boss Battle Games Arcade in Indianapolis has 4 deluxe AX machines. I was there just last week. Got to unlock all ten characters.
Nothing since this game has really matched the feeling of pure speed and insanity that fzero did. Its a damn shame nintendo hasnt made a new game since the gamecube.
I had a rare chance to play this gem when I was on holiday in Malaysia with my siblings. I played the game myself and offered to play the game with them. They said no, and to this day I still rip on them for not playing this rare arcade machine. lmao
Coolest driving game hands down. Even though I don't have the space, not sure I would be hardcore enough to own one let alone two of these. Props for being dedicated.
I played GX and it was such a good game, but damn hard. When I sold all my gamecube games a while back, it was the highest value by far beating out sunshine and melee combined. I never played the arcade version but it looks to be so good.
Living the dream right here! Ive always felt like AX controls were more natural and conducive to fast driving. GCN controller feels loose as hell and way outta control. Been trying to find a wheel that works with GX but the button configurations are always wrong and the game doesn’t offer enough flexibility in button assignments to make it match AX controls. The hunt continues…

I love how even a casual players you can tell they're feeling the intensity and engaging with the game. Man F Zero X and GX/AX are a master piece.

I'm a master a GX, but I never could find the AX cabinet. They are super hard to find...

@Vaporwave64 Haven’t gone that route. Trying to see if I can swing a solution on real hardware first. But I’ll keep that in mind👍🏽
