    As a Stainless Steel Sheet Metal guy, it was great to watch your clean up process. Alot of people don't realize the work that goes in to ensure the product does the job and look good at the same time.

    just a thought but if you place a small O ring or thin rubber washer between the hole saw and he arbor it will prevent the lock from vibrating up. preventing it from over tightening or even stripping the hole saw threads.

    • @ocdtechtalk
      @ocdtechtalk 6 лет назад +3

      I usually grease up the threads or use an arbor with lock pegs so you do not fully tighten the arbor

    • @deusexaethera
      @deusexaethera 6 лет назад

      I like the rubber washer idea, but if it's done wrong it could give the saw itself room to vibrate and get out of alignment.

    Hey AvE, thanks for the video! I heard you feel like you might be losing the guys talking in a shop factor, but I think it's just a bigger shop with more sheeple!
    Before I watched your videos nearly everything was a magical black box that I needed to pay a special wizard to fix. These videos really helped me realise it's all just kerjiggers doing very simple things working together. Just fixed the air mix servo motor in my car (it's winter here), a worm gear inside it had too much play in it and stopped chooching. I just moved the bushing on the motor that articulates with it and bam! Working again!
    I know it's not much, but I'm a research scientist by trade and these sort of things are normally ridiculously outside my world of hexokinase inhibitors and biomarkers. As tech gets more and more complex, even the so-called power users of the world will at some point call it a day and black-box-ify their machines. I guess I'm just trying to say that you're doing an important job here, demystifying the mystical, and I appreciate it!

It'd be friggin' skookum if you could make a vijeo (or even a series) in which you present the worst culprits of such business mismanagement. It'd be like a public service announcement, a black book in which all the shitty companies and their doings are outlined.

    I realized I may have an AvE "problem" when I'm working on a shed with my father and I say a sentence and see him looking at me like I'm on acid going "wait what?" I'm like" the drill is losing its chooch factor I need a new Batteria" So, I'm trying to break it down, chooch meaning how well the drill is (realizing it's better if he is kept in the dark) And I finally had to say " The battery is going dead, do you have a spare?" That's only one of many instances. It's also weird because we have our own language where I'll say something and people overhearing me are confused, he leaves and comes back with exactly what I'm asking for. He was the one putting power tools in my hand as a toddler. Bless him for that. Because of that I can now almost change a lightbulb.

      If you trip over them when they're left laying out, or they get tangled when you put them away like you're supposed to, you have too many clamps. (or not enough projects for the clamps to be attached to.) ;)

    There is a good trick if your drill a hole to small and your mandrill has long enough threads, you can put the bigger hole saw on 1st then thread the smaller one on second as your pilot bit.

The one he taught me that has stuck with me over 15 years now. My boss was givin him shit about taking a shit on the clock. They comes around the corner and starts telling the boss. An I quote. ( ILL SHIT OFF A CLIFF ILL SHIT OFF A ROCK BUT ILL BE GOD DAMNED IF I EVER SHIT OFF THE CLOCK!!! ) left him standing there speechless and we went to work. I was laughing all damn day on that one.
